They moved up our slot a day and were done by the next afternoon! Hire your own contractor! Similar to details in several other reviews, the quality of installation was poor. Our installers were three young men who proudly claimed to be high school drop outs. That wouldn't matter to me if they had the maturity to stay off their cell phones, cut out the socializing, and do quality work. The materials estimated were not enough for the job and we were told we should 'go to the store to get more tomorrow'. They did the estimate and should be responsible for their figures. So one closet has no trim boards. There are splinters now along our existing French door molding from their removal of old floor and there are black hammer marks at several places along our walls that need to be repainted. A central corner has an amateur cut job that I can't imagine would satisfy any floor layer. Additionally, the rehanging of closet doors seems to stump the installer. And A trim piece has glue squirting out onto the floor. All together this felt like the D team from a beginning shop. We won't have them back in the house even to attempt to fix their work. We had no problems at all with the purchase at LL... but as long as they send out installers like this group I feel their entire review is only worth 1 star. read more

DO NOT use their installation services!! They ended up charging me equivalent of $935 per HOUR of LABOR for self-leveling cement... on top of material cost. I was told that my floors needed to be leveled and they would charge $85 per bag just for labor. Without a lot of background on the task and the amount of labor required for each bag, I agreed. So they charged me $1275 + tax for labor for a total of 15 bags. To actually perform the task, they sent only ONE person and it took him only 1.5 hours for all 15 bags!! That comes out to approximately $935 per one hour of labor!!! After waiting close to an hour waiting on the customer service line, I was sent over to a supervisor in installation. The representative kept repeating that they charge per bag and not by hour. I get it. It felt to me that they are actually hiding the per hour labor charge by making you focus just on the charge by the bag.  I feel taken advantage of. It's not about the money, it's about the principle. Just imagine the number of unsuspecting people who they've done this to all this time.. They lost my trust. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN FOR INSTALLATIONS!! Maybe only for material. I'd much rather go to an independent contractor that I can trust with installation. read more

This review has been a long time coming because I really just wanted to forget the entire experience. Some of it was pretty good, though not great and the rest was just plain terrible. The Good.. eh, the Okay: The people who work in the showroom were helpful and professional. We came in thinking that we knew what we wanted but ended up realizing that type of flooring wasn't going to work for us. We ended up going with bamboo, which btw - is very beautiful and tough. Five months in and there's not a scratch on it. If the entire experience ended with the showroom experience this would've been a 4 star review. Not a 5 star as one thing happened that turned me off and should've been a red flag warning sign, but at the time I didn't heed it. When ordering the flooring etc, it came to too much, more than we expected by about $2000.00. I didn't think we could afford it and expressed my disappointment. That's when he 'realized' that he had overcharged us for the stair riser and peds, that took $1400 off the top. So, on to the very, very bad. The installation process. We had bamboo in the living room, dining room, hallway, two flights of stairs and another small hallway installed. The flooring and other accoutrements were delivered and a date was made for install. The flooring has to acclimate and we were in no hurry for the install so the date was set about 4 weeks out. In order to have the flooring installed we had to empty all of those rooms of furniture, not a small task. About 10 days after the delivery the sub contractor that LL works with called and wanted to do the install.... tomorrow. Oh, BTW, the call came in at 6pm, they wanted to be there at 8am the next morning. WTH? No! We advised them that the original install date would be just fine. Date of install comes by and a man shows up at our door. One man. He says he's the team. He barely speaks English. I think his name was Yuri. He says the install will take 3 days. Yuri spends the first day doing demo on the carpet and old wood floor. Second day, Yuri comes back tells us our floor is uneven, it will take 10 bags of leveler, that will be $30 a bag and $60 a bag for labor. $900 or he leaves and never comes back. So we pay. He leaves and doesn't come back until the next day, Wednesday. He is in our home for perhaps 3 hours, lays leveling compound and leaves. The next day, Thursday, he starts the install. Friday, he says he'll be finished around 1:30. I take a late lunch, go home to do a walk through and he's not even close to done, but he keeps indicating that he'll be done in 1/2 an hour. Of course, I'm not really sure how much he understood because he didn't speak English fluently. When I asked him, 'how well do you speak English", he replied, "Yes". I ended up taking the rest of the day off because he honestly had no idea when he'd be finished. Then came the point when he said it was finished. It was a mess. The showroom employee had told us that when the installer finished it would be "move in ready". It was no such thing. Even to this day there are seams that are hard to look at because they are so uneven. I took photographs and sent them to his boss - who also seemed to speak very little English. He and Yuri had a long phone conversation in their own language about the shoddy workmanship while Yuri yelled and screamed into the phone. Yuri then got off the phone and told me he would do me a favor for free and finish the trim work. Which he did... mostly. But the seaming in the finish work is still a sight to see. There's nothing, "move in ready' about his work. If this were a new construction the builder would be calling the contractor to get his behind back to the site to fix the trim seaming. In places where the seams meet one side often juts out by at least 1/4 inch. That's hard to camouflage. Also. We were told that while the contractor would install the trim work, they wouldn't paint it, we had to. So before the trim work went in we painted it so that when it was installed it would just need a few touch ups. Okay, that's not unreasonable. Except that they over ordered by 60 linear feet of trim work. I honestly can't remember what that cost, but of course it was painted already so it was nonrefundable. So, besides the extra wood - two unopened boxes and a few other things, we also found a bag of the leveler that was unmentioned by Yuri in our garage. Had we not found it we would've ended up paying not only for the unused leveling compound, but also for $60 labor. As it is, LL refunded the unused materials, sans the painted baseboard molding. The installation process was ridiculous. If you need the flooring to be installed PLEASE hire your own contractor. I warn you, do not go through LL for installation. You'll regret it. BTW - Yuri was finally finished at about 7pm that night. read more

