In mid-July 2021 we pulled up carpeting to discover solid oak flooring in three rooms on the lower level of the home owned by my daughter and son-in-law.. Our initial elation was tempered a little when we uncovered some badly patched areas that we thought might not be able to be repaired. But then we contacted Hardwood Perfections. They came out quickly and advised us that indeed they could repair all of the damage and could do it on a timetable that fit perfectly into our plans. The floor refinishing crew did amazing work. After pulling up all of the damaged materials they rebuilt portions of the subfloor and then laced in new oak boards in a way that matched the existing floor perfectly. Next were several rounds of sanding to remove the old finish and even out everything. On the third and final day they applied Bona Natural water-based sealer followed by three coats of Bona matte finish. The results were stunning. Hardwood Perfections completely transformed this living space into something beautiful and amazing. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail was flawless. All along the way we were advised of what was happening so there were never any surprises. Hardwood Perfections finished the job a full day ahead of schedule, did amazing work and stuck right to the estimate for services. What was quoted and agreed to was not done. We needed our hardwood refinished. Slav said they would seal off the rooms and cabinets. Glad we covered things, that was not done or done very well. Slav said they would move the range and seal there, they didn't. Said they would remove the trim, not looking like they did. Now wondering about under the fridge. Why write this? I was not home for this work, recommend that you see that what was agreed to is done. I paid for those things. Getting refund for range and sealing off rooms, but would rather have had the work done right than discover what wasn't done. As for the refinishing, they nailed the loose boards I identified and sanded/sealed. Looks good. read more

We had great results. I read the other negative reviews. We never signed anything that said must write a positive review. Slav's quotes were a little better or ballpark than some other quotes. Per other negative review, Slav did always answer our questions via text, but I prefer text so I can see it quickly. We had a leak that affected three rooms so we decided to continue our whole first story in solid 2.5 inch red oak plank to match our old and pull out the carpet. We paid for half, and the wood was delivered in our house to climatize. We stayed while Nester was here pulling out our carpeting and installing our new hardwood. He laced our old hardwood with our new wood to perfection. I can't tell the difference between the original wood and the new wood. We made sure that Slav knew we were leaving and we couldn't change our dates for the hotel. We left for the sanding and sealing. I did matte 2 coats of Bona Nordic Seal to try and take out the red and 1 coat Bona HD Traffic. His team of two arrived next. We came back after 3 days. It was done and beautiful. The photo with the garbage can shows old and new wood where new was laced in with the old. The baseboards were put back on for caulking. I have no complaints. I've included photos. We are so happy at how it turned out. I should say the lighting in our house, verses natural lighting slightly changes color of wood in the photos. read more

It was so easy to work with Hardwood Perfections when getting new hardwood flooring in my bedroom. Even though it was a small job for them, they kept me updated on details and worked with me to fit the job into their schedule. Nestor installed the flooring and did a perfect job, including figuring out a solution to a tricky doorway. When he finished, the room was spotless; everything was wiped down and cleaned up. Same quality work as any other contractor (no special customer service or workmanship) but their contract says they can sue you if you write an accurate review (a review that can be seen as derogatory in any way). I didn't sign any contract so I can write an accurate review here. The project was refinishing a hardwood floor in older but very nice and expensive house. There was nothing special like stairs, just flooring. It had never been finished before so in places the floor showed a lot of wear and tear. 1) Their contract had red flags (big warnings to not sign it) all over the place. The contract the customer states they will not do any reviews that could be seen as negative about the company anywhere or you will owe them $100 for every day the review was posted (since I didn't sign the contract I can post an accurate review). This means they can do an awful job and if you accurately report what they did, they can threaten you and sue you. That explains why there is only good reviews on yelp - unfortunately these reviews do not accurately reflect how the company does work. The contract also was heavily skewed towards the company, e.g. if they didn't finish the job or do it well then you could not hire someone else to finish/fix the job, you had to wait until they had a chance to do it even if it took months for them to come work on it (e.g. they got all the say even if they were doing a poor job and not fixing it or were leaving it half undone for months). They also included a lot of vague reasons they could leave the job unfinished without returning the substantial down payment they asked for. We didn't sign the contract because of these clauses, the owner claimed to have no knowledge what the contract said and agreed to do the job without a signed contract because "it was a simple job". I have attached the paragraph saying customers can not give any accurate review if it might possibly be seen as disparaging (e.g. they didn't do a good job and you report that). 2) Their quality of work was not any better than other companies that have been reviewed here on Yelp. While they took off baseboard their machines scraped up the walls in many places, a couple places required a drywall repair not just touch up paint. When they were contacted to complain about leaving the walls this way, they stated the estimate and the contract stated they would be leaving scraped up walls. However this was not stated in either the estimate nor the contract which we never signed. They would not fix the damage they caused. We had to pay a couple hundred dollars to get the wall damage repaired. 