After receiving 3 estimates to install shutters for our home, we elected to hire elite shutters and blinds (ESB). Shawna was our point of contact for the initial sales call. She was very thorough, personable and arrived as scheduled. She made us feel very comfortable choosing ESB. Her bid was competitive with others and she gave us many options to make the final product exactly what we wanted. After searching online for a shade for a guest bedroom I decided to stop in at an Elite Shutter and Blinds near my house. They sent Scott Klingberg out to give me a quote and I wasn't expecting to get a price cheaper than I was getting online but it was! He was very honest about his brands and materials and I got a Hunter Douglas shade with a backing for privacy at a price within my budget! Hallelujah! I purchased three large blinds through the Costco program and Elite Blinds were the ones who contacted me. They came to my house and were very helpful in helping me choose the color. The order came in on time and the install went well. After a week or so one very large blind wasn't working well. Instead of trying to fix it they ordered a brand new one. Just had our window coverings installed and they look FABULOUS! Our journey into window treatments began just before Christmas when we had home visits with sales associates from two different companies, Elite and one other. Both meetings went well, but there was a big difference in their approaches. The Elite designer, Kathy Jordan, actually leveraged her many years of design experience to assess what she thought might be the best options for us and let us choose from among them. She had a great eye for design and color-matching. We also asked about other options, but it didn't take long for us to realize that her initial assessment was spot-on. For our main living areas and the master bedroom, we selected Hunter Douglas Duette (cell-within-a-cell) blinds. These are some of the most energy-efficient coverings you can get; they help provide heat insulation from the Arizona sun and some good energy savings. We further customized them by selecting a motorized, remote-controlled, top-down/bottom-up draw. For our spare bedrooms, we selected some one-handed, no string faux wood blinds that are easy to clean and are designed so that the extra string hole on the back side is hidden when the blinds are closed, so light leakage is minimal. The other sales associate basically asked us what we were looking for and then showed us our options. Either she wasn't a designer at all, or she simply made no attempt to use her experience and assess what might be best for our home. Thankfully, we met with her *after* we had met with the Elite designer, so we knew exactly what we were looking for. The clincher was that the quote from Elite for virtually the same, if not slighter better (in the case of the faux wood blinds) products, was 35% less than the other one. The blinds were received within about 3-4 weeks and the installation was very smooth; two guys completed it in about an hour. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Elite, and specifically Kathy, to anyone! read more

I am very happy with my new window treatments!!! I had been calling around to get quotes on shutters, for my new front window. After talking to Kathy Trojan, she came up with a complete different idea for my window. I am so happy that I took her advice because I did not really want shutters in the first place, but I did not know what else to do. Kathy recommended Hunter Douglas Top Down Bottom Up Blinds, which I had never heard of before. She brought out samples and we color matched with the wall, we even took it a step further and I got 2 cornice's to tie 2 windows together. The installers were awesome, they installed the blind first, then there was a second crew that came out and installed the cornices about a month later. The first installer took the time to explain how the blinds worked and how to change the batteries. The second installer made sure that the tops of the cornices were even and matching (I have vaulted ceilings, and the windows were different heights). The shutters look wonderful. It's just too bad the service and follow up of my sales rep is bad enough to warrant a less than steller review. I ordered my shutters 10 weeks ago. At the 8th week, the roman shade for the kitchen came. However, it was missing the part that allowed me to raise it up and down. 2 weeks went by with nothing done. I called my sales rep several times only to hear "you need to call the installation dept, I have nothing to do with the install". Finally, at 10 weeks, the shutters came. The roman shade part did not come. The installer took the shade---left a very flimsy substitute that I still cannot raise up or down. Unfortunately, I was not home and my husband paid the balance owed in full. 4 days later, I cannot get anyone to return my call. Obviously, once the sales rep gets her commission and the company gets paid, no one cares. My sales rep and order came out of the Happy Valley store. I would not recommend Elite. The sales reps represent the company. The company is no better than it's reps. I have paid in full, but only received part of my order with no explanation as to when I will receive my shade. read more

Bummer I got the C team that installed them...black hand prints all over my walls around the windows, scratched my wood floors, and the sales lady was late two different times to my house and cancelled once.
