I have no idea why this spot is scoring so low!!! Loafers is an amazing seafood spot. There is ample parking, the ambiance is comfy, the staff was friendly and attentive. The prices are fair , the food is quality and the quantities are fulfilling. I enjoyed the seafood quesadilla and their wings!!! The drinks were made to perfection. I cannot wait to come back here.

Went here last night. I forgot that it was the night of the Tank Davis fight so there was a $20 cover charge to get in. 3 out of our party of four were here so, they kindly seated us. We ordered drinks and then food. It took some time for them to come out because it was pretty busy. Our server was friendly. I enjoyed my drinks and my appetizer sampler shown in my photos. It was a nice mature crowd. Everyone was able to enjoy the fight while being able to eat and drink. I would like to return and try other food and drinks that they offer. Overall it was a nice night out.

This wasn't the first visit, but the first in a long time. As usual, my sidekick - husband was with me and we opted for this joint. Entering, only 1/2 of the place was open to guests as the other area that has a larger bar was closed. likely opening for the dinner/true Happy Hour crowd. We were offered the regular menu and the lunch menu. Lunch specials were of interest, but I was enamored with the crab pretzel, asking if what the menu stated was accurate before ordering. The bartender/waitress stated it had lump crab and cheese, however, upon receipt, it was more cheese than crab for $19. I didn't complain because it was still tasty - but I'm not sure $19 tasty. I ordered my usual cocktail - Appletini with cherries and before leaving, I had a second! The jumbo fried shrimp was well seasoned and fried a little hard, but it was delicious and edible. The place was clean and well kept and as with prior visits, I'll be back because it's usually a great vibe and time!!

Been wanting to visit this restaurant for some time so decided to go there today. It's a seafood sport bar kind of place. So in addition to seafood they had typical sport bar food like burgers etc. I was hoping to order some fresh blue crabs that they offer year-round. But at $50 for just 6 "large" crabs, $90/dozen, it was simply too high to justify, as much as I like blue crabs. So I ordered fish and chips, which was more reasonably priced for my wallet. The service is friendly and courteous but very slow. When I was finally seated, my server handed me a menu and a glass of water but she never asked if I wanted to order anything else to drink. The fish and chips arrived, but then I had to wait 5 minutes in order to flag my server for a fork and tarter sauce. Food wise, the fish was good, no great, cut into fish sticks which are ok if I wanted to eat with my fingers or for dipping. The fries were good, natural, not coated fries. The cole slaw was very good, freshly made, crisp with just a hint of sweetness. Bottom line for me, the food was ok, not great, some items were out of my price range, service was friendly but not very good. The majority of the seating is high, bar height metal stools that, for me, was very uncomfortable after a while. Oh, and they automatically added 18% tip to your bill. I don't see any compelling reason to return.

1st time and definitely not my last time visiting this establishment. Hubby and I decided to stop here after a stressful evening of furniture shopping. I've been wanting to visit for awhile as I've heard great things about this place from hubby and gf's who have visited for game days, crabs and hh's. Parking lot was a fair size. Indoor bar areas were spacious and clean. There are 2 spacious bar areas. Very accommodating. Hot tops galore, options galore. Plenty of flat screen tv's to catch sports and viewable from any seat in the place. We were immediately greeted by Jason who was very pleasant. We ordered, he delivered. We ordered the Loafer's Peach Tea, Chicken Baltimore and Cajun Salmon. The food came out picture perfect and hot. Everything was so plentiful and good. The flavoring used on everything was everything. I'll be back for crabs sooner than later. I inquired about the MP for Large Male Crabs and they were $94/ Dozen. That's a darn great price these days. Job Well Done Loafer's!! You def live up to your hype !!

Came for a quick bite, right before happy hour with a friend of mine . The place had just opened up and was completely empty . Music was very low. We sat at the bar . The bartender /server was very stand-offish . Not only did he have ear pods in his here , but he failed to check on us throughout our stay . I ordered the fish and chips which was pretty good . The drinks we had were definitely on point .

*Updated Review!! And they're back! Not sure when they re-opened but I'm glad they are! The place looks brighter and fresh! Was here last Friday for happy hour. The drinks are still strong, the prices are still good. $6 drinks and in a big glass! I'll take two. Seriously, two drink max here! The food is ok. Service was good! I wish they had outdoor seating. I had a good time and I'll be back!

They only have chicken wings , 10 for $16 Not even offered on menu but I asked for half order. Tiny baby wings 5 for $8

Arrived a little bit after 11 on a Friday night. One of the only restaurants still open at this time. No cover. Got a table with no wait. Our waitresses' personality was great but we didn't see her for longgg periods of time. Perhaps they are short staffed but we were nearly falling asleep waiting for basic things (blue cheese, utensils, and even my friends food that was never ordered) My friend ordered a Shrimp Imperial along with her appetizer. We waited over half hour for it and when we finally got the waitresses attention she said "oh shit" and then only asked my friend what sides she wanted. So clearly, she never put her order in. Another 35+ mins go by and we just wanted everything to go They have chicken wings that are not advertised on the menu because of a misspelling or something. Anyway, they are 10 wings for $16. I wasn't hungry but wanted wings so she said I could do 5 for $8. Those wings were TINY AF and the celery and carrots were hot. sigh. They automatically add in 18% gratuity to bills so know this before hand! We only found out after I sent the receipt to my phone. Even with the slowwwwwwwwwwwwww ass service we tipped, but had I of known it was automatic I would not have.

