Paella is good, everything else we had was ok. The location is right next to the tube station.

Thank you, Yelp app and fellow Yelpers for directing me to this little tapas restaurant on…read moreEversholt Street. It's a little unassuming family run restaurant but with serious intent from the kitchen. I was offered a table in the main dining room or the garden when I walked in - as we are in the middle of 'Wimbledon week showers', I chose to dine indoors. The menu was written in impressively authentic sounding terms but closer inspection revealed some fusion going on - lemongrass, tumeric and enoki mushrooms being amongst the ingredients on show. I'm up for a bit of fusion as long as it doesn't end in con-fusion! Having confirmed that I was hungry, the helpful waiter suggested getting 3 dishes. I couldn't help myself and went for the fusion sounding dishes. Panceta con cidra was pork belly, rolled and marinated with garlic, black pepper and dill, braised in Asturian cider. I zoom in pork belly whenever I see it and this version has been slowly cooked to melting tenderness with the dill coming through strongly - it didn't need the wedge of lemon which came with it and I enjoyed it as it arrived. Pollo a la plancha del Parador were a pair of chicken thighs marinated in lemon grass, turmeric, garlic & coriander and cooked on the plancha (grill). I prefer dark meat as it remains moist and the oriental kick wasn't too overwhelming. When the waiter said the Higadillos Salteados (chicken livers with Iberico Jamon, enoki mushrooms, shallots, black pepper and butter) would be served pink inside, I smiled - nice to see a restaurant willing to serve food as it should be cooked and not pander to squeamish guests. These were a delight and to get some Iberico ham from acorn-fed pigs was a bonus. This is tapas of the highest order, given a little twist. A little Yelp gem which deserves its high star rating.

Situated on quite a quiet street, it is well worth taking a visit. With a choice of over 40 tapas, all very well priced and utterly delicious. Your choice of dish will flirt wildly with all senses and deliver all promises. I am always very happy to find a restaurant which has a diverse yet experienced selection of fish. El Parador specialises in scallops, Halibut, and crab... although they were many others still left to be tried. The interior Decor, to me seemed rather french with little white table clothes and a smart yet gentle ambience. The wine list was impressive to say the least, with over 30 bottles of wine, in the price range of £13-30, with over 15 available by glass. The lunchtime menu has a special offer of 3 tapas for the price of two.

On walking in the decor is nicely thought and done, but in places does have a bit of an Ikea feel…read more The tables feel a bit cheap as do some of the bathroom fittings. However in the evenings the decor looks fantastic, a bit like how a nightclub looks rubbish during the day and just works in the evenings, when the night is dark and the imperfections cannot be seen. The wooden floor looked original and authentic, with the other furniture looking right. Only the pictures looked a bid mass produced. On arriving the lady was very keen to please and enthusiastic, she definitely wanted to make sure that everything was right. Also what made it special is that the chef came out and described some of the dishes when the lady serving was less sure of their details. The menu is quite short without a massive amount of variety, but it is full of what I presume are classic Spanish dishes. However when the food came out everything was forgiven. The main course was definitely handmade, the flavours were full of fresh homemade ingredients, none of the pre made rubbish of many restaurants. The cheese croquettes remarkable taste and originality. The deep fried cod in batter managed to achieve the perfection of crispy batter that did not go inside the fish itself and take out the flavour. Also the batter was thin and not overdone making it really special. The anchovies were so special, showing how different fresh anchovies are to tinned ones. Being fresh they taste more like a softer tasting and salty version of tuna. The herbs also brought out a taste and were perfectly balanced and so not overdone. They were also cooked perfectly. The dishes were great and worth travelling a distance for, so worth going even if you are not local. The desserts were fine, but not the perfections of the main course. They may, or may not have been home made, but did not have the freshly made perfection feel of just made freshness, perfect levels of spice etc. They were perfectly decent but the mains had been a perfect 5 stars.

Date-night-worthy Italian…read more My wife and I came here for an early dinner date while we were in London without kids and were impressed. We got the meatballs arancini balls on pea pesto, papardelle with wild mushrooms, rigatoni with basil pesto burrata and pistachios, and potted tiramisu. The standouts were the aracini, burrata, and tiramisu, but everything was quite good. The arancini were good for what they were but helped a lot by the being paired with pea pesto. I now wish arancini was plated on top of a counter-balancing sauce or food more often. The burrata was just fantastic and combining with pistachios and basil pesto brought the whole dish together in a way that really pushed things beyond the norm. The tiramisu came in a pot with a mint leaf sticking out the top. As with the other standouts, the tiramisu itself was good, but the whole presentation just really nailed things. The mint leaf went beyond decorative to actually boosting the whole dish. They also had a solid wine list and were willing to let us re-cork and take the rest of the bottle back to the hotel.

