I drew up my own design and chose the plants myself for height, sun and water needs so I can't speak of their expertise in that area, but they did exactly what I wanted and I'm very pleased with the outcome. We had our landscaping done by Living Elements for our backyard as well as our front yard for some curb appeal. They were recommended to us by a friend and I'm so glad that we went with them. We had our initial quote done a year ago by Matt who was so respectful, honest, and responsive. However, life happened and we decided to postpone our landscaping project. But when the time came to revisit our landscape project, I knew I wanted to reach out to them again. They were in my top two choices because of the impression that Matt made a year ago, their reasonable price, and the company also seemed to have an organized system. This time we met with Firas and Yasmine. Firas also exhibited the same level of professionalism as Matt and was so easy to talk to. He communicated well with us and checked up on our project regularly. Our yard might be considered a smaller project for the company but it didn't seem like it with the amount of attention that they provided. We also really appreciate how hands-on Yasmine was with helping us design our project. She was also very flexible with the changes that we needed to make. Problems were solved and issues were fixed without any defensive excuses. We are also thankful for her knowledge and recommendations with regards to our plant choices. Lasly, we had a stellar crew that worked on our yard. It was only 2-3 people at a time who worked on our project which made it more personal. Our main landscape foreman was Jorge and he was detail-oriented and went above expectations. He and the crew made sure that they cleaned up the workplace everytime, they were mindful of the noise pollution, helped us navigate the drip irrigation system, and educated us on maintaining our new yard. Also, as a bonus, I noticed that they segregated their trash properly between regular trash, recycling materials, and green waste. A little thing but speaks volume of their work ethic. Just honestly impressed by the crew's level of professionalism and respectfulness. They're efficient, responsive, and mindful. We have met with different contractors and worked with a great number of people, and I would place the landscaping crew that worked with us in the top 1%. We had a good experience with Living Elements overall. Their prices are very reasonable compared to others in the area, and the work is good quality. The team was friendly and responsive, especially Firas who was always willing to talk to us and answer our questions. They fulfilled our vision for our yard, and it was completed in a timely manner. The only part of the experience I wish had gone differently was the consultation with the plant person. Being a novice regarding gardening and plants, I only knew which plants looked pretty, but had no idea about annuals vs perennials, soil considerations, etc. I only wish she had taken a little extra time to ask whether we wanted to have to replant every year, and educated us on our options. However, I also realize that I didn't know the right questions to ask at the time, which would have helped guide our consultation with her better. I had Living Elements Landscaping (LEL) replace 2 sidewalks on either side of my house, which were original to the house when it was built 25 years ago. Shoddy workmanship was done by original builders. The LEL crew worked hard removing old concrete, setting up framing, rebar/gravel/sand and pouring/finishing new concrete in 100 weather. Wow! Had a big project to do, a lot of different things in my vision to accomplish so I called living elements. They had close to a 5 star rating and the office scheduled me same day, felt like a win win. Kareem came out on time and ready to roll, he measured the whole backyard an gave me a price. After considering the other bids, the quality and price offered was very competitive and non salesy which was nice. As with any big project things come up, some were good some were bad, we can't see the future but at least I had communication throughout, literally a text away from an answer. If I could turn back time and not work with this company, I would. Communication and logistics with this company is terrible. You have to repeat your color, paint, mulch, rock choices multiple times because they have no effective system to manage their projects. Every single step of the process is disjointed, from design to execution. Of what they ultimately finished, I am okay with, but they took years to work on my backyard when it should have been a season and then ultimately ghosted me after I paid them close to $100k, without completing the job. (They installed the electrical to my custom spa without installing the control panel. Now no electrician will touch the job.) Completely unethical company. If anyone ever has questions about my experience I'm happy to answer them. They also tried to convince me to do work without permits. For a landscaping company, they also do not know their plants and gave me French instead of English lavender. Yikes. I have been told by numerous companies now to complain to the State Contractors License Board, which is my next step. This company should not be in operation. read more