I'm sure they are just fine as liquidator type places go, but a few things bothered me when I visited the Aurora area store a number of months back. First of all, the inventory was fairly limited. There were a few (maybe 5 total) higher end flooring to look at, but for the most part, it was all very fake looking, ie. the vinyl and linoleum, which make up most of the fairly small storefront. After getting bored w/taking pics of ugly samples, I ventured outside and walked around back. There was a fairly large warehouse and in front of and off to side, an open box of what appeared to be mounding w/some pieces laying on concrete. Upon further inspection, (hey, who doesn't like new molding) I found that the wood and box were full of bugs, cannot tell you exact species, not termites but something that was either attracted to mold or made the mounding moldy, as that is what it was. Moldy white mounding spilling out of a full moulding size box containing a buggy type creature I couldn't identify and didn't stay long enough to try. My guess would be that it came from warehouse and an employee chucked it out there so as not to infect the rest of the fake wood in warehouse! But there was a dumpster just yards away for goodness sake! So, no pride in your place of work to me equals no pride in your job and that equals crappie product and most likely pretty crappie installation. So it got 3 stars simply because salesmen were nice to my bf, who really is irritating w/too many questions about things he should already know. (BTW, this is the Westminster location , not Mukilteo, have not been to Mukilteo yet)) read more

After spending the day shopping around several flooring stores, we randomly drove to LL in Mukilteo because it was close to where we happened to be. Even though we arrived 10 minutes before closing, we were very pleased with the level of service that Daniel and Cortney provided. We showed Daniel a sample of the molding from our house and he quickly matched it with the luxury vinyl plank they had in stock. After educating us on flooring and asking a few questions, he gave us a sample LVP to take home along with an estimate of everything we may need. The next day, after doing some research on the LVP and reviewing all the estimates we had from various stores, we decided to go with LL for our flooring needs. The main reason for this was the customer service along with low price. Each time you walk in their store, you are greeted by someone who genuinely wants to help you and and answer questions to make you feel more comfortable. We didn't have our floors installed by them as we had our own contractor, but they never once pressured us on going with them. Compared to other big-box retailers, this store is very small, but these guys specialize in flooring and provide excellent service. A few times we needed extra items during installation so we called ahead and they had everything ready for us at the register already. The only complaint I'd have is that sometimes you have to wait to check out your items if employees are with other customers since they don't have anyone dedicated to the registers, but it's understandable. We even had questions regarding our stairs during installation so we called the store and Cortney went above and beyond to help answer them over the phone. She even suggested emailing pictures of our stairs to the store if we had any further questions or issues installing them. Overall, I'm very happy with LL and will definitely use them in the future if we have a need. read more

