It is rare that I am wowed by a dinner experience to the level I was at Livery! Everything was perfect from the moment I walked in the door. The staff was warm and welcoming. They provided great recommendations, smiled, and were so accommodating. Reading the menu had my mouth watering and I wanted to try the whole thing. Such unique combos and rich flavors represented! I settled on the charred grilled romaine salad and the pan de queso. Both were truly exceptional. I have plans to go back to try many more items. The restaurant itself was beautiful and clean and a great place for catching up with an out of town friend. This place is a feast of the senses. Every dish comes out looking super fancy and pops with all sorts of unique flavors. Even the fun little crisps they bring out as a sort of "free bread" appetizer were dusted with flavor. I would recommend coming with at least one other person if not a group so you can share a bunch of different items. That will also help with the cost since things add up quickly. Working in the restaurant industry myself, the attentiveness on our arrival was lacking. We sat at the bar since there was no wait. With not many customers sitting at the bar, I noticed that no one greeted or made eye contact with us. There were several employees that went go back and forth in front of us, some with their backs to us, and then one server finally made eye contact, but said nothing. We finally had someone acknowledge us after 10+ minutes to let us know that someone would be with us. I completely understand that things get busy and it's still in its new phase. But a suggestion, be more aware of new people that sit down at the bar and just touch base with them sooner than 10 minutes, even if it's just a "hey!" That being said, once we did receive service, thereafter it was fine. Everything was great! The drinks...the food. And the food was served promptly and it was very tasty. This won't deter me from visiting again because there were several items on the menu that I would like to try. And again, it's fairly new and it definitely seems like a place that's still helping teach and grow its staff to flow together as a team. I would recommend people trying out the place. I got to attend the soft opening. Here is my review. The ambiance is beautiful and definitely an eye catcher. Service started off rocky but ended really well overall (it was the soft opening so they definitely made it right). Even got to the meet the manager Brandon he was super nice and wanted to make sure the remaining time and service was great which it was!! -The Chicharróns (free table snack) 1.5/5 not my favorite but good flavor it -Yuca Fries appetizer w/queso 4.5/5 -Street Corn (i got it off the cob but you can keep it cob on i just had a cute shirt i didn't want to get messed up lol) 4.5/5 straight forward and flavor was good! -Flank Steak w/ fried polenta and broccoli 4/5: im not the biggest fan of broccolini but the jalapeño butter and polenta along with my steak cooked medium (not pictured they had to remake) was amazing! -Orange Cream Dream Flan 3.5/5 im not a huge orange dessert person but the flan was excuted flawlessly. We started with the Yuka Fries - the sauce is served underneath so you don't have to worry about too much being on them, but the fries have a lot of salt in them. We tried the Irish Goodbye and Summer Daze cocktails. The cocktails were okay. I wouldn't get the Irish goodbye again - really didn't taste the whisky. We got the taco salad (great seasonings), queso empanadas (nice flavoring and empanadas were full), steak empanadas (also good flavoring), and the shrimp tacos (they have a huge "kick" - very spicy). We were excited to try a new place and cuisine. We had a reservation and were sat upon arrival. Their version of chicharrones are pretty good. We gobbled them up. We gobbled up the guacamole & black bean side too. I love their homemade hardy chips. Their cocktails are "premade" so I passed on having one as I prefer made from scratch as I order. My husband enjoyed his Roja. Our foood was delivered fast! My steak was rare (I didn't order that). They willingly remade it overdone. But it still tasted good. I'm glad this new place is here. Last night we decided to treat ourselves to an "adult" dinner at this restaurant, which we'd seen being birthed in our regular trips up and down Montgomery Road over the past few months. To say Livery exceeded our expectations would be a gross understatement. From the way we were welcomed at the door to our interactions with our server to the dramatic but comfortable decor and the trendy turns on food-items-you'd-recognize menu selections, we knew we were in for a lovely, relaxing evening. Nevertheless, both grasped audibly when we saw the beautiful Manchego salad our server put before us. The serving was generous enough to comfortably split. Then we each chose an "entree:" I chose the Brussels sprouts from the appetizer menu. My husband went with the steak empanadas, a plate of three. The sprouts were beautifully done- chewy but not tough, sort of smoky and crispy on the outside and tender in the inside. That they were snuggled under a drift of what tasted like freshly grated Parmesan only added to their luxurious flavor. And although my husband said the empanadas were delicious, he seemed more concerned with eating them than talking about them! All in all, this is a nice, welcoming, relaxing, relatively affordable, lovely place to celebrate being a grownup on a Friday night. We will be back, and I'd suggest you check it out too! So, so good. Everything we had packed so much flavor. Our server brought us a little free app of these little fried pinwheels... they were crunchy, and dusted with a delicious little spice blend. They were a fun little start to our meal! We started with ceviche, which was so fresh and delicious. It just tasted like sunshine. The chips were crunchy and hot off the press. My wife's paella was INSANE. There were just so many different flavors dancing on your palette. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the spicy punch from the jalapeños was awesome. I ordered the skirt steak and it was phenomenal. The polenta fries were a neat little take on a starchy component. The tres leches was really good but those churros were just perfect. I have to say that I wasn't expecting much. I looked over the menu prior to going over there for lunch with my husband. We were like, ok this is a simple menu (one page). We already made assumptions about the food being average before heading out. Boy were we wrong lol! I remembered telling my husband that you can't judge a menu. Had the Mahi Mahi Tacos during Taco week, and it was pretty gross. The fish was grilled in 2in. small squares and only one square per taco, then covered with mayo and iceberg lettuce. My daughter had the grilled shrimp, broccolini and rice. The shrimp was dry and overcooked, and broccolini covered and dripping in oil. Truly the only thing good about our entire experience were the churros and our super kind server. read more