3) We were not allowed to be in the house while they worked. They were supposed to check with us at various intervals (e.g. after the wood was prepped before it was stained, before the final coat was put on so we could ok the color, etc.). Communication was very poor, we were told you can't go in yet then all of a sudden told it was done. So we didn't get to complain on poor workmanship until it was all done and very difficult to get corrected. 4) When there is wood that needs to be repaired in hardwood floors, the proper method is to cut a piece of wood to size, take out the old piece of wood and put the new piece in - all before the sanding is done so that the floor surface is level and prepped for the new finish to be put on. They didn't give any choices of how to fix problem spots - they just put putty on the spots and then stained it a color that was nothing like the rest of the floor so those spots stood out like a sore thumb. When we complained they said we had approved that (we didn't) and that this was the best they could do (it was not). They also didn't get approval for the cost of this work before approving it and they charged several hundred dollars extra for very poor workmanship (throw some putty on, then hand stain it a bad color). 5) They didn't talk about different finishes, the pros and cons of them or how they would look. They only asked what color was wanted and were told the same color. However, what they really did was use the same finish (a cheaper finish not a better quality finish) and that finish changes over the years so the color was nowhere near the old color. The baseboards, wall colors, etc. over the years had been changed to match the existing color and now the color was a lot lighter and didn't look as nice. I highly recommend going elsewhere just because of the very deceptive practices that Slav does running his company. read more

All futher communications via text, no onsite eval. Red Flag. Slav immediately quoted standard costs, requested cutomer send pictures. Pics sent. Quote; $3 install p/sq ft. Labor only, nothing else. Customer provide all materials, per customer request. Then Slav: removal fee of carpet $1 additional, hardwood $2 additional. Install does not include that, plus removal/reset of baseboards, $300 more? Really? Ding, Ding!! Customer to remove doors. (Later learned this service free, so why Slav tell customer responsibility on paperwork? Wierd) Red Flags. Removal fee ($1)includes waste disposal of carpet/pad, however we quoted $200 extra for dump fee, bonus for Slav? Guess our job not lucrative enough, Ding, Ding! Payment terms: Slav: pay via bank transfer (CASH), pay 50% up front. For what? Customer providing all materials? So, customer pays 50% labor befor any job site work? Red Flag. Scheduling?? Weeks? Our money in your bank account earning us Zero? Slav; we dont take cc. I as consumer wish to use my rewards cc as benefit to me( points, money back, Amazon credits), and a cc provides protections to consumer if service provider does not perform. Nope, HP wants a one sided, customer unfriendly business policy. Customer will gladly pay any processing fees to HP for benefits and protections. Nope, HP policy. That policy sucks! HP threatens litigation for negative reviews. Red Flag. HP will never win that free speech battle. Slav; a negative post is unecessary. Customer disagrees, those who read this post will be educated against HP practices and policy. Saving others money, time and negative experience. After Slav's last text, full of excuses and complete disregard for customer service and basic business integrity of HP, BLOCKED HIM and this post. Shop around, will not recommend HP. In fact, a handyman, at a fraction of the expense, very capable of installing Traffic Master laminate (most common flooring in the US) was a much better decision. Much more customer friendly, no texting, in person estimate, full discloure on-site. Instead of the surprise filled texts of Slav, almost daily. Dont go there. HP is way over priced for a simple job, and way over-rated. But, most of the publuc has no idea how HP is taking advantage of the everyday consumer. People who know no better. Well, this post should help avoid that outcome, hire elsewhere. Your pocket book and peace of mind will thank you! Say no to Hardwood Perfections. BTW, you can look up a WA LLC on WA Sec. Added hardwood to the final room in our home. What a professional group of craftsmen. Bill (the owner) came twice during the job to see progress. The job, managed by Andrew, and performed by Jesus' and David was outstanding from start to finish. I was given a time frame by which it would be completed which it was completed. They matched the color excellently which was critical in that the rooms flow together separated only by a step down into the adjoining room which had carpet in it. We have two indoor cats whose health and susceptibility to fumes was a concern. The room was isolated and partitioned to prevent impact Highly recommend these guys. read more

Once we signed the purchase agreement, Hardwood Perfections accommodated our schedule to perform the work. Demo, install and refinishing was done by different employees each followed COVID protocols, kept me informed on their schedule and cleaned up each evening. Our project was around 500 sq feet of new unfinished 3 1/4" hardwood with a natural red oak matte finish. The outcome is beautiful and exceeded our expectations. I'm sorry to say that it obviously was necessary. Our situation was emergent due to a possibility of mold. Taking over a week, one yelp message, two voicemails, and a text to finally send an estimate is not a good business practice. We had a great experience with Slav and team. They were very prompt and patient at the same time in responding to all our questions. The team was knowledgeable and did an awesome job in replacing the carpets on our upper floor with hardwood flooring. They also identified an issue with the floor surface being uneven in our master bedroom(something which the home builders messed up initially during construction) and helped with fixing it as well. Brandon and Stas are great to work with. I had an urgent hardwood refinishing project to be completed before tenants moving