We drove over to this store in Mukilteo yesterday while we were comparison shopping for new flooring. First of all the store is so dark from the outside, we couldn't tell if it was open. We entered the store, and immediately felt very unwelcome. One person on the phone and the other person did acknowledge us saying "what are you looking for?" I answered "flooring" he responded "what kind" I said " waterproof laminate" he pointed to an aisle said "there are water resistant laminate with the blue square on the label and the aisle on the other side of the balloons has some waterproof." Then he walked back to his desk. We walked through their tiny showroom by ourselves not learning anything about their products, except I did notice one sample that had the laminate lifting off the board. Not good. I told my husband let's just leave and as we left we said thank you and we were met with nothing in return. No thanks for coming in, have a nice evening, you're welcome nothing, just silence. Obviously the one guy was just there for a paycheck. I won't be back to this store, I wouldn't give them a dime of our money. read more

They were upfront about the one cost of the flooring, but they did not disclose the additional fees until I started pressing about installation costs and other fees. They even said that the trim would match the color of the floor, I checked the receipt and asked why it wasn't there, and the employee assured me it was with the order. We decided to check this place out after we heard them advertising a tax free sale on the radio. It is a small showroom which I appreciate because we own a town home...not a huge space, I don't need to many choices. It is divided up in sections, Laminate, hardwood, bamboo, etc. The guy was helpful but just kind of sat back and let us do our thing until we were ready to see about purchasing. He didn't try to up sell us or anything like that which was nice but he just was kind of meh about all of it. We got our floor in about 2 weeks, right when they said. \ I would purchase from them again. read more

I ordered online from them and after a week of no status change in their order tracking, I left a message to customer service. The customering service messaging says to expect a message in two working days (!) and it was about 2 1/2 days later when I got a message stating the order was in store and ready for pickup (even though the online order tracking still indicated the order wasn't ready.) We went to the Mukilteo store (difficult to locate, set back from the street, but the second time around the block we found it.) Walked into the store / showroom and there was one person sitting at a terminal at the front. She didn't greet us and worked on the terminal for a full minute before asking us what we needed. I produced the paperwork for my online order and she told us to wait and someone would help us. 3-4 minutes later another person showed up in front, asked us what we wanted, I showed him the paperwork and he said he'd be with us in a minute. Another 5 minutes pass while he's helping another customer (the woman is still sitting at her terminal, saying nothing), when a third person comes out and asks us what we need. It takes him another 5 minutes but he tells us he'll bring our order out. We ended up getting what we needed, but this was the most remarkable indifferent customer service I can remember in a long time. The product itself wasn't bad, although it wasn't as cheap as I'd expected. I'll go back -- but only if I have no other choice... read more

To keep it simple: - The installation took 2x as long as quoted. - They regularly sent out only one crew member to do work at a time, likely leading to the delay. Product was already on site. - A member of their crew fell asleep in my house with a juul pod in his hand when I found him. I had to shake him awake, because he wouldn't respond to my verbal prompts. - I found an empty beer can in his lunch bag on the counter. Which certainly would suggest he was drinking at my house. - The store did absolutely nothing. Once my installation was complete, I didn't even receive a follow up phone call. Even a mediocre restaurant will ask you how your meal was. This was a $25,000 project. - I asked for a 10% refund after calling the store and the manager said because my account was closed at that point, there was nothing he could do. I called corporate and they offered me 1% back. I hired Lumber Liquidators to handle product and installation, with the impression that while expensive, the service and professionalism would be worth it. I was wrong. Do your self a favor, seek out another provider for your flooring needs. read more

Price - When you go to a place with "Liquidator" in the name you expect to be getting rock bottom prices. I shopped around at other places like Lowe's, Home Depot, and a few specialty flooring places and these guys definitely had better pricing. Service - Good? Not great but it was good. The guy that helped me seemed more interested in making a sale then in actually helping. He let me know that if I over purchased material I could bring the rest back and as long as it was unopened I could get 100% refund. That's something of a bold-faced lie. In the sales receipt you have to sign it says you can get 80% back if returned within the first 30 days. The manager confirmed this when I had to go back to modify my order before I accepted delivery. Quality - I got the bamboo flooring that came with a 30 year guarantee. It's not what I was expecting I suppose. It looks beautiful and it installed quickly (relatively) but even an empty kitchen garbage can (total weight 3 pounds) can scratch the surface. On the flip side my two dogs haven't been able to scratch it yet. It is hilarious to watch them spin out on it though. read more

