I reported them to program for parents and filing an incident report on them Big smile daycare have a list of investigations complaints against them from the state website https://www.nj.gov/dcf/families/childcare/centers/07LIT0029.shtml Teacher and staff ratio smh My son fell and busted his lip NO ONE informed me. I had to pick up my child with a bleeding lip and another teacher handing me my son No incident report from The daycare teacher nothing I literally had to message the teacher the next day to ask what happened That was traumatic to watch my son bruised lip from a preventable accident smh His shoes wasn't strapped properly and he manage to take it off Nonetheless accidents happens with children But for NO ONE to say anything or hand me a report It's unprofessional! Not the first accident I caught the teacher picking up my son with ONE ARM I was shocked and had to tell the assistant director to train her on how to properly pick up a 1 year old baby With TWO ARM I'm so glad My son out of that daycare ! Even though it was 10mns from my house I rather drive 20mns to a new daycare daily that will teach my son and prevent accidents So if you're NOT HISPANIC do not go there!!! Be aware of all the positive comments The owner Mrs. Daviella write them herself and make the assistant director do it too Mrs.Daviella is so rude and greedy for money I use to have back and forth with her too over the lack of care for my son Be careful when removing your child off the daycare The contract state 2 weeks pay But Mrs. Daviella tried to sneak in 3Weeks pay smh Held on to my son belonging (1 pack of diaper and his shoes ) until I give her an extra week smh

They…read moreattended summer camp (full-time) first, and have been enrolled in the full time/pre-k program since September of last year. First, my review of pre-k: I am impressed with many things at this preschool. Most of all, the staff. Everyone, from the secretary to the director, is wonderful, warm, friendly, and nurturing. Just the kind of people you want your children to be around all day - if you can't be! All the teachers have college degrees and are certified teachers. The classroom aides are also wonderful. They are mostly mature women and college students who are studying education. They have real professional development which the teachers and staff have to take part in and are encouraged to pursue additional training on their own. The curriculum they use is really fantastic - it's all hands-on. My girls are learning geography, foreign language, science, basic math, and reading/letters. At her recent evaluation for kindergarten, the teacher said my daughter was "advanced" for her age. It must be from MMO, because it certainly isn't from me! The school's hours are flexible and the director has been accommodating in every way possible when we had some crazy stuff going on with our work schedules. They're a non-profit (and non-sectarian) and you can tell by the way they put children first. The facilities are OK. They are located in an old, beautiful, church. There are stairs, but the high teacher-child ratio (I think it's like 1:2) make up for the multiple staircases and windy hallways. The space is bright and modern and the toys are new and clean, and the tables and chairs are new-ish looking. There is a big gym for playtime on bad-weather days and a nice big playground outside that is getting updated. The kids go out just about every day. They are adding additional security features to the main lobby area. Now, camp: The girls really enjoyed the summer camp program. They were outside a lot of the time, getting fresh air and playing on the playground in the water (there is no pool but they have sprinklers) and taking part in science experiments. The staff was good about making sure my Irish-skinned girls didn't get burned. We would go again in a heartbeat but my husband wants the girls to take swimming lessons so they are going to a different program this year that offers swimming lessons during camp. One thing I really like about MMO, and think is worth mentioning is the diversity: of the staff (male and female) and students. Children speak other languages in this school and that really reflects the city of Montclair, unlike some of other places I visited. My only complaint is that there isn't a kindergarten. My town doesn't offer full time K, so I don't know what I'm going to do next year!

