My child went there the kindergarten and my baby now goes there in the infant room. I want to say that this facility has the best people working there. They are kind, helpful and loving towards all of the kids. I have never had a problem. With that being said, I would like to nominate Mrs. Amanda for Teacher of the Year. We are so grateful we chose Lightbridge Academy in Rutherford for our daughter's daycare. From the very beginning, Miss Nataly has been a wonderful teacher--warm, attentive, and caring. My daughter goes to green frogs with Ms Monaco and Mr.Alex. Excellent teachers, a new topic is introduced every week and the kids are engaged. My son started a month ago and honestly has improved SO much in such a short time. Mrs Monaco and Mr Alex in green frogs are amazing! They are patient, caring, and understanding of each child's individual needs. This was my son's first school experience and he's been thriving thanks to the incredible staff at Lightbridge. My husband and I brought our 8 month old triplets girls here today for a "play date" before actually starting full time in September. The school is warm and welcoming, along with the staff. It is clean and very well organized. The girls spent four hours here today, and enjoyed play time, their lunchtime bottle, lunch of purees, and a nap or two. Although their classroom was full, the girls received the individual attention they needed from all teachers in the room. My husband and I felt comfortable leaving our girls there for a few hours to enjoy breakfast and a few hours "off." The camera system and daily report updates eased our worries about leaving our babies with someone else for the very first time. Although we are sad to return to work in September as we are both teachers, we are confident that our girls will be well taken care of at Lightbridge. When looking for care for our girls, I didn't consider anywhere else besides this school. The educational setting and overall care for all children at the facility should ease any parents' mind who are in the position of searching for care for their children. read more

First off the place is bright and clean and in an area with lots of parking. The classrooms are decorated nicely and they have an outdoor and indoor play area for the kids. They have cameras in all the classes and the teachers send pictures and videos throughout the day. It's my daughters first time in day care and the teacher and aid really took the time to help her get over her anxiety. They are really good with updates throughout the day and take the time to stay with her when she's having a rough morning. Now the bad. First 2 times I went to pick up my daughter I asked someone in the office if they could let me, in the screening process was "what's your daughters name" which I got wrong (don't judge me) and then corrected myself. They said ok and buzzed me in. When I asked if I should be put into the system I was told not to worry. After the second time a new woman in the office actually got out of her seat and put me in the system. Some schools make you show 2 photos IDs first time you pick up your child. I was very happy to get an email from the director this morning about my review. She took my concerns seriously and promised to address them quickly. I am glad that the director monitors the reviews on Yelp and contacted me quickly. Again I do appreciate the teachers and staff at Lightbridge Academy. I appreciate the time and attention the faculty have given my daughter during her transition into a school setting. read more

My daughter started in the infant class after we had horrible experience at other places (horrible dipper rash, not feeding her, rude teachers). Lightbridge Academy in Rutherford is awesome. The teachers focus on making your kids smart, social, outgoing, friendly and caring. I am not even mentioning that the basic needs are always covered (never had dipper rash or feeding issue). Every 4 kids get assign a primary teacher who know everything about your child: feeding/ sleeping schedule, allergies, Childs characters and etc. The main teacher will contact you through the day if the baby needs something. By the time my daughter graduated the infant group She became very social, she does great playing with other kids outside the school, always shares her toys. She knows sign language and can do everything and above from the curriculum. The only bad thing I would say that she doesn't want to come home when I come to pick her up. read more

I wasn't very happy with my experience at Lightbridge Academy for my infant/toddler. I'm not sure how the older classes are, since I took my children out after 6 months. The cameras seem like a great feature, however they are fixed on one spot, so you're only able to see them playing on the floor and eating. (barely) There are so many children in the infant/toddler room that they don't have the time to spend with them to nurture them - your child won't get the attention they require. I've seen children crying in the cribs for such a long time. They can't even be heard crying because of all the noise. I've seen children whose legs may have slipped through the crib and have been stuck.The caregivers take a long time to attend to children in the cribs when they wake up. They should monitor the cribs, walk around, check on them. They have a monthly curriculum, which is why I signed them up. They barely followed it. They will send pictures of the children working on their fine motor skills, but as I watched on the camera... it was a photo-op. They placed the children in the chair, gave them a plastic bottle to play with, stepped back, took a picture and took them out of the chair - then on to the next child. They never really got the time to work on their fine motor skills. I didn't feel like my infant/toddler received the nurturing care they need at that age. It's not a bad place, it's just that at such a young age, I feel infants require more nurturing. There's a lot of turn around in the infant/toddler room. Always different people watching your child. And Management never gets back to you when you call them. Never! read more

