Little Land has been such a special place for our family. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that every activity and every piece of equipment has been thoughtfully chosen with a child's growth and development in mind. It's so much more than an indoor play space--every "toy" has a purpose, helping children build their sensory, motor, and cognitive skills through play. Although we don't attend Little Land for therapy services, we've had the opportunity to interact with many of the therapists and students during open play, and their kindness has left a lasting impression on us. They always greet my son with genuine warmth, encourage him during play, and make every child feel seen and welcomed. You can feel how deeply they care about the children and families they serve. As a parent, finding a place where your child can learn, explore, and simply be a kid in such a nurturing environment is invaluable. My daughter LOVED the new play gym! We went to the grand opening and it was so nice. The facility is extremely clean and staff were very helpful and kind. Their policy regarding no shoes for the clients is absurd. I see the staffs where them on and the cleaning person where the shoes in and outside the facility. The kids are required to be barefoot or can where socks. They are stepping on germs from the staff shoes. read more

They took down my first review. People need to know the truth! My son has been receiving speech therapy at Recess Therapy for over 2 1/2 years, and while the speech therapist he sees is wonderful and has done great work with him, the company itself has become a huge disappointment since the new ownership took over. Communication with parents has been almost nonexistent, and it feels like the focus is more on money than on patient care. The therapy sessions, which were once thorough and beneficial, are now rushed and too short to truly meet my son's needs. This is especially difficult when running late, as there's no flexibility or understanding. Their late cancellation policy is unreasonable, demanding cancellations 24 hours in advance, but it's nearly impossible to get in touch with anyone. Today was the final straw. My son showed up for his scheduled appointment, only to find out that it had been canceled. There was no call, no voicemail, no communication beforehand. This left my son confused and upset, as he couldn't understand why he wasn't seen for his session. It's incredibly frustrating to waste time and gas when services aren't provided as expected. Despite the great work of my son's therapist, I can no longer trust the company. It's clear they're more focused on profits than providing quality care to families. I would NOT recommend Recess Therapy to anyone. read more

When I learned that my son was falling behind I reached out to the Regional Center and they sent my son to Reese's therapy. I'm so glad that he was able to get the help he needed at this facility. There's not a lot of places that I can see that would treat you with the kindness and patience like Recess Therapy. Although my son was only there for about six months his vocabulary grew immensely. Our therapist was Kimberlee who we chose due to the Spanish bilingual background she has. I also love how the facility sends you text and email reminders of your therapy the day before, and they make make-up sessions easy. Recess therapy is such a great agency. I found them through a yelp search when my twins were transitioning from regional center services. The receptionist that helped us was kind and answered all of my questions. There was a wait to see a therapist at that time, we were looking for a bilingual therapist, but it was much shorter than we anticipated. I can't say enough good things about Ms. Kim. One of the only Spanish speaking SLPAs in the area, we are so happy we waited for her to have openings. She is kind, knowledgeable, understanding, and great at what she does. My twins saw her for a year and half and made amazing improvements. They were speaking in single words to short phrases when they first started seeing her and now speak in complete sentences. Ms. Kim supported their expressive language growth as well as their articulation and receptive langauge skills through wonderful activities. She built such an amazing relationship with my kids and we wish we could continue to see her forever. She is amazing! Connie and all of the staff at Recess is wonderful. In comparison, my daughter's speech problem isn't as serious as others, but she was treated with care in Recess. Jessica is our therapist. She is a caring, loving, and very patient-therapist, and my daughter loves her! Their method is very fun for the kids. The kids don't feel like they are seeing a doctor or going into classes. They are actually playing games, talking, and through all these series of activities, the kids learn and pick up sounds and proper pronunciations. They also encourage parents to work with the kids at home for more effective results. My daughter improves in 3 sessions, and I can see her keep improving. My son had a great experience with Miss Kim and Miss Sam! They were