BEST DRY CLEANER IN THE CITY. PERIOD!!! I cannot thank The Cleanery enough for saving my jacket after it was hand-washed and the colors bled, turning the white embroidery a muddy pink. I truly thought it was ruined. When I was in high school, my mom hand-embroidered a cougar on the back of my letterman jacket. I still remember her sitting at my soccer games, creating the cougar's face one stitch at a time. Years later, after I had outgrown the jacket, I couldn't bear to part with it. I carefully cut the cougar off, and my mom sewed it onto a denim jacket so I could keep wearing it. That jacket is one of my most treasured possessions. I've always joked that if there were a fire and I could only save one thing, it would be that jacket. So when a hand washing caused the embroidery to bleed and lose its brilliance, I was absolutely devastated. I was in tears when I brought it to The Cleanery because I honestly didn't believe it could be restored. A few days later they called to say it was ready. I walked in expecting to be disappointed, but Scott brought out my jacket, and I couldn't believe my eyes. The cougar looked as beautiful as the day my mom finished sewing it. I burst into tears again--this time, happy tears. And I paid less than $22 for this--so reasonable and the best money I've ever spent in my life. Scott was incredibly kind and shared my joy. I also want to thank the magical fairy godmother behind the scenes who worked on my jacket with such extraordinary skill and care. Francis, I have no idea how you did it, but you gave me back something that is truly irreplaceable. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This meant the world to both my mom and me. If you have something precious that you think is beyond saving, take it to The Cleanery. They worked a miracle. I'm attaching before-and-after photos so you can see the transformation. Note: I took the cougar off of the jacket before I brought it into The Cleanery because I was getting ready to try and fix it myself with Rit color remover and wanted to be able to test the back side first. I'm SO glad I did try a DIY on something this important, potentially making it worse, and decided to let the professionals take this on instead. I have been a big fan of the cleanery. Infact i used them all the time and ran to them when I moved back to NM! I realized that they started charging more for their services with out stating it up front. On my french cuff shirts they charged and extra dollar but did not not state this. However the extra charge did not include folding and pressing. When I called to address this, they person I spoke with said they would handled this, but this means travelling to the location (again) and dealing with the situation. Even if I was ok with this, it means that I need to spend close to $6 per shirt. Unbelievable!!!! read more

Overall, they have done a great job over the many years we have used them and are very easy to do business with. The pick up and delivery service is very reliable. The only issue we've seen is a tendency to "lose" garments (we suspect some possible theft). That can get expensive when you can't give them the details for the item (brand, price, etc) so they don't compensate you for their screw up. My wife's clothes (frequently bought shopping while traveling) disappear more than mine. Very strange. My wife now takes photos of every garment we send so she can document the losses. Hard to see what was once a very good service provider lose its way operationally. Sadly, we're looking for a better alternative. read more

The cleanery is great! It's tucked inside of a cute little shopping center in NE Heights. The owner + staff is SUPER nice, always welcoming! They take such good care of my garments + house rugs etc. Pro Tip: If you live in a house in the surrounding areas, they will pick and deliver (door to door). They don't do delivery to apartments at this time. I'm renting but I don't mind dropping and picking up, they are always so friendly. Grade A service! So glad I found this place. Also, they always help me carry my things to the car. Great cleaners that knows how to care for all kinds of fabrics and you can trust your expensive garments with them. read more

Posting an update to the saga of a missing D&G dress. It is unfortunate how far from grace this business has fallen. Used their services for over a decade. Had one other issue that was resolved above my satisfaction. This last issue, where my dress was lost, resulted in the manager questioning if I had dropped off the item, requests for ownership calls ignored and was not offered anything for the loss. Have found a new provider due to the shocking poor customer service. read more

Got quoted $10 per pair of jeans to patch the back pockets and got charged over $50. I am all for paying for the services that I receive, but to get a bill for almost triple what I was quoted is a little beyond. When I asked about it I was told "that is why we don't usually quote repairs". Understandable if additional problems presented during the repair, but that was not the case with these. I will not be going back; at the very least a business should be able to stand by their quote (or be able to explain what changed) with more than a shoulder shrug and a "that's just how it is". read more

We've taken a comforter there (~$40-45 for a king size comforter), and one of my husband's suits - all have come back in perfect condition, and actually have been ready before the estimated date they gave us. Love that they text you when your stuff is ready, so it's very efficient. I didn't realize they are green and eco-friendly, but it makes me all the more happy to continue being a customer to them. Yeah, so sorry to rate this place low. But I took some things in for ironing. When I picked it back up, they charged me their ordinary cleaning fee. Dummy me for not asking the ironing prices, but shame on the intake clerk for not telling me this up front. Spent $110 for ironing, which I needed done because I had just moved to ABQ with a sick husband. The manager came out and explained, very dismissively, that "all our cost is in the ironing, cleaning or not." Well okay, dearie, and I will NEVER be back. read more

A lab coat cleaning typically costs $10 here but every time I visit, I've received a coupon for my next visit, making the cost around $6. They suck! Lost my clothes but kept insisting that I was the one who lost the clothes because their computer indicates I picked them up. I told them that I did not care what their computer indicates because I can see with my own eyes what I have and don't have. When I tried to get them to finally listen to me it was very apparent that they did not give AF. Only offered to reimbursement for what I paid for the clothes. I explained that I didn't anticipate that I would have to keep receipts for every item of clothing I buy in case a cleaners would lose them. So pissed! read more