in and they show up really quick after I contacted Vlad. Their quote is reasonable and the crew can start the work right in the next couple days so we had a deal. We just had our 26 year old hardwood floors refinished for the very first time. They now look brand new and actually better than the original floor. It's been amazing experience with Stas from the beginning. I am very choosy and meticulous person so when it came down to choosing hardwood refinishing company for our old home, I called several companies for comparison. I made a list companies from yelp pages with only good reviews plus some referred from my agent and neighbors/friends. Out of all the companies I've talked to and have estimated, Hardwood Perfections stood out from the beginning. Stas and Brandon showed up on time in uniform with all tools prepared to measure the house, gave me estimate with detailed breakdowns. They were very polite and professional and easily approachable when I had questions. Their quote was not the lowest of all contractors I've contacted but still reasonable and very competitive - very close to the lowest bid I received. Also, I get to choose what service would included or not. For example, we wanted to take old carpet away ourselves to save some money and Stas understood and had no problem deducting carpet removal portion from the total cost. In fact, after all the time and effort we spent, considering tools and truck rental and garbage disposal fee, I now think that their service charge for carpet removal is actually a good deal in the beginning. Now, here's the most impressive part. We've decided buff the surface and put one fresh coat. The professional who actually worked on the project was different person and once his work was done, my wife and I were not happy about the result. So, I contacted Stas again and he took care of the issue immediately and professionally. Basically he offered me to do the refinish work at no additional cost except the material which was simply amazing customer service. It took another 3 days finally finish the work and the floor looks gorgeous. We are very happy and satisfied customer and we have decided to hire them again for entire basement flooring and baseboard for main floor. I will write another review once additional project is complete this week but for now I wanted to share this great experience with Stas at Hardwood Perfections for such a great service. We are extremely happy with the service we received from Vlad. He truly cares about his customers and the quality of his work. We had him refinish the hardwood floor in our house. But we also discovered a small area of water damage requiring replacement of the hardwood. However, we couldn't locate the original make and manufacturer. But Vlad was willing to go the extra mile and try to fabricate a close match for it in his workshop. After completing the refinishing job, he even came back a few days later to check that the whole floor had been done right and that we were happy - a sign of his commitment to his craft and of genuine customer service! I will try to point out strictly the facts about my experience and not exaggerate. Long story short, please do not consider using Hardwood Perfections. Here is how I needed their services and what I experienced. We had water damage in our kitchen. The whole main floor was hardwood, except the bedrooms. There was a ~150 square foot section of kitchen floor that would have to be replaced. I was also about to install hardwood in the bedrooms and decided to have them perform that install and finishing since they were already doing some work at the house. To be upfront, I mistakenly bought unmatched wood for my bedrooms, but was okay with that since they're separate rooms. Looks okay going from hallway to a bedroom. In case there's a rebuttal, I want this clearly stated up front. Here are the problems: Kitchen: They used the wrong wood. Wood did not even closely match what was near it. And the installers never even bothered to ask or check... they just installed it and left it to me to figure it out. We eventually negotiated a discount, but before even landing on what that discount would be, the owner, Vlad, was threatening to put a lien on my house. Again, we had not yet even come to final bill and he's threatening that. Also in the kitchen, since the floor cabinets and island were all pulled out, when they installed the new wood, the installers cut the electrical wiring nearly flush with the floor. The challenges in this were discovered when an electrician went to reinstall the island outfit and did not have enough wire. This was a significantly more expensive electrical cost. This was discovered well after we had settled on our bill. Sadly I did not take into account what else you'll see below, or the electrical issue they caused. Bedroom number one: once complete, they left the closet doors in the garage. But they did screw down the holder into the floor. Turns out those closet doors no longer fit. I have to get new ones. They should have measured and informed us. They did not. And again, they just left this for me to discover on my own. Bedroom number two: they did notre-attach the guide for closet doors, so they just swing in and out. Sure, I can install that, but why skip that? There were a few water bottles and balls of tape left on my front porch. Not a big bag or pile, but several pieces of trash left to blow around. They finished the entire floor. The new floor in the kitchen, the new floor in the bedrooms, and the rest of the existing floor to match. The finish itself is fine, but the installers managed to bump and scuff nearly every single wall. I had to spend several hours painting over the wall marks as I couldn't get the marks to scrub off the newly painted walls. On the positive side, they're not against shifting costs from the personal side of the project (out of pocket) to the insurance-billed side of the project. Though I do believe that that may be considered insurance fraud... If you're okay with that, then they might help you that way. Long story short: -Wrong wood used and they didn't bother to check -Did not inform that closet doors may not fit and left to discover to customer -Did not complete re-install of other closet doors -Trash left out -Careless with banging and marking up walls -Financially threatening read more