My family enjoyed a dinner here recently and really enjoyed our meal. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The server and service were excellent. Our drinks and food came in a timely manner, and we enjoyed every single dish and drink that we ordered. We especially liked the ceviche and street corn. They did have to recook my skirt steak, as it was overcooked. But once corrected, it was delicious! We had a toddler with us, and it was great that there was a fountain right outside that she could enjoy! We did sit inside, and it was extremely noisy. Thus, the one less star. read more

If I could give 3.5 stars, I would. The Livery was better than, "OK" but I am not sure it is quite "good" (those are the descriptions for 3 and 4 stars, respectively). I'll start with the positive: - The service was good, both at the bar and at our table. - The drink I had was good. I forgot what it was called - something fire, I believe. It was the mezcal based cocktail on the drink menu. It was a little spicy, a little smokey and not too sweet. - Some of the food: - Shrimp tacos were tasty. I like that they were not loaded with sauce. - Brussel sprouts had good flavor - Ceviche was decent. I prefer it with a little less bell pepper, as those can overpower taste if the seafood, but it was pretty good. On the negative side: - Not being able to mix and match the empanadas or the tacos may be one of the dumbest restaurant menu decisions I've ever seen. Each order comes with three and there are several options that sound good. It's clear from the server's reaction that they're asked about mixing and matching all the time. Really, really odd choice to not allow it. - The queso was bland and pretty runny. - The margarita (the second one of two on the menu) was overly sweet The Livery is a kind of restaurant that I won't choose to go back to on my own, but if friends decide they want to go there for a dinner out, I won't argue against it. I am not sure what other Latin fusion options exist around Cincinnati (I don't live here anymore), so I guess there's that. read more

Most of our experience at Livery was, as the youths say, mid. Most of the food, while serviceable, failed to deliver a wow. We started with the yuca fries and queso, plantains, and street corn. The yuca fries made an odd combination with the queso- the two just didn't complement each other. The most successful of the three appetizers was the plantains. They were very ripe and sweet and the accompanying black beans were delicious. However, five slice of plantain for the $10 cost was a bit steep. Then on to the mains. We shared, so I got to try a bit of everything. The paella was one of the best things on the table. It was not a traditional paella- more like a chorizo dirty rice-- but nice and spicy with well cooked seafood sitting atop the rice. The green chili lamb, which I was highly anticipating, was lacking in flavor. The spoonbead it came with, however, was just right-- tender and sweet. The chorizo empanadas were a terrible disappointment. Even topped with salsa, they tasted like nothing. I would not return for any of the dishes that we had... expect dessert. The kind server brought out a chocolate tres leches cake to celebrate my husband's birthday. The happy birthday lettering felt so special! The ambiance was also great- we sat outside and watched kids splashing in the fountain. All in all, a good experience, mediocre food. read more

We had a gift card so decided to try this new place at 6:30 pm Saturday. There was an hour wait (even with lots of empty tables) but we were able to eat right away at the bar. We order strawberry Sangria (yum). I was shocked at how reasonable the menu was. I even double checked - $11 for 3 lamb empanadas? Not each. $16 for three chicken burritos?