The pasta is made fresh everyday. So you have to try the pasta. The waitress brought out some focaccia bread for us to try. It was delicious! We ordered some wine and calamari for starters. The calamari comes with 4 large rings. It was very good! The breading is light and it is cooked to perfection. For dinner I ordered the sea bass. It is a small fillet and comes with the skin still on, with a small side of grilled romaine lettuce and sits on a green sauce that looks like chimichurri, but doesn't taste exactly like it. My husband ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. It was very good. The portions are small compared to most places. But, then you may have room for dessert! For dessert my husband ordered the lemon sorbet and I ordered the deconstructed lemon posset. It was delicious! I probably could have gone without it, as I was a little too full afterwards, but it was totally worth it! I highly recommend trying Morso. Get there early, or make reservations.

I live relatively close to this place, yet in almost 5 years I've not managed to come and check…read morethis place out...until this past Sunday. I was in an experimental mood and with my other half gone on a business trip, I browsed through my bookmarks list on the Yelp App until this place came up ;-) When I arrived, I was welcomed by Alan, one of the owners, and was seated right away. Turns out it was a very slow evening, which Alan attributed to the fact that it was Marathon Sunday in London. Well, good for me, as I had all the attention of the staff and therefore had a very pleasant dining experience. My favourite part of Del Parc is that I don't have to make a decision when it comes to food...in fact, you cannot make a decision. You just tell the staff about any dietary limitations you might have and off they go. I was reading on the blog of the Kentishtowner that this idea has evolved from the fact that many of the regular patrons just told the chef to prepare whatever he deemed to be best. This is my kind of restaurant ;-) And soon the platters (tapas) started appearing: at first a charcuterie selection, accompanied with pickles and filled olives. Then, a plate of Galician mussels was placed in front of me...and I was at first a little shocked. I should mention that I don't like mussels, but I had made a pact with the staff and my dietary limitations didn't include mussels. Well, turns out I actually do like mussels and I would've never found out, if I wasn't "forced" to eat them. The following dishes were spinach with pine nuts and marinated raisins, followed by king prawns in a very garlicky sauce. I confessed to Alan that I'm no pro in eating prawns and he suggested to just use my hands and dig out as much meat as possible. As this was a very messy undertaking, he brought me a bowl with lemon water to wash my hands in afterwards. He also brought me some additional baguette to soak up the garlic sauce. When I said that you don't need to make any decision here, then I was slightly incorrect: you do need to make a decision about what you want to drink. I went for sherry, as this fit perfectly into my experimental mood...being somewhat of a sherry-virgin ;-) I really liked the sherry that Alan chose for me, although I thought it was a little to chilled. After I'd finished my meal, I engaged in a longish conversation with Alan - given that there were no other customers, he was able to dedicate a lot of attention to me. He told me that they'd been at this place for about 12 years now and that before this little tapas place, he and his partner-in-crime, Steve (the chef) had actually run a deli nearby. Overall I really liked it here and I will have to come back with more people - given that this is a tapas place, it ought to be more fun to sample more dishes.

It is quite a small restaurant, and they were too full for us to reserve a table, so we just sat by the bar at the front. The staff were friendly and helpful and the smells coming from the kitchen made me hungry as soon as we stepped inside the door!! They have a tapas menu, an a la carte menu and the chefs menu (where they just keep bringing you food until you roll out happy and full...for £30.) We (of course) went for the chefs menu, and I am sooo glad we did. I didn't take any photos of the first few dishes as we were hungry and the lads I was with ate half of everything before I could get my camera out... but I remembered for about half the dishes - have a peek at my photos for a better description than I could possibly paint with words. Marc and I normally try to avoid Spanish food (as Marc's mother is from Catalonia and is such a good cook, that normally tapas in England is rubbish in comparison.) This is the first time we have ever found a Spanish place that we both love... we're even considering bringing Marc's mum to try it next time she comes to London. If you ever find yourself near Tufnell park or Archway, just come here.