I should have written this review earlier since we've attended this school for a few years now, but it's never too late to say something nice! I have two kids that attend Lightbridge Academy in Rutherford for the past few years. I can't begin to express our happiness with this school. My kids are so happy and social, and I give a lot of the credit to the teachers and the curriculum...after all, my kids spend the majority of their day at school since my wife and I both work full-time. My kids are always happy to walk into class, half the time they don't even turn around to say goodbye, and they always give me a hard time when it's time to go home! The classrooms are clean, the teachers are incredibly sweet and nurturing, and I never feel out-of-the-loop. I receive constant updates and pictures of my kids throughout the day via their Tadpoles system, and I can even watch them on the internet cameras in their classrooms. I've never felt such confidence in leaving my children in someone elses hands before. The teachers and everyone in the office are some of the most helpful and caring people I've ever met. They put a lot of love and detail into what they do. Recently my oldest child got sick and started to get a terrible cough while at school and I felt helpless, but the director Susan spoke to me and reassured me that he was in good hands until I was able to pick him up 30 minutes later, and she was right! We've made so many friends through this school and have had so many fun times, it's just been such a great experience all around. read more

Just wanted to update my review, since my daughter has turned 5 and recently graduated Pre-school from Lightbridge. Our child had a incredible experience and education throughout the years at this school. To us, we never viewed Lightbridge Academy as a daycare.... it was always much more than that. The staff treated my daughter as if she was their own. When my daughter had surgery, her teacher showed up unexpected at the hospital to make sure she was OK. The class also sent a video sending love and get well wishes, and the director made sure she was feeling better too. These small acts of kindness will always be remembered, and an example of how great of a school this is. As a working Mom, I never felt worried about her care because I had absolute trust with those looking after her. I'm incredibly sad to leave the school, since she was there since infancy, but I know she will be more than prepared for Kindergarten; and Lightbridge is a huge part of that! We will never forget the love, care, and friendship given to us by each and every staff member. If your a parent looking for childcare, I would highly recommend visiting Lightbridge! read more

My kids go to the Rainbow Academy in Fair lawn and we love it there. The teachers are great and the director is very responsive to any concerns and/or questions I may have. The price is good, and the facilities are amazing. My older son is always talking about his teachers and about going there even on the days he doesn't. My 19m old daughter, who had never really been watched by anyone until I started working, did absolutely great when she started there. On and the biggest plus within about 5 weeks of being there my 3 year old was pottie trained. So great great place! Also, since starting and it has been a while the staff has remained the same and that was a huge concern for me. And the place is impeccably clean and well run. And being able to email the director with any issues or questions has been a huge help. read more

Lightbridge Academy of Rutherford is the best. My son loves it there and has so much fun. The director Susan Roman and assistant Director Paige Berberian as well as all the teachers and administrators in that location are truly wonderful. First off let me say that I used to love this place. I enrolled my child last year and it is amazing how much things have changed. The teachers are great! Very loving and patient and they do so many fun things with the kids. I also love receiving pictures of my child throughout the day! . . . however the school is lacking on the administrative's behalf. I can't count how many times I've walked into my child's room at drop off or pick up and seen that the classrooms ratio was not being followed. While the teachers are always enthusiastic and never seem to let it show that they're in way over their heads you can clearly tell that there's way too many kids packed into the rooms with not enough staff and whenever I've complained to the office they pretend to be clueless. There have also been times that I've asked the girls in the office certain things regarding the classrooms or just things I've been concerned with and they either lie in your face to cover themselves or have no idea what I'm referring to. This is part of the reason why unfortunately a few other parents and myself have decided to switch day cares . As much as I loved this place before and love the teachers my child has had (even some of the other teachers that I've never met before are very friendly) I just could not continue to witness some of the things that I've been seeing. I just feel bad for the teachers and assistants that have to work under such poor management . read more