I bought red oak hardwood from this location and by misunderstanding from both ends, I end up having wrong product but these guys right on top of it to fix it and get me the right product within 2-3 days from other store. Overall we are unhappy with what we got from these guys. We shopped, found what we wanted and were sent home with the wrong product number that was given to us from these guys. The product was ordered and was similar to what we wanted but not exactly it. When we picked it up it was too late to turn around and we would have had to wait another month for a new delivery. Do NOT use their installation contractor! We had a nightmare experience with the installation process. We reported concerns to the Mukilteo store where we made the purchase once toward the beginning of the installation process and were encouraged to stick with Magic Hardwoods as the contractor (because they were their best installer). We reported again at the end of the install with most of went wrong. LL Flooring asked us to write a detailed explanation of what happened. After submitting a detailed report, we received a response saying our situation was an anomaly and they would report the incident to higher ups who would investigate what had happened. It has been over a month now with no follow-up from LL Flooring, no offer to compensate for damage and loss. We had a great experience with the sales staff in the showroom and throughout the buying process. Sadly, now that the installation is complete, they don't seem to want to take any responsibility. Here is a very brief, summarized explanation of our experience. The install took 3 times longer than we were told at the start, The installer caused damage to our home and furniture. To top off the horrible experience, we caught the installer stealing full, unopened boxes of flooring as well as loose pieces from open boxes. Here is the longer version, but still condensed (it would be too long otherwise): We were told at the start of the install the process would take one week--starting Monday and ending Friday. It ended up taking them more than three weeks to complete the install! They sent one guy who worked an irregular schedule, sometimes short days, sometimes late into the evening, and on weekends. He worked much of the day with his cell phone tucked between his ear and shoulder, talking as he worked. He caused quite a bit of damage during the demo process that he "fixed" by throwing glue and painter's tape on everything. We had very minimal furniture in the spaces where the work was being done. I offered to help him move the furniture when it needed to be moved, but he went ahead and moved it himself causing damage to furniture. The brown colored, greasy glue used for installing the hardwoods was everywhere . . . on walls, on the newly installed flooring, on our brand new kitchen countertops, on door frames and kitchen cabinets. It does NOT wipe off easily. (When I asked LL Flooring about this issue when I returned surplus supplies, they said the installer should have cleaned the glue up and then offered to sell me an expensive, industrial size bottle of special cleaner to get it off myself). The installation supervisor and installer never seemed to be on the same page with schedule and what needed to be done. The supervisor would tell me one thing and the installer acted like he knew nothing of the schedule his supervisor was referring to. There were definitely communication issue between them, also between us and the installer due to language barriers. Early on in the process, the installer recognized some unrelated work we needed done and said he could call a friend come look at it. I said no thank you, but I would take his friend's name and number and would call him myself if I decided to go that route. Within 10 minutes of that conversation, the installer opens our front door to let his friend in who proceeds to check out our home. His friend was persistent and inaccurate in his assessment of the work we needed done; we asked him to leave. Very awkward. What made the experience worse, on what was supposed to be the last day of the install, I see the installer carrying unopened (straps still on) boxes of flooring out to his work van. I confronted him about what he was doing and he claimed it was all broken pieces. I told him I could see the boxes were unopened boxes and told him to bring them back. He brought 3 unopened boxes. We don't know how many he took, but the stack of flooring looked significantly smaller, so we suspect he took more. Also, we looked back at security footage and noticed when he would go outside to make cuts he would take multiple boards out to his van, but come back with one board. He claimed all those boards he took were broken . . . we have our doubts that many were broken. We reported the incident to the installation supervisor . . . no response back. LL Flooring says the installation contractor will generally order approximately 10% excess flooring to accommodate for broken pieces, for the purpose of selection in flooring pieces with variation, and to ensure there are a few boxes left over for the homeowner to save in case of damage to flooring later on. The installation contractor ordered at least 20% additional flooring. When I confronted the installer when I caught him taking unopened boxes, he made the comment more than once, "it's no problem, just a 10% cut". I asked him what he meant by that but he could not explain in English. Not sure what is going on there . . . but makes you wonder. read more

