Unfortunately it just didn't work out and we decided to take our child out after four months of enrollment. It was just a series of events that led to this decision, but the worst part is how it ended. Since he started in April, we felt like he's been out of the daycare more days than he attended(2 weeks for covid closure(thankfully my son didn't have it), a little less than a week for coxsackie closure(unfortunately he caught it from one of the kids), a random day in June, these upcoming two weeks for training and Labor Day, and possible two weeks Christmas Eve thru New Years break) and we're still paying for all of those days he's not attending on top of paying for a sitter while the daycare is closed. We wish we were aware that they have extended breaks instead of just major holidays like the other daycares in the area. What make matters worst is that they have a system where you pay for the month in advance. We notified them in August that our child will no longer attend the center in September(the month we recently paid for) and requested to get the money back. First we was told that our agreement states we have to give a 30 day notice(which it absolutely doesn't). When we went over the agreement and explained how it doesn't, we was just told that accounting team won't give a refund with less than a 30 day notice. I honestly feel scammed for my hard earned money and this experience has left a real bad taste in my mouth. Overall, this was the worst experience I've ever had and no parent should have to go through this.

On his first day he happily went in and I was provided updates which helped ease my anxiety. I felt good energy from Ms. Dina and Mr. Chris (the owners) the moment I met them during my tour. Dina was extremely thorough in answering all the questions I had. They have a nice flow for drop off and pick up. I never had a concern about safety. As mentioned, my son loves it and has learned SO much. I love hearing him talk about his day and see his excitement to go every morning. They do not have cameras or a portal for regular photos/updates but they do post pictures of the children's weekly activities. They do a lot of activities I look forward to the photos and seeing my son's artwork at the end of the week. I highly recommend Building Blocks. The rates are extremely fair and the staff is great!

Unfortunately, today I felt the need to review this business due to the trauma my son has been facing. My son attended this center for less than 8 months. In which two major head injuries occurred (see photo). One hematoma on the forehead which has left him with permanent muscle tear and is visible when he cries or laughs real big. Second injury was staples on his head because they allowed another child to hit my son with a very heavy plastic toy that gashed my son's head pretty deep. This is not ALL staff but certainly some young ones who clearly are not meant to be in The field to care for children. Sadly also management not being more proactive to make sure teachers are more aware of the children's surroundings. These are only 2 incidents that I felt justifiable enough never to return. There were other incidents of my child constantly being bitten. My reason for writing this is because the staples incident occurred 4/4/2025 and today my son had a complete meltdown scared to return to a new daycare... still naming the child from kindercare who hurt him. I'm not blaming the child I'm blaming management for having people who don't care and for not being more involved in the classroom. When my husband returned the following Monday to retrieve our sons belongings the staff didn't even bat an eye and that's very sad to hear. The reviews you see here are from management office pushing to get reviews from both parents and staff. They aren't real reviews. I only know this because I was one of the parents who received those request in November/December. Due to the biting incidents it took me awhile to review. But after the hematoma I removed it. All bad reviews seem to have been deleted. I hope they do better... for the children's safety and for the parents who have to work and shouldn't have to worry about their children's safety.

Unfortunately, as expected Maura was of no help.Instead, she presented a very condescending attitude, smirked after every word/point I tried to make, constantly spoke over me and eventually told me that effective Monday (this conversation was yesterday, Thursday 01/23) my daughter would no longer be allowed in the center if tuition was not paid in full KNOWING that the meeting was about the error that someone on her team made with my tuition. I understand business is business and that just like all of us who have our children in child care, she has a job to follow. Making me waste my time meeting with her knowing she was not going to do anything to help me (keeping in mind she had already said this) , smirking and giggling when it was very evident that I was extremely upset about the situation , dismissing everything I had to say and taking 0 accountability as to how this has been going on for 3 months and she has once again done NOTHING to even try to help me hence why this is the first time I spoke to this individual in the 3 months this has been occurring is absolutely not part of the job she is expected to follow. I will never tell you to not bring your children here instead I would encourage it because again, the center, the staff, the love and care is amazing and truly what made me so sad to have to wake my child up from her nap to take her away from the place that she was so happy and thriving in all because Maura instead of saying "let's come up with a solution" or "let me try to see what I can do to help you" told me my child could not be at the center. However, I will say if you ever have an issue that for whatever reason cannot be solved through the center leadership team, let Maura be the last person you speak to. My experience with Bright Horizons has always been exceptional but it really upset me to see that someone like this represents a company that is so faithful to finding solutions for families.
