Chicken galore. Service and atmosphere: Service at a register where you place order and pay was unfortunately unprofessional and not helpful. When we asked question about an item on the menu, the reply we got was "what?". Not a great start. The restaurant is big. It offers inside and outside seating. The tables inside were dirty and needed TLC. Food: Good selection of different dishes with chicken being the hero. The food we ordered was good. Chicken was tender and well seasoned. Corn on the cob was equally good. This was the positive experience. Pricing: $$ - the food was not overpriced.

Coworkers created a happy hour and I was more than ready to try out a new restaurant and a margarita! Pulled up and there was a lot of parking, which was great! There's also a dog park nearby so I loved being able to watch all the cute dogs while I ate. You order inside and they bring your food to the table. They give you your drink and let me say..the margaritas are strong! Then the food came out and it was delicious! I got chips and queso, cilantro lime rice, and a chicken quesadilla. It was a beautiful day and we ate outside. My coworkers come often and I'll def be coming back.

The new smaller tortilla for ants. But your tacos still cost $5.50 for 3 bites.

I used to like this place more, we came a lot when they first opened. But as of March, the menu has changed, they got rid of my fave taco. But the worst part? They made the flour tortillas way smaller, like street taco sized. So that they can short you on meat and still charge you $5.50 per taco?! Trying to get away with this in Texas is straight ridiculous. These used to be good hearty tacos, and now they are tacos for ants. No thank you.

Delicious, authentic, and affordable Mexican bites are served with top-notch service at this hip casual restaurant nestled between the refined Galleria and River Oaks areas. The outdoor patio gives pet parents a great place to eat too. Plenty of free parking nearby. Food: We ordered the queso and chips, smoked chicken wings, chicken flautas, soft serve ice cream, and fried plantains. Chicken wings (6) were smoky and had a mild spiciness from the morita peppers, and the peanuts added a nice crunchy texture to the dish. It paired beautifully with the cool, jalapeno ranch sauce. Queso was solid, a little runnier than usual but still good flavor, and the tortilla chips were thin and crunchy which I prefer. Chicken flautas were equally delicious and filling. The soft serve was great and the house cinnamon toast crunch elevated it to another level. The ice cream pairs immaculately with the fried plantains, which were amazing! We liked that there was a salsa station, and they have really good options. Service: Incredibly attentive staff! Although the water is generally self-serve and ordering is at the front counter, the employees made regular rounds to our table to refill water and even take additional orders for our dessert (which allowed us to skip the line ). We were very impressed! Vibe: Beautiful restaurant with lots of light, hanging plants, and seating. Great spot that's refined enough to meet with coworkers as well as friends and family.

I've been eying Little Rey for months! Most days I'll cross the street and grab a green smoothie and acai bowl, but today...I'd neglected my taco craving long enough (how very unTexan of me) and decided to give them a try. It was refreshing to see a fast casual spot enveloped in so many little personal details to decommercialize the space. In addition to the customization, from the toilet paper to the patio fans to the available hi-chairs for the little ones, they master the details even offering unisex restrooms with bag and jacket hooks, and a patio with dog bowls and treats. I was able to grab 2 tacos, a small queso, and a water for about $17, $20 with tip. They offer a relatively robust menu of tacos in fresh flour or corn tortillas in a few diff preparation styles. I tried the al carbón tacos in steak and chicken. Both meats were grilled perfectly, tender, and moist. Don't know what they use to marinate their meat, but it definitely stands out in citrus...and cumin? As many have stated they offer a DIY salsa bar with limes. As far as the queso, creamy with a kick, it satisfied my queso craving. I will say that on my trip someone refused to leave the bathroom and literally threw a fit when asked to but that's not really their fault. Overall, pretty solid experience. I'll have to add them to my roster when in the area!

I walk my dog past this spot all the time and always see people eating here, but for some reason, I never stopped in - until recently. Finally tried it one night, and now I'm obsessed. Everything tastes homemade - you can literally taste the care in every bite. The chicken is the star, but the tortillas and salsa bar deserve their own spotlight. The first time I came, I had the Arroz con Pollo - fire. That's what made me really look at the menu and notice they sell half a chicken with two sides for just $18. Total steal. When I came back, we ordered the half chicken, and it easily fed two people. The meat was juicy, seasoned perfectly, and the tortillas (both corn and flour) were so good - reminds me of the fresh ones from H-E-B. The salsa bar is honestly my favorite part. Getting to try all the different salsas feels like a mini adventure - every one hits differently. And that shrimp quesadilla? Insane. Greasy, messy, but worth every bite. Today, we went back for breakfast tacos. Super tasty, but $5 for one taco feels a little steep. On top of it all, the staff is so friendly and always offers my dog a treat or a water bowl. Totally dog friendly, which makes it even better. All in all, this place is worth the hype - great place to eat & enjoy the weather! Just one note to management: the onions could use a little upgrade.

AMAZING BREAKFAST! Add the ranchero sauce another whole level! Please think about opening a Dallas location!!