Their installers, "Elite Hardwoods", are the most unprofessional, dishonest, lazy people I have ever dealt with. We asked for the store, then corporate to have another installer come out and assess the installation. They don't have another installer in the area. We had another company come assess, they said the bedrooms all needed to be ripped out and redone. We had our entire upstairs done at a cost of almost 18k. Lumber Liquidators offered us $2000. Nightmare! Do not use this store/installers. Worst experience I have ever had with ANY company before! Im so sad! A few mos ago I decided to finally replace my floors after saving for what seemed forever. I had always heard great things about Lumber Liquidators so I instantly went to them without researching anyone else. (Big Mistake) The store was small but nice and Daniel was very pleasant, educated on the types of floors and durability. I decided on a laminet flooring called boardwalk with a 50 yr warrenty on sale for $1.99 sq ft. Not including installation.(Daniel said it was industrial strength as I have 4 small children) When delivered it only had a 30 yr warrenty on the packaging. Daniel gave me a number for a guy to come out and take measurements. That took approximately 2 weeks just for the guy to get out here. (Phone tag issues) After the store received my measurements, I went back to Mukilteo to place the order and give a deposit. At that time I told Daniel I wanted all white baseboard trim and the white trim for the stairs (AKA stair skirt). I explained to him i would be taking out all the old brown trim and wanted it replaced w white. He said I would need to paint it but it would come with primer and I would be responsible for calking the joints as the installer did not do that. He assured me it was the cheapest around @ $1.69 a foot not including installation. (Found it last night at Lowes $1.47 a foot) Well, It took another 2 to 3 weeks to get the wood in and then another week to have it delivered ($290) from a subcontractor Apparently, Lumber Liquidators doesn't deliver their own products. The flooring was brought in and laid in the middle of my livingroom. Not stacked against a wall but in the middle of my livingroom. I just had surgery and was on crutches and I was literally barricaded in. Had to have my husband move it all and restack it! I paid them to deliver this. The wood sat in my livingroom for another 2 weeks before i got an install date of June 4th. As i was painting the stair risers and baseboard trim I saw several pieces were split, cracked or severly damaged. This wood is the show piece of the stairs! I had to putty and sand and paint 3 coats of paint to make them just ok to use. It was supposed to take 2 to 3 days tops to finish the floor and trim completely. It has now been 5 days, and the house is only 1/2 way finished. They sent out a kid who is just 20 yrs old with no other help. Yesterday a crew of 2 Ukrainian men came out to work on the stairs. They put them in incorrectly. They did not put on the stair skirt. When i asked why they said it was not in the order and didnt know. I said well, it needs to be fixed. The stairs are unfinished and the walls are damaged. The installer (Vladimir) said he could not put the skirt on now. Its to late. He told me to call his boss (Paul). Paul said if i paid $3200.00 more he would take all the stairs off, put the skirt on then replace the stairs. I told him no! This was his mistake or the stores and i would not pay to fix it. I have already paid $6200.00 for 800sq ft of laminet! That is ridiculous. I took pictures of the wall damage and sent them to the manager (Paul) who did absolutly nothing but instructed the installer to putty and paint the wall damage. There is a 1/4-1/2 inch gap between the stair tread and the white risers that they did not bother to seal so dirt and other objects can get lodged behind the stair. I told Paul this and he instructed the installer to calk it nicely. The trim looks like garbage and so does the hardware on crawl space. I shouldn't have to tell them how to do there jobs nor should i pay $3200.00 for their mistake. My beautiful house looks like a cheap hack job! Not only that, they left black hand prints all over the white wood i just painted and didnt bother to wash it off. They left stacks of my new flooring outside and its raining warping the boards! They took my door off the hinge and left it on my porch. I was standing on the porch and the wind blew the door over and it almost knocked me out. I just had ankle reconstruction and am on crutches. I am so upset and disappointed. I wish i had never gone through this company. I have a general contractor coming out tonight to quote me a price to install the stair skirt since Lumber Liquidators is refusing to fix their mistakes. He just left and quoted me $500 and told me that the quality of work was a joke. He showed me several areas that were cut wrong and told me i would have issues with expansion in the future. Ive called and left messages with 3 people now at lumber liquidators but no one will call me back. No one will take the blame for the mistakes and no one is willing to fix it. My kitchen and bathroom are unusable until this project is finished. Save yourself a nightmare and go with a better company.