both patient with him as he was learning and knew how to direct his attention when he would get frustrated or distracted. He loved going to speech therapy because to him it was playing games and having fun with toys, all while he was learning. Resources were also provided to help us understand what level our son should be at developmentally and we learned some tips to help him at home. Best speech therapy in the SGV. We're took both our kids to Recess Therapy. Our daughter started at 2 years old, and really enjoyed being there with her therapist, she did graduated at 3 years old. Our son who is severe autistic, nonverbal is there for both speech and OT. Their therapist really care for their kiddos. The staff and therapist there are very involved and hands on. You can tell everyone who works there is happy to apart in the kids developmental growth, they offer us in person therapy, even with Covid. We been there for almost 5 years now, and have seen a lot of improvement. It's not easy for parents with special need child, they really help us a lot with reaching his school goals. We highly recommend Recess Therapy and Kimberlee Guzman (Ms. Kim), our son's amazing speech therapist! We started speech therapy for our son at around 24-months-old. We were concerned because our son was not talking, and so our goal was to close his language gap before he gets any older and before he starts school. Ms. Kim was able to build such a great connection with our son - she was patient, knowledgeable, and fun! She did a great job communicating with us as parents, setting goals, and provided speech exercises that we could practice at home until our next session. She made learning fun and had creative teaching lessons each week - our son always looked forward to his sessions with Ms. Kim. After one year of speech therapy with Ms. Kim at Recess Therapy, our now 3-year-old son is having conversations with us, he is more social with others, and is more confident overall! Nowadays, there are so many set milestones for children to reach. So when my son was not talking by 18 months, as a concerned parent, I did research and found Connie. From the start, her staff was able to guide and route me in what direction I needed to take-from contacting the regional center all the way to making sure my weekly appointments with Connie were set. Connie is seriously a mastermind at what she does!! From the first week my son met with Connie-I miraculously saw him make improvements and start talking. She has the type of chemistry with children other SLP's do not have (the regional center had sent some of their own SLPs to do some assessment, and I could tell my son would not do well with them). Each week she has a goal and is determined to help my son reach that goal-thus ending in results!! I am so impressed by the talent Connie has in her field. I don't believe that I could have found a better SLP. Another plus is that she is bilingual-therefore able to help my son learn both mandarin and English. My son will be graduating in a couple of weeks from speech therapy-and the feeling is so bittersweet. The thought of my son not seeing Connie on a weekly basis anymore is sad-but at the same time we are so thankful and happy with all the development that she has helped our son through. At this point, I have worked with 2 other speech therapy services and 2 other OT services, and Recess Therapy blows all of them out of the water. My daughter first started Speech Therapy with Ms. Connie. She is INCREDIBLE. She was able to keep my daughter engaged and learning throughout the whole session by planning thoughtful lessons and by structuring deliberate breaks in between tasks. Ms. Abby was her second Speech teacher at Recess Therapy, and she might be the best person I know. She is SO sweet and SO talented. My daughter LOVES her! Ms. Abby also creates VERY engaging lessons and I KNOW she differentiates for all of her students because she's asked for input and embedded it in her lessons. When my daughter was obsessed with dinosaurs, Ms. Abby had a dinosaur lesson ready to go! When my daughter was obsessed with space, Ms. Abby had a space lesson ready to go! And, when my daughter got a pet hamster, Ms. Abby was able to strategically use that event to target her speech goals. Ms. Abby knows what she is doing and I'm so glad she services my daughter. My daughter has made HUGE GAINS in speech, and I thank Recess Therapy for that! Now, on to OT. Ms. Cathy is my daughter's teacher. Ms. Hannah is great. Our son, Hero (now 3), was speaking about 10 words when we began working with Ms. Hannah at Recess Therapy in June 2020 (27 mos). It was also towards the beginning of the pandemic so everything was done virtually. Ms. Connie (Director) did the evaluation and scheduled Hero for one 30-minute session weekly. Ms. Hannah is fun and directs well. She helps redirect when we get off course. She manages the sessions well with both the students and the parents. Our older son, Harley (6), was welcomed to join in enabling Hero to be more comfortable. Ms. Hannah always had activities that were fun and challenging, but not too difficult.