This review is for leather cleaning. i brought some dresses here too, but honestly I can't tell if they're cleaner because they didn't look dirty to begin with :) **LEATHER CLEANING TAKES 5-6 WEEKS**. Your leather item goes out of state somewhere for a long time; it's like sending your kid to camp. When I dropped it off, my light tan jacket was noticeably dirty from oils, especially around the collar and wrists. It came back (from camp) looking like it'd been scrubbed within an inch of its life; I'd say it 90% cleaner (which is a lot better than when i took it to Kitch Cleaners on Lomas; I did not expect 100% cleaner, i don't think that's possible). Bill was a little over $50, which was worth it for me. read more

We have loved the Cleanery for 3 years once we were pointed to them as the best in ABQ. Yes they are. My husband's shirt come back perfect. And I am a bit OCDC about table linens. They clean them and starch them to perfection so I never have to worry at the last minute before a party. They pickup and deliver in Placitas, which is fabulous and for which we are so appreciative. Recently we had an issue with an order not being available on the day promised. Not ever had that situation with them. Although not a first, second or third world problem (and usually the deadlines are flexible with us) this one caused a tizzy. Scott dug through mounds of cleaning to find the items, tracked down why they were not available as expected and, although not perfectly clean yet, made sure we got them to use if we wanted over the weekend. This was service above and beyond, but honestly what we appreciate from a premium service provider. We were so very happy that they cared enough to see if they could correct an unusual problem. At the time I initially dropped off my items, I found out I was drastically misquoted the cost of my items (ex. Quoted $10 for a jacket and sweater, but got charged $18 each for them). This is almost 2x the price of the initial quote. Most dry cleaners require payment upfront, but this place does not. So it's essentially your word against theirs. When I brought up the misquoted price, the employee whose name is Jodie, was extremely rude, obnoxious, and very unprofessional. She even yelled at me, and when other customers started arriving, she continued her rant. I received a 15% discount, but it was no where near my initial quoted price. I was a first time customer and this will definitely be my last time ever frequenting that place. Anyone who treats their customers in that manner should be fired! It doesn't matter how good they claim they are, if their customer service is severely lacking, they do not deserve to have my future business! read more

This is the worst dry cleaner ever! This place was a night mare. I had to allow a couple days to pass before writing this review because I was so upset with the way I was treated. I dealt with the Owner (Kurt) and the Manager (Scott) who had the worst customer service and attitude I have ever seen. On my first and only visit, I took a $500 linen duvet cover that had two small dog paw prints on it after our dog jumped up on the bed. I took the duvet in to get it cleaned and showed Antoinette who took care of our order, the two small dog marks. She said it would not be an issue, and I asked if she needed to make a note of the two small marks and she replied with "no, not for anything that small". Upon picking up the duvet 10 days later, I took the cleaned duvet home to make the bed, and upon unfolding the duvet I was shocked to find 4 large 12inch brown and yellow stains all over the duvet, along with marks that looked like dried blood. Even worse the two small marks that I took it in to get cleaned were still there also. I went back to the store to speak with a manager, and Carla the front desk girl who was very rude and blunt, and said she would have the item sent back to get re-cleaned and re-worked. She said to give them 7 days to try everything they could to get the original and new stains out. After waiting a week we never heard from anyone and eventually called to see what the issue was. They told us after calling that the item had been delivered for pick up at the store. After speaking to the manager Scott about them being unable to remove any of new stains they caused, he told that all of the stains were old, and caused by us, and that there were no notes in the systems showing which were the original stains. They would not even consider listening to our concerns and immediately went to calling us liars, and that they were not responsible for anything and that it was all our fault, and asked us to take the duvet and leave the store, and that we could take them to court if we wanted. Save yourself the time, money and heartache and go to any Dry Cleaner other than The Cleanery! read more

I got my wedding dress cleaned and preserved here. Keep in mind this was six years ago and cost me $375 dollars. I still have the receipt to prove it. It was all taped up and I picked it up in a nice box... Fast forward to my sister wanting to borrow my veil. I opened the outer box for the first time and to my surprise it was not vacuum sealed like I was told it would be but 3/4 of all the beading on my dress was pulled off and thread just left hanging!!! Then I picked up the dress to find out they never un-bustled it before cleaning and repackaging!! I am dumbfounded that this scam of wedding gown preserving that they are pulling for this kind of price! I don't even know what the price is today but I would recommend just having David's Bridal take care of your dress. I am extremely disappointed in how I was never told about the excessive beads falling off and there overall half ass job. I do not recommend this place! read more

I took my wedding dress here to be steam cleaned. It got very wrinkly since I had to stuff it into a carry-on suit case. They finished with it in only 2 1/2 days and came in at half the price I was expecting! They even helped me bring it to the car since it would have been difficult for me to lay it out without wrinkling it again. I also did not realize that the dress had a bunch of loose pieces with it (beads and extra ribbon). They took extra care to save those pieces and put them in an extra baggie to make sure that I got them back. I would love to get my after-wedding dress cleaning done here too but I left town too soon. I just hope to be able to find a place as quick and competent as this place again. read more

Let me start by saying the quality of dry cleaning is fantastic, however when they lose a sport coat and say they never got it, the Stars drop dramatically. They are probably the most expensive dry cleaners in the city; the suits come out amazingly. They have a quality driver, Randy; him alone is why I returned despite the cost. When I had over 10 suits and sport coats cleaned the last time I did not receive my black sport coat back. I got with Randy and let him know. The response was they never show record of receiving it. I sent the receipt and description and still nothing. I went back to Suits Unlimited where I purchased the sport coat and purchased another one. Even after the owner of Suits, who referred me to The Cleanery, said they would call them to have them make it right I received no call, no follow up, and no resolution. I work with others that have had a similar "mistake" happen. I would not trust them with any more of my clothes. I do not recommend you try them. They can be the best at cleaning your clothes, but it does not matter if you do not get all of them back. read more
