BEST DRY CLEANER IN THE CITY. PERIOD!!!…read more I cannot thank The Cleanery enough for saving my jacket after it was hand-washed and the colors bled, turning the white embroidery a muddy pink. I truly thought it was ruined. When I was in high school, my mom hand-embroidered a cougar on the back of my letterman jacket. I still remember her sitting at my soccer games, creating the cougar's face one stitch at a time. Years later, after I had outgrown the jacket, I couldn't bear to part with it. I carefully cut the cougar off, and my mom sewed it onto a denim jacket so I could keep wearing it. That jacket is one of my most treasured possessions. I've always joked that if there were a fire and I could only save one thing, it would be that jacket. So when a hand washing caused the embroidery to bleed and lose its brilliance, I was absolutely devastated. I was in tears when I brought it to The Cleanery because I honestly didn't believe it could be restored. A few days later they called to say it was ready. I walked in expecting to be disappointed, but Scott brought out my jacket, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The cougar looked as beautiful as the day my mom finished sewing it. I burst into tears again--this time, happy tears. And I paid less than $22 for this--so reasonable and the best money I've ever spent in my life. Scott was incredibly kind and shared my joy. I also want to thank the magical fairy godmother behind the scenes who worked on my jacket with such extraordinary skill and care. Francis, I have no idea how you did it, but you gave me back something that is truly irreplaceable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This meant the world to both my mom and me. If you have something precious that you think is beyond saving, take it to The Cleanery. They worked a miracle. I'm attaching before-and-after photos so you can see the transformation. Note: I took the cougar off of the jacket before I brought it into The Cleanery because I was getting ready to try and fix it myself with Rit color remover and wanted to be able to test the back side first. I'm SO glad I did try a DIY on something this important, potentially making it worse, and decided to let the professionals take this on instead. But that's why the cougar isn't on the jacket in the second photo.

I went back to the cleaners Wednesday at 1pm and was told that it wouldn't be in until 6pm. I asked if I could pay for my cleaning and the girl gave me a totally different total than what I was quoted. I asked for the price to be matched to what I was quoted in the first place...totally fair in my opinion. At this point she rolled her eyes at me, began raising her voice and went so far as to mock me. I called management and she told me "That's the price and I can't do anything about it. What do you want me to do? Give it to you for free?" Nope...not what I wanted....just the price that YOUR employee quoted me. It's no wonder the snarky teenager at the front complained about the place being "Slow" when I dropped my stuff off...terrible business practices. I would advise anyone needing affordable dry cleaning returned in a timely manner to go somewhere else.

Outside of not being able to communicate with the lady working there, some of the dryers and washers are always out of order when I go there. My last visit was a bad one because the dryers I was using had uneven heat. The top was good during the second cycle but the first cycle left my clothes wet. The bottom one was worse because neither of the 2 cycles dried my clothes. I tried to tell the staffer there but she kept twisting my words and refused to hear what I said. I tried talking to the owner about looking into why the heat source was so uneven only to get the same treatment from her. Every time I go there it is that much more expensive. Only reason for my going there is the laundromat on the premises where I live is out of order.

I brought the table cloth into Davis Cleaners at 5300 Menaul. Not knowing what it was stained with or how long it had been stained, he said they could give it their best shot, being careful of the delicate nature of the piece. A week later, I picked up the tablecloth hoping for at least some improvement. Unbelievable!!!!! The stain was completely gone! The crocheted cotton was completely refreshed!
