I was here last Saturday and wow was I impressed? 5 stars! It's a very small showroom but the selection they have is HUGE! We were greeted by Courtney, a rep, right away when we were browsing. She answered every single question and addressed every concern we had with each option we had. So we flipped back and forth between engineered and hard wood and finally went with the hardwood after HOURS, I mean HOURS of being there. I'm sure we must have been so annoying but this is our dream home and I want to pick the PERFECT flooring! However, none of the staff seemed annoyed and they were so patient with us and explained everything from the durability to maintenance to installation, etc. By the time we left this place, we've talked to 4 reps. We have a large meeting space + lobby of around 1,500 sq ft total and replaced our old rug about a week ago with vinyl laminate (CLX UL Brazilian Cherry EVP 7mm) and are very happy with it. We paid extra to have the installation crew move the furniture around because we had lots of stuff in it (about 90 chairs in stacks of 5 or 6, a piano, cabinets and banquettes, tables, etc). The lead installer, Andress (not sure of spelling), was terrific. He had a crew of 2 working with him and got the entire thing done over a weekend. He's very accommodating and a pleasure to work with. We're glad we paid extra to have him handle the furniture as it saved us a lot of work. read more

Not too thrilled. We had a flood in our house and we were out of our house for 9 months in 2015. Our contractor recommended engineered hardwood because we are on a ranch with a slab. We had spoken to LL here and ended up ordering the Bellawood Engineered hardwood because of the "quality" in a Brazilian Chestnut because based on their ratings it was a "harder wood" floor. Since we moved back into house not only the first month did we notice how it gets scratches so easily on the floor (you drop one thing and there is a scratch or dent), there were stress cracking noted on the top finish starting at 6 months. We had a very bad experience with our contractor who exclusively uses LL (to point we could have filed harassment charges and everything was paid on time but my husband had too many questions over 9 months and he overcharged when we had to put our own money into house for old owners mistakes and he knew he had us from the beginning). Well starting at 6 months to about a year my husband made a few phone calls and emails complaining about the product.... They told us that because our contractor purchased that floors that he was the holder of the warranty and would have to transfer ownership over to us. So their "Bellwood warranty" they speak so highly about is basically NULL AND VOID in our house. If you have a contractor who really buys the wood on their own. Its amazing they didn't tell us that to begin with shame on them. So basically the floors we paid for (even waited on backorder... and did so much research asking the LL Staff if this is a tough floor)... and the fact that our contractor put our family through the worst 9 months...they did not care... the floors are in OUR HOUSE! Extremely disappointed to point that we see ourselves ripping them out in next 5 years. read more

I went over there a few days ago to find a hardwood floor very old style which I couldn't find anywhere guy over there by the name John Guerra Which try to help me to find it unfortunately, he couldn't find it in his regular records since it was very old style, I personally gave up but he didn't . John spent half an hour or more checking his old archived records making phone calls Until he found he found it. Such a Customer Service like I have experienced with Mr. John is admirable, I couldn't find enough words to thank him. We went here looking for a kitchen install to match our existing hardwood. John was extremely helpful, provided a sample, answered all our questions and arranged for the installation. The installer was meticulous and it came out beautifully. Was deciding between these guys and Empire - definitely a no brainer. Lumber Liquidators is very upfront about the pricing and doesn't apply high pressure to buy immediately or act like a used car salesman - unlike the other guys (who I had trouble getting out of my house when I wouldn't instantly commit). First off, from a customer service perspective, I would give the South Hackensack store manager, John G., and employee, Robert, 5 stars. John was always pleasant and approachable, and Robert was on point, responsive, followed up and followed through even on Christmas Eve! I also spoke with other employees at the store when calling, and they were always polite and courteous. The floors have recently been completed (approx 980sf). I haven't seen in person yet - only on FaceTime and in pictures, but my son who will be living at the condo is pleased with the outcome. Based on what I've seen, they look great. Order process, getting an estimate, delivery and installation were all done in a timely manner (all in less than 2 weeks)!! The only thing to be mindful of is price if you are going to use them for installation. In this case, we went with the laminate flooring and the price of the planks were reasonable. However, if you're doing more than one room, expect your price to be double what you may think, and if you have stairs, expect it to be 2x as much as your floors, i.e., if you're thinking $1k, consider coming in around $2k+ (delivery, haul-away, underlayment, etc.). If you have stairs, figure another $2k (depending on how many stairs). Since laminate is not recommended for stairs, installation prices and material for stairs will be a huge part of the budget. We opted to forego the stairs and go with berber carpet for the stairs purchased elsewhere. All things considered, I would recommend this location for their service and turnaround alone. Their products are comparable to other big box stores with the customer service being one of the main differentiators! read more

Having done business several times I recently had an issue with an order from a another store in central NJ. I phoned the guys at Hackensack and they were more than happy to assist me. Rob, Christian and the the staff saved the day. I got a very fast replacement of the offending merchandise and was back in business in one day. I recommend using their store for your flooring. People came in and out yet after an hour of waiting for service I gave up. I think these guys are great. I'm sure others have their issues with them... but they're a discount flooring store... what do you expect? I've bought from other lumber liquidators stores and not had the same great service, so I travel extra to go to South Hackensack just because I appreciate the great service Tom and his co-workers give me every time I go there. I've bought more than 1000 sq ft of bamboo and laminate flooring from them and with their guidance, i've finished 3 room and have 2 left. I went with the vinyl plank flooring and I have received nothing but compliments on them from anyone who comes over.
