Love my new shutters from LMR! I'm a bit delayed in posting this review as they were installed at the end of July but I couldn't be happier. We purchased shutters for our home office and master bedroom and they completely changed the look of our rooms. From initial contact for estimate to final installation, the whole process was efficient, professional, and fairly priced. What sealed the deal for me was these were constructed locally, by a family owned business. Other companies have them shipped from overseas. I like to keep things local whenever possible. We had used this company before and recommended them to everyone who asked about shutters. They had always been amazing so I am shocked I have to leave this review. We moved and had them install shutters in our master bedroom at the new house. When the salesman was here we were explicit that we wanted the color to match our other shutters which are bright white. We repeated this over and over to the salesman even stating how much we hated off white and how we wanted white. When the shutters arrived they were installed during the day when it was bright out. That night my wife walked in and noticed the color was an ugly yellow off white and not the white we had asked for with the salesman. After talking to the salesman who was not helpful the owner reached out after I threatened to stop payment on the check. He asked me to not stop payment and agreed to get the shutters and repaint them "in a few weeks" as long as I paid for the labor to have them brought to his shop. I agreed to this since I know its hard to run a small business and mistakes happen. We just wanted white shutters. Well its now months later and both the owner and the salesman are ghosting us. Repeated text messages and phone messages to schedule the redo have gone unanswered. I have even asked for an appointment to have the front room done as well. But nothing. Given how they treat people after mistakes are made I would avoid this place at all costs. Its sad to see yet another reputable business drop their customer service in this time of plenty for them. They seem to forget that one day there wont be months of waiting customers. read more

The workmanship on my new shutters was so poor that I thought they had a new employee who made them incorrectly. Instead, I found they deliberately cut corners making them. All hidden hinges were left hand side, so the right-side hinge was at the center of the window and in the way when opening the shutter. The hinges were also very cheap, and the vanes rattled during opening, except for the vane that was right at the tightening screw. Split tilt rod was cut after installing them, leaving bare jagged metal ends. Magnets were cheap and too strong, causing them to be yanked in order to open the shutters (thus rattling due to the cheap hinges). Owner stated they use 50 cent magnets instead of $5 magnets and don't have the time to constantly switch their machine from left to right for the hinge placement. Their advertised "100% satisfaction guaranteed" is 100% not guaranteed. Every time I talked to the owner, he spun a new story...one time telling me my 60 ft of shutters was like 1 pair of shoes in a shoe store and that they did 3,000 ft of shutters per week. Next discussion he would tell me he is a small business just trying to get by and couldn't possibly refund me any money. He also wanted me to give it 6 months to a year to see if they would grow on me - just ridiculous. Total waste of money and I even had to pay to have them removed myself, after many calls and attempts to have LMR remove the shutters. Wish more people would provide honest reviews and not be afraid to post negative ones. Owner even asked me "you aren't going to leave a bad review, are you?" Everyone should seriously think twice before using this company. Their advertisement statement of "Hand crafted with passion for quality" is totally false. read more

We ordered the shutters in November and they were installed last week. Absolutely love them! They completely transform each room of the house. Excellent, quality craftsmanship at a fair, competitive price. The shutters are wood, and we chose the "Swiss White" paint color. At first, I wasn't sure about going with wood. Stay away! Completely unprofessional company. They demand payment for their job so obviously you have to check their work. He was mad because I didn't follow him around for a 3 to 4 hour job to make sure his work was ok as he was going. After reviewing the poorly done job, that is when Anthony went crazy. There were open nail holes everywhere. A couple of the blinds were not level. I refused to make payment until he fixed the items. He wanted me to pay him and he would come back to fix it. I deal with contractors on an every day basis. I know he'll never come back. He told me shadows or the weight of the shutters were the problem and there is nothing he could do. I know better. He insulted me, my house and the work environment. He complained that he had to have furniture moved and the height of the shutters. He came and measured everything! He knew exactly the job but got so out of control when I asked him to fix his poorly done job. I would not pay until he fixed those items so he was going to tear all the shutters back off the house again. I had to threaten to call the police to get him to stop. I would have sent him to jail for taken a fixture off the property. He was way out of control, insulting & unprofessional. Then he decided if he was going to fix his poorly done job, he was going to charge me extra for that. After arguing with me, he then demanded cash now. I gave up my Labor Day holiday to accommodate this guy and then he wants all cash when no bank is open for an over $9000 job. The guy went crazy. He scheduled us for 5 to 7 weeks. I had to call him after a couple of months to see what was going on. He had no time to schedule me in to complete the work so the only way I could get the job done was to have it done on Labor Day. Take my advice, do not do business with this company. Despite what you think this company is like or how nice they are upfront, he is a nasty person. No person should have to put up with a vendor like this. If he wanted paid, do a good job and then you would get paid. If something is wrong, just fix it. After all of his tirade and having to threaten the police to get him under control, he then comes back and says his machine could not do the size of the shutter and he apologizes for the shutter not being right. His worker, not him, leveled the other blinds like they were suppose to be. Apparently being aggressive has worked for him in the past. He even made the comment in front of my wife that he has to get out of here before something happens. Threatening? Sure sounds like. Do you want to work with a contractor/vendor like this? Spend a little extra money and get a better quality product and a way more professional company. It will save you a lot of grief. If you go ahead, better have the police on speed dial. He forgives me? WHAT? The guy is a fraud. I am the customer and they did a poor job. His exact words are I have emotional and psychological issues. That I was crying and I don't like to be showed up. That is how he responded a week after their work. He is not sorry. He is nasty and stay away. Here is his exact response to me. Do you want to do business with someone like this? LMR Custom Shutters Thank you for telling your side. But don't forget the truth is you thought it would be OK to pay me the next day, I said No, I need payment on completion. You started crying (maybe because you don't like being told no) Your wife told you to write a check, and said she's sorry about the inconvenience. You didn't like being upstaged, or put down so you tried to find things wrong. I think you need help, mentally and emotionally. Unfortunately we couldn't please you. I wish you continued success in all you do. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need anything. Tell your wife we say hi and thank her for being so understanding. As for the police, I encouraged you to waste their time. You really think you're right for not paying, after completing work, you are sadly mistaken..