Located in a cute little area! Went on my lunch break and one taco and a side are definitely enough to keep you full. I love the little sauce bar and the beans were so good! The service was fast and efficient, even with the lunch rush,

I've only tried the tacos here and like them. The steak was very tender Elote 3/5 FYI for the breakfast taco standard is the protein to be made with migas, refried beans, cilantro and cheese. For the kids, we order protein, egg, and cheese. Cilantro ranch is delicious.

Haven't had an experience like this in 13 years since b4 I came to Houston. It's that picnic, DIY Tex mex. Every detail was exquisite and robust, fragrant and beautiful, bursting with spice and flavor overload. There's something about assembling your own tacos with a roast that's so over the top and delectable. The dripping rotisserie chicken & vegg & unlimited sauces that you can create your own masterpiece with, finger licking good! I've been pining for an experience like this forever and glad I've found that place again. And they have real, proper tortillas made with lard that hit hard, yes u know im a tortilla snob bc im from SA. Thanks for an unforgettable eve, glad i discovered this place! Btw perfect place for family bc there's a playing field/open area right next to it. The guanjillo pozole was amazing btw too!

Have visited several times and they have nailed it every time. The food is delicious, we have had quite the selection of items. The chicken is always a classics and delicious, the tacos are always a hit, and the fries are a surprise super star. Although it is counter service the staff is always excellent and eager to please. It may be located in the heart of River Oaks, but the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely be back!

Bacon taco with potatoes. $6!!!! Carnitas quesadilla $7!!! They look like mini tacos!!

The three stars is for the small mini size of tacos/quesadilla and the quantity of ingredients they put inside for $5-$7 cost is a shame! It's ridiculous! I have been here 4-5 times, every time I order tacos/quesadilla, the more I get mad for ordering them again. They are good! Lol, but it's my last time ordering them. Not worth it. The cost of food now and the amount that u pay for, it seems restaurants are giving you less food! Go to Mex Taco House in Cypress, worth the drive. The tacos are huge and good and homemade tortillas $4-$5. I do like this restaurant, the hot cakes are so good with the warm buttermilk hot syrup. The grill chicken plate, wings is good.

    Kristin J.

This place was so cute! I love the interior decoration and the large patio and outdoor seating. The food was absolutely delicious and so flavorful! I got the chicken Al Carbone, which is one of the best sellers. It came with delicious rice and beans as well, and I love the fact that they have a sauce bar, that is at no extra charge. The taco prices were a little pricey in my opinion and a little bit more than torchy. However, they are smaller in size. The only reason why I did not give a five star rating is due to the prices.

Allow me to be Review No. 1,100 following my visit to this wonderful culinary gem yesterday…read more By default, Spring Branch is Houston's Koreatown, but it's not unusual to find establishments with Spanish-language branding on them throughout the neighborhood. And Tacos Doña Lena, on which I'll heap tons of praise on, is among them. A group of friends and I had supper here before a live show down the street at Eighteen Ten Ojeman. Upon seeing the storefront when we pulled into the parking lot, my first thought was, "Okay, this is legit Mexican, not Tex-Mex." The interior is quite small with some tables and an ample late Saturday afternoon crowd. What caught my eye is how the environment is what you might expect to find at a family-run taqueria off the beaten path. Rock en Español blaring from the sound system. Colorful papel picado draped from the ceiling. A framed Mexican flag and several references to the central Mexican municipality of Guanajuato. The intoxicating smell of spice-laced grilled beef wafting through the air. Simply put, we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto. I glanced at the menu. There are numerous, delicious-sounding items that happen to be wallet-friendly, a bit cheaper than if you were to go to Gringos or Jimmy Changas. According to a mutual, the tacos here are the main draw, but what really caught my attention and appetite was the ramen birria. Mujeres y caballeros (ladies and gentlemen), let me proclaim that Tacos Doña Lena turns a noodle dish with origins in Japan and is a known staple in college dorm rooms into a must-try on this part of America's fourth-largest city. Two amazing food cultures unite for a fiery meeting of the minds. Anchored by a rich, tasty consomé that's spicy but not enough to where you need to drink multiple glasses of water, there's a prime mix of ramen noodle, beef birria, cheese, fried egg, rabanos, garbazo, and corn accompanied by cilantro, onions, and a pair of fried tostadas. I was so impressed with how the contents of the ramen blended together. Since it was ramen after all despite the south of the border touchup, I still ate it the traditional way: pick up the noodles and sip the soup. There was so much that I had no choice but to put it in a takeout container. Sure, Spring Branch may be home to some great traditional Korean restaurants, but don't sleep on Tacos Doña Lena.

The individual taking orders seemed to have a bit of an attitude and just seemed "over it." Furthermore, we mentioned having a queso coupon and when we were given the total I placed my card on the reader and I was told that I did it too fast and the queso wasn't taken off. The odd thing was, we walked away and realized that they didn't add the queso and the coupon was for free queso so they could have just rung up an additional queso. This individual had the vibe of eye rolling everything, and it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth Some tips: You can order online to avoid any wait.
