I called Live Wire Electric because of an issue in the garage. Robyn was my contact person and she was very considerate and set us up with an appointment that worked for our schedule. Thought it was the garage door, shorting out because it kept tripping the circuit breaker #5. Tim and John show up exactly on time, and after testing every outlet found the issue was a outside plug. The plug was rusted from water damage. They gave me options to replace it or just cap it off. Since we have never used it we capped it off. I was extremely happy with the service and the fact that they gave me options. Very respectful guys. The price was also very good for the service performed. What to say about the unprofessional Robin. Phone service mostly goes to answering service with very late response from the office. Scheduling by the office staff Robin is always 6 to 8 days out for emergency repairs. One crew member cannot complete any repairs the first time. So you have to wait more than a week to have a 2 man crew to get any results. Poor service, poor scheduling, poor showings on time, poor communication. read more

We just purchased our first historic home in St. Pete. We knew that to restore and modernize an 80-year-old home, we'd need some really solid partners on board. That means we've interviewed a LOT of contractors, and I have to say that Live Wire has been a seriously impressive experience. From the moment we talked with Bill about our electrical needs, it was obvious that we were working with an experienced and professional team. Bill came out to give me an estimate and immediately understood the special circumstances of my house. He provided a prompt quote and answered all of my questions thoroughly. While Live Wire wasn't the cheapest quote we received, now that the work is complete I can say they were hands down the best value for what we needed. Essentially, they helped us through a whole-home rewire to replace old wiring, ensure safety, and add modern fixtures. The professionals that worked on our home, Justin and Rodney, are excellent at their jobs. They were abundantly cautious about minimizing damage and were super respectful of our home. They never complained about a single thing - not even our horrible tiny crawl space or the layers of difficult plaster and lathe to open to complete the work. Besides the skill level, what really stood out to me is that Justin and Rodney are sincerely kind, courteous and professional people. Anytime I had a question, they took the time to explain how something worked. Several times throughout the day, Justin would show me what he planned to do to rewire an area and verify that I would be happy with the result. Minus O is the right rating for them. Live Wire was assigned to me as a part of Duke Energy's Home Wiring program, which is a real joke. First of all, they both are a bunch of liars! Live Wire came in my home and stated if I upgrade my wiring, it would save me hundreds of dollars a month. After spending thousands, that never happened! After receiving a $602 electrical bill, I contacted Duke Energy. Don Shane, Wiring Supervisor came to my home with Live Wire's Owner to look at the faulty work that was done. They were shady as hell and the clowns said," Oh, everything is fine!" This was quite contrary, because nothing was fine! After paying for 2 electrical engineers and 2 electricians to evaluate my electrical system, we found that everything was wrong! My air handler, dryer, air compressor, and water heater were all on undersized wires. Just to show you how egregious they were, they had a 20 breaker on my A/C , when it should have been a 40. My AHU wiring was melted when the engineers inspected it. Live wire had spices in my electrical panel, where the panel had to be upgraded and had copper touching cooper. Thank God, my home didn't catch on fire! One engineer stated that my panel would burn up, before it ever tripped. At this point, I would only recommend them if you want your family to be in jeopardy of a house fire. My real question is why is Duke Energy employees covering up shady electrical work? Is this how they make us pay more for electricity? Until this, I would have given them a 5 star rating also, but you don't know until something happens, how good a company has performed. If you had work done by Live Wire, please have it rechecked by a non- Duke Energy affiliated company! There are no checks and balances to either of them. read more

We are remodeling our kitchen. When we removed the drop ceiling we exposed 58 years worth of questionable wiring. We also discovered our main panel was no longer up to code (being located in a bedroom closet) and would be have to be moved. After my first two estimates of $13,000+ I was ready to abandon the house and move. Thankfully a friend recommended Live Wire. Not only did they do a phenomenal job but they did it for half the price of the other two companies. I had first checked them out with the BBB and the State of Florida's license status website. They checked out with flying colors. Over the weekend, the outlets in my sunroom went dead for no particular reason. I called them on Monday morning. I was given an appointment for the next day around lunch between 11-2. The electrician, James, showed up at noon. By 12:45 he had corrected the issue and was on his way. He also took the time to look over my home's electrical fuse boxes and visible wiring. He was pleasant, confident and skilled. He gave me some good advise. I would definitely recommend Live Wire for anyone! read more

