This place became home for me for a month or so while I was in Austin during the holidays. The vibe here is different from many other yoga studios - it is calm, friendly, easy-going. My nervous system felt relaxed and welcomed. They provide all the equipment, including mats. Check-in is easy, the room is beautiful and large, and the best part - their instructors. They draw in a community of teachers who share that mindful easeful style of teaching. There's no rush, no push, no competition. My body felt great after a few weeks of classes - no aches or pains, no strain, but moving with greater flexibility and more mobile. I also loved the Breathwork classes with Anais, who is also an incredible tarot reader, the sound meditation with Meg where it felt like every cell of my body was resetting, and the somatic dance class with Liz (the owner), which was healing and nurturing. Came here for the sauna and cold plunge. They were doing a BOGO deal. So i called the day of and was able to book a room. If you bring a guest, it's $20 so I saved the other sauna and cold plunge pass for another day. Thanks for the tip! There are 3 rooms, I think. You can do the infrared sauna (doesn't feel so hot) or the traditional hot sauna. We did the hot sauna. The instructions are inside the rooms: 15 minutes sauna followed by 1-2 minutes cold plunge. We knew how hot the sauna was because there was a thermometer (185F), wish we knew how cold the ice bath was. We left feeling very relaxed. They provide towels and shower, if you need to. I like it here and will look into the massages and yoga classes. read more

Today was my first time visiting Lizard yoga spa and it was amazing! I attended the 7pm Yin and Sound class which was 75 minutes and worth every second! The lighting was very relaxing and the sound bowls helped to calm racing thoughts. Check was very easy and the front desk attendant was kind, since it was my first time her she showed me where the water fountain, bathrooms and studio was. I appreciated the tour. I've been to Lizard Yoga for a sound bath and their contrast therapy. Both were new experiences for me and Lizard Yoga was the perfect setting for that. They're super welcoming and do a great job of explaining whatever you're there for. Contrast Therapy: The private suite I was in was very clean and very serene. While a cold plunge is never super calming, I felt as though I was set up for success with the rotation and directions. The sauna was spacious and I truly felt like a new person when I came out. Sound Bath: I don't think I've ever felt more relaxed in my life! I can't put this experience into words but I highly recommend it. Facilities: Both the studio area and the spa area are very well kept. There are showers in the spa area. Parking: There's a large lot outside of the studio. read more

Didn't accept ClassPass on an event we booked through ClassPass. We were sprung with a $45/per person charge when we arrived when this has never been the case for cacao ceremonies in the past at Lizard Yoga. Additionally, we were given attitude by the front desk girl when we were confused and shocked by the last minute pricing. Do not add events to ClassPass that ClassPass won't be accepted for! We wasted time, gas, and effort by scheduling our day around this event we were excited for. read more

Came here for a massage, yoga, and infrared sauna with cold plunge. Great deal for newbies! Very relaxing. Yoga here is more focused on breathwork than a workout, at least of the class I tried out. Nice clean facilities, South Austin neighborhood feel :) read more

I found lizard yoga when I visited Austin and I fell in love. I came in for contrast therapy everytime I was in town (ice/sauna) Now I moved here and attended the yin yoga & sound bath on Wednesday with Natalie, which was amazing. After an emotional day it was the perfect integration and reset for my body and nervous system. I slept like a rock and truly hope they keep that class going read more

Andrea Yarbrough is literally the BEST masseuse I've come across in Austin so far. I've had several appointments with her and every time I walk away from her massages, I feel all tension and pain released. Her warmth, kindness and passion to heal is magical and she always makes you feel so welcome. She showed me how to use a gua sha on some of the joints in my arms and it's been a game changer! I can't recommend her enough!! If your looking to get some reiki done, look no further! My reiki session with Christina Forras was one of the most transending experiences I've ever had. Through Christina's calming presence, I felt like a blossoming lotus by the end of the session. All the stress I had been holding onto began to unfurl petal by petal. I left with my chakras feeling harmoniously aligned and my body in a blissful state of relaxation. She is definitely connected to a higher vibration and I am so grateful that she shares her practice with those around her. Will most definitely book again! read more

The staff was really friendly and welcoming which I always appreciate and I hate to be writing this review but its coming from a place of constructive feedback. I just came from my first visit/yoga class here and I felt compelled to share this not because of any negative feeling but because I genuinely feel very strongly about the art of yoga. To me yoga is about flow, fluid movement, and curating a space that allows one to access those those feelings and movements. The class I just took was awkward and mechanical. I'm not sure if the instructor was new/in training which I have compassion for but I shouldn't be in a class where no music is playing and the instructor is counting to five like an elementary school teacher trying to silence her class between every single pose. There were no fluid transitions, no interesting movements, and it felt really difficult to even be present because I was so thrown off by the vibe. Halfway through the class I was totally checked out and half heartedly doing the motions. I wouldn't come back here for a class but implore the studio to be mindful of working to create an experience within a class that flows the way yoga is intended to. read more