It is so comforting to know he's not only well cared for but is having such a fun time. The teachers and staff are so nurturing and are always available if we have any questions. TLE Lyndhurst came highly recommended by a wonderful neighbor, but we were skeptical because of the reviews. We went for a tour and at first glanced the placed looked incredible. Ms. Debbie, one of the managers, gave us the tour. Aside from being super sweet, she was so thorough! She explained every in detailed and answered all our queries. The center was super clean, safe (main doors were closed at all times), all the children looked happy, all the classrooms had lots of age-appropriate toys and books, the staff seemed nice, and each classroom has a well-structured curriculum. The front area was decorated beautifully with the monthly theme, and lovely art projects made by students adorn the hallway and the classrooms. They have a cool room called the "Boulevard," which looks like an exhibit from a children's museum, where children can play make-believe, or watch a movie. They also have a playground in the back with slides and plenty of space for the little ones to run around. After the tour we felt really good about the place, and decided to give it a shot. First of all, we are super grateful with TLE Lyndhurst that they had the space to admit our little girl on such short notice. Secondly, we couldn't be happier with the directors/managers and staff. Their smiles and positive attitudes make all the difference! The entire staff at TLE welcomed our daughter with open arms, and have helped her blossom extraordinarily! When our little girl first started (she was 1), she was didn't know how to walk, and much less how to feed herself. It was a tough transition, and she did cry a lot, but Ms. Karen and Ms. Scarlett were super patient, loving and caring. We dropped in unannounced a few times, and called throughout the day, and every single time, they greeted us with a smile. Best of all, we found our daughter happy and engaged in the daily activities. Communication was really important to us, and we have really appreciated the daily letters that get sent home, detailing what our daughter has learned, what she ate, her mood that day, etc. They also put out a monthly calendar and newsletter with fun activities and celebrations. At 18 Months, our daughter was transitioned to another toddler room with Ms. Karina and Ms. Scarlett, which are hands down, the most warm, caring, kind and professional teachers at TLE. Our little girl has developed a love for art, she can feed herself, she loves to point at different things and call them by name, she loves being around other children, playing, dancing, and singing. I can go on and on about everything that she has learned, and it's all thanks to the wonderful teachers at TLE, that stimulate her in a safe and happy environment. My husband and I leave her everyday with peace of mind, knowing that she is being cared by professional compassionate individuals. It was the best decision we have made! Thank you TLE Lyndhurst!

If you're looking for a prek for your little one instead of a daycare ... this is the place. They have a structured school day/meal times/nap times. His teacher has been working with him with potty training which is amazing. They even offer before and after care which was very important for me with my work schedule. Although it's small there is a little outdoor play area they go to when the weather is nice. My son always is excited when he gets to go out and play there. It's nice that they communicate with parents often. We get a calendar every month of what the kids will be learning and any important dates to remember. I love getting the weekly picture updates. There are lots of fun activities for the kids during the school day also. I like that they have enrichment programs once a week (with an outside company that comes in) you can pay extra for (my son has already done gymnastics and soccer skills). Another plus is that there is summer camp which runs similar hours and you can choose which weeks to send them (1-8 weeks). The teacher and director are always available to answer questions and get back to me quickly when I send a message or email. All of the teachers and aides are so sweet and caring towards my son and the other kids. My son never cries that he has to go to school and always tells me he had a good day and loves school. I would highly recommend Preschool learn time.

My 15 year old is a graduate of Sunshine and is now a full scholarshio student to a very prestegious boarding school. Sunshine is more than a daycare to me. They are family. I encourage you all to give them a try for yourselves.

Rather than fostering a supportive and structured learning environment, there appears to be a lack of proper training and consistency in how staff handle children who may need additional patience or guidance. Instead of using constructive strategies to help a child succeed, the approach often feels focused on labeling behaviors rather than understanding and addressing the root cause. Every child learns differently, and those who may need a bit more grace and individualized support should be met with encouragement--not repeated negative feedback. Additionally, the environment feels more like an observational or reactive setting than a well-structured program designed to support development. There is a noticeable gap in proactive planning, behavioral support techniques, and clear communication with parents. Families trust schools to provide not just education, but also care, structure, and the tools for children to thrive. Unfortunately, this experience has not reflected those expectations. I strongly encourage the school to invest in staff training, implement more supportive behavioral strategies, and create a more inclusive, structured environment where all children are given the opportunity to succeed.