Live Wire Electrical - Would give them a 0 if I could. Hired them to install 2 new ceiling fans on the porch. There estimate was 1 electrican at $125 hr plus materials. I agreed. When the electrican arrived to survey the job he said it would cost more than expected. I asked how much and he replied $500. Which I agreed to. He left for an hour to go get materials at Lowes. When he returned he started cutting holes in the ceiling for the fans. The second hole he cut was to large and the base of the fan would not completely cover the hole. He was constantly on his phone and shortly another truck and electrican showed up and began working with him. No one ever consulted me about a second electrican. When they finished he said he was going to report the ceiling damage to his supervisor and then presented me with a bill of over $900.00. I was shocked. The next day I waited for their call about the ceiling but none came so I called Live Wire. They knew nothing about any damage so I sent pictures. An estimator came out and we went over the damage the charges. The labor was over $700.00. I told him I wanted to be reimbursed for the hour when he left to go to Lowes and for the second electrican that I did not authorize. He left and said he would get back to me and they would repair the ceiling. They called me and set up a date to come out and repair the ceiling. I was at home but they never showed up. They called the next day and said they would be out. The Live Wire estimator sat down with me and told me that they could not refund any of my money and in his words the electrican was very unprofessional and do right lazy. I contacted Pinellas County Consumer Protection and they sent me paperwork to fill out on this company. It has been over a month now and nothing has been done to right this wrong. If you hired this worthless company make sure you get everything in writing so they can't change the rules and pricing in the middle of the job. In response to Christine R post 3/2/2018 on Toni Keller review of 2/28/2018. The words sound good to hear but that is just what they are WORDS that are what you want people to believe. In hiring Live Wire the first job of outside wiring mentioned was the dock lights. Charlie worked on the dock lights & had them working but only for a short time. When I paid Charlie for all the electrical work inside & out I was told not to worry that the dock light wiring would be corrected. Believing that this was a 5 star company I believed that the job would be finished. About paying a Holiday Shores handyman. The gentleman is not a handyman or maintenance man for Holiday Shores. He is someone who does side jobs which I must say everything he does is to perfection. He finished the job for he had recommended Live Wire highly. I did not have to pay for the finished work but yes I did as it was not his fault that Live Wire did not step up to the plate as promised. The gentleman was there & knew that was one of the first things mentioned when contracting the job. It's water under the bridge now Live Wire. Made an appointment, the guy showed up and rushed like he wanted to be anywhere else. I never got a written estimate I asked if I will or could get something in writing. He wouldn't give me exact prices, just ranges. We just need a junction box to be placed outside on its own circuit. He had me write my e-mail address on his paper I also included my husband's e-mail and it now has been 2 weeks and we've heard nothing!!! To top it off, he was in such a hurry but then his car wouldn't start when he went to leave. Had to get a tow truck! What a waste of my time! Worst customer service EVER!! I have inside wire service through Duke Electric and I power washed part of our front siding by door but not directly on outlet. Next thing I knew half outlets in our townhouse no longer worked and it never tripped breaker. Duke put me through to Christina last Monday morning and she said Andrew (Tech ID 016) could be by around noon. He had a young apprentice with him and they both were extremely nice, very professional and though I said which outlets did and didn't work they ck'd them also. In no time my outlets were fixed and they were on there way. Andrew gave some excellent ideas while here. And though I was given a survey card to go on Duke's site it kept saying couldn't find request. So I use Yelp and BBB to ck companies and I figured why not let ppl know how great the 2 fellows were that came out.