Hadn't been here since the fire a few years ago. Was excited to visit again for some good food and girl time. Service was mediocre. We were a party of 4. Gratuity is included regardless so I felt like our server didn't try hard at all. We constantly ran out of ice tea and water at out table. Our food came out but we never received utensils and waited more than 7 minutes for those before we could eat. I ordered a Greek Salad and paid extra to have it as a side but it was a garden salad. I had to ask for olives and feta cheese. Crab cake was decent. There was a DJ but he consistently used profanity the entire time he was on the microphone. Didn't love his style or methods. Crabs were large and flavorful. Loved those. Parking is easy. Bathrooms were clean. If I'm in the area I may stop in for some crabs but not a place I intend to frequent.

We came here one Thursday evening when we were in the area- my husband said he always passed this place and wanted to give it a try. We went in knowing nothing about it, although my husband thought it would be more "bar food." The ambiance inside was a little confusing- there was a small but active bar crowd and even some security guards in the bar area, while the dining area right next to it (with an open wall) was going more for a "nice seafood restaurant" vibe. We ordered the crab pretzel ($19) and cheesesteak egg rolls ($13) for appetizers. For meals, I got the chicken fingers appetizer ($13) and my husband got a seafood penne dish ($30). The waitress asked if I wanted to have fries with my chicken fingers and I said sure ($5). We also both got iced tea ($6.50 for two). I would say the food was all very mediocre, although the pasta dish was surprisingly good, and my husband was impressed with the amount of crab and other seafood in the dish. The rest of the dishes weren't bad, just not particularly good. The meal was notably overpriced, in my opinion, and they also added on an automatic 18% gratuity ($15.57). Our waitress was nice, but the service wasn't particularly amazing- we only managed one drink refill despite drinking quickly, and there were often lags between requests (e.g., boxes for the food to go) and receiving the items. But the waitress was nice, and honestly we probably would have tipped her a similar amount, but an automatic gratuity carries a different standard in my opinion. The whole meal after tax and tip was about $107. We don't regret giving it a try, although I think we both winced at the price tag of the experience, but neither of us have any desire to come back. If you come, maybe give more of the seafood dishes a try, since the pasta was pretty good.

XL Crabs! Hot, heavy, and meaty. The garlic butter sauce is delicious!

A lively dive bar with almost nightly live-music…read more I used to frequent Morsberger's in the old days. Now it's a brighter livelier place, still showing off it's divey decor. You can enter on Main Street, or from the back patio. For the full dive-effect, I like to come directly from the old iron staircase in the back, halfway up to the patio, past the original tiny old restrooms and the ice machine. (There's nicer restrooms on the performance / pool-table side.) I looked in on the pool-table side where bands play regularly. There's seating there for around 30, mostly used when bands are playing or by pool-players or when the bar side is full. There's some benches out on the patio for warmer weather and for smoking. The walls are covered with old rock memorabilia, and i love the bar side where there are old albums on the ceiling too! Plus a collection of old stuff over the years that defies description. The bar seats maybe 15. I always sit on the bar side, where it's usually dimly lit. You can get basic mixed drinks and some premium spirits, and plenty of varieties of beers, some craft, some old regulars. They have a small kitchen, too. I usually just get a cold Natty Boh and watch some sports on their several tvs, or talk to anyone I know, or anyone who happens to be nearby. This time i got there on a Thursday after 5 and it was pretty quiet, between the regulars who finish around 4pm and the music-lovers who come after 6 or 7. This time I was one-and-done. I've been here for some rock, and mostly for a more Catonsvillian variety of punk and metal, sometimes every night!, though usually not Mondays. Sometimes there's a cover. It's usually good bands, with a lively crowd, some from the nearby college. There's a small number of parking spaces straight out back, only on their side of the alleys, and leaving the spaces behind the deck for the apartments to the east. The out-front street parking is pay at-the-meter or by-app during Mon-Sat 8-6, and otherwise free.

My wife and I decided to check out the speakeasy upstairs. I wish they had longer hours; as of this writing, they are only open from 8:00 p.m. until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays. Does that exclusivity add to the mystique? A bit, yes? Does that make it less likely for me to return any time soon? Also yes. The ladies behind the bar and the owner were upstairs chilling and greeted us as soon as we ascended the steep staircase. The dimly-lit Chambers has a lot more space to sit than I had anticipated, so you could come with a bunch of friends. There are tables, but also couches and lounge chairs. True to the speakeasy vibe, they have a bunch of signature cocktails, but they also make classic cocktails and likewise serve wines and beer. We had hoped to get a little food. It's mostly small-plates of food to pick at. The charcuterie plate sounded good, but the one bartender said it would take 15-20 minutes to prepare (surprising, because we were the only ones in there) and we had already kept our babysitter waiting too long, so we just did drinks. I got one of the seasonal signatures - the "What'd I say?" which had a citrusy boozy thing going for it, sort of reminiscent of a Sidecar. My wife got something warm, like an apple toddy. It was a bit too sweet for me, but otherwise tasted great! As mentioned, I wish they had longer hours. They've only been open two years, so maybe someday they'll expand beyond late-night on the weekend. But more folks came in as my wife and I wrapped up our evening, so maybe it's as sustainable level of popular for now. If you like cocktails and a speakeasy vibe, definitely check this place out.