We hired Living Elements to transform our front and back yards and they did an amazing job. From the first walkthrough to the last, the staff was courteous, knowledgeable and flexible.   The first walkthrough/estimate with Matt went very well.  He immediately saw our vision and was able to make recommendations and suggestions to help synchronize our ideas.  We then met and worked with Gina who created the design for both the front and back yards.  We went through a few iterations and she was always available and willing to make changes. We were really excited to chat with Living Elements Landscape about getting turf or sod installed in our yard after reading a lot of the reviews here and on Google. We had a consultation time set up with Firas, and the actual consultation was so disappointing. I guess maybe our project was so low budget it wasn't worth his time, but he spent less than 10 minutes entirely, never really got to talk about us and what we want, offer opinions or suggestions. Hired this company to redo our front and back yards and what should have been a two week project turned into over a month. Matt owns Living Elements and Frias owns Forever Green which was never explained to me. Delay after delay, Project manager would drop in occasionally And usually because I would complain things were not correct. Almost everything according to the plans had to be redone. Front yard hard to be redone because it was done wrong the first time. Had to hire a lighting company to redo the lighting. same with the Electrical. The day labors they hire from Home Depot were very hard to communicate with since we don't speak Spanish. We paid over $27K and are very disappointed in what we received. Reached out to the Living Elements office to get a quote for my backyard and was immediately given an appointment for a free estimate with Matt. Matt offered his expertise and with our general idea, offered suggestions as to how he would optimize our space. After receiving a few quotes, we decided to work with Living Elements as they were reasonably priced while providing the services we wanted (grass, concrete, sitting wall with planter box). On the first day of our project, we were introduced to James, our project manager. From day 1, James ensured that we were happy every step of the way. While he brought samples for us to look at initially, we wanted to see more but could not find time to go to the showroom. The entire process and results EXCEEDED my expectations. I had some grass removed and landscaped with drip irrigation in the front and back. I'm happy to write this positive review of Living Elements landscape service based on my recent outstanding experience with them. After basic research and a few phone calls to local landscape companies, I selected Living Elements. The reviews on their website were largely favorable, they immediately responded to my inquiry, and everything moved smoothly and quickly from there. Project Manager, Firas, immediately put me in touch with their landscape designer, Gina, who was a pleasure to work with. We spent a couple of weeks going back and forth until final design was reached. She helped ensure the plant types and quantities met the criteria required by the City of Sacramento's lawn removal rebate program. And her design was/is beautiful - neighbors have stopped by saying how much they like our new front yard and to ask questions about the process. Firas kept everything moving forward and the Living Elements crew went to work removing our entire lawn and all of our plants, which were few. Karim was an excellent leader of the crew - all of who were positive, pleasant, and super hard working. And boy, did they move fast! Everything was done in 8 days! But even though the project was basically complete, there are always a few things that come up. Firas and Karim were both very responsive and helped with the unexpected issues. I purchased a Rachio watering timer - part of the lawn removal rebate program requirements - and I had some trouble with the timer. And one of my existing/repurposed Rainbird lines failed. They helped with the repair and spent time helping me program the Rachio timer. As the weeks went by, there were a couple of other items that came up and Firas quickly deployed a crew member to take care of the issues. If you plan on applying for the City of Sacramento's lawn removal rebate program, be sure to do your own homework and communicate clearly what you need from Living Elements. It is a partnership and ultimately up to the homeowner to communicate the criteria and ensure you get what you need. That's how I handled it and it worked out really well. Working with Matt at Living Elements was a phenomenal customer service experience! My husband & I initially requested an estimate in Fall 2020 to refresh our landscaping that we had completed with a different company 4 years ago who would not come back to do a "smaller" job. Matt was very responsive to emails and text messages to coordinate an initial estimate of plant removal, checking all emitters on our existing drip line (something other companies had refused to do), & updating plants/bark in our front & back yards at our suburban home. He provided an overall price estimate and further broke it down so we could understand where our money was going. We decided to wait until Spring 2021 when we could better afford the work, as we believed his pricing to be fair. When I reached back out 6 months later, Matt emailed me back immediately to schedule a brief walkthrough to confirm our desires were still the same. He honored the same estimate and scheduled the work for 2 weeks out; even though we made a couple small changes or added a couple extra plants, he did not "nickel and dime" us. Matt and his crew were punctual and friendly, and Matt remained responsive to texts and ensuring our needs were met. Picking plants was an easy process thanks to Matt's laminated book of plant photos and personal recommendations based on our plant and color preferences. Matt did a great job helping us make choices to enhance our existing landscape and his crew completed all the work in 2 days.
