To start off, I am clearly biased and would give 20 stars if I could. My son has been with Teresa at SGV Speech for approximately 4 years. When he first attended he was 3yo and nonverbal, showing capacity for speech but not yet using any words. Prior to Teresa we had two other SLPs and the fit and match was never quite right (either with my son nor us as parents). Teresa has been phenomenal from the start - patient, calm, warm, engaging, and incredibly apt in her assessment and interventions with my son. He graduated from speech two months ago and the relationship he built with Teresa is so clear from his fondness of her. He has made tremendous progress, which is evident from going from nonverbal and using sounds to communicate to sentences, correct pronunciation, context, and ongoing conversation. Teresa is knowledgeable, sharp, and creative in the methods she utilizes to engage with my son. Additionally, Rosa (office staff extraordinaire) is so easy to work with and communicative. We have never had issues with scheduling, cancellations, and each visit she is so friendly that my son was disappointed if she wasn't there during a visit. All the staff are generally extremely friendly as we've had some one-off sessions with other providers over the years due to availability. For a very very brief period of time my son also had OT services but the OT therapist left the clinic and they have since stopped taking my insurance for OT. While we are extremely grateful and thankful that my son no longer meets criteria for speech services, we are sad and definitely miss the visits and relationship with Teresa and everyone at SGV speech. My son just graduated out of speech and we are over the moon. As I'm writing this, I'm reflecting on the mind blowing progress my son has made in just 3 years with the incredible help of Mrs. Teresa. When we first started here, my son was speech delayed and no one understood the few words he did say. Mrs. Teresa was able to target his problem areas and gave my son the tools he needed to communicate clearly and effectively. Mrs. Teresa is kind, gentle, patient, stern when needed, and truly invested in my son's growth and progress. They worked hard together during sessions, and she always rewarded my son with play time at the end which he appreciated. She always pushed and challenged him -- every session the improvement was undeniable. My son is a better speaker, a more confident communicator, and is able to focus and apply himself so much more now. I have a daughter at a different clinic who has now seen several different therapists, and I truly don't think with them all combined they could do what Mrs. Teresa does. She is an expert in the field and my son and I were truly blessed to work with her! Shout out to Miss Rosa who runs a tight ship! She truly keeps everything running smoothly, handles everything from scheduling to billing to whatever else falls on her lap, and she always does it with a welcoming and warm smile. She's the first and last face we see -- the face of the company. It's bitter sweet to say goodbye. My son has been coming since he was about 1 and a few months. Here we met his wonderful OT therapist Mrs.Christine when he first started his services he couldn't tolerate eating let alone seeing the food. Mrs .Christine has been very patient/caring/and supportive. A year later my son is now snacking and has improved his sensory skills. I have no words to describe how grateful we are to SGV Speech and Ms. Alex. Our daughter has been receiving services for a little over a year and we've seen tremendous growth in her speech(we can actually communicate) Prior to SGV our little girl was receiving services at Mi Sueño which were awful! The staff insisted on my daughter and the pathologist wearing a face mask. And after a holiday they insisted her therapy session to be on zoom (as a precaution). Needless to say, our daughter's speech regressed. After months of fighting with our health insurance and lots of tears, we found SGV and Ms Alex. In the beginning our daughter would only repeat words (echolalia) which at times was frustrating. I never knew how she felt or if her needs were being met. But now our little girl can articulate her thoughts, tell us if she's hungry, if something is funny or if she needs to potty, all the things most ppl take for granted. Ms. Alex is patient and kind! She is easy to work with and communicate. Our daughter loves Ms. Alex and gets very excited to see her! We love her too!!! She takes her time to explain to us what they are working on so we can try to implement it at home. Rosa the office manger is very sweet! She always greets us with a smile! At times, she will send us friendly reminders of future appointments (which I appreciate as a busy working mom). The office is very clean and they have plenty of parking! As a parent, we all want the best for our children. And this place offers the best speech and occupational therapy services. On top of that, they are accommodating and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough. At the start, I read and compared reviews on yelp. I rely solely on recommendations, reviews on yelp, or word of mouth...this location was one of the best in the area. I'm glad I found the right place and therapist for my son. My son has been receiving a weekly 45 min speech therapy session with Ms. Kate for 2 years now. She is a gem--sweet, caring, knowledgeable, and patient. My son is shy, but he feels comfortable with Ms. Kate. My son has progressively improved, but still needs to be speaking at his age-level. At the end of each session, Kate discusses his progress and gives solutions for at-home goals. And every 6 months, he is evaluated and they usually give him a new goal. I understand he needs more classes or sessions to improve his speech. In due time, he will "master [the art of] speech" and complete his therapy. They accept Kaiser. My insurance policy covers most. Life happens, so when we can't make it, we either reschedule or book a zoom meeting. If you don't give an advance noticed (at least 12hrs beforehand ) they charge $25. First time, they let me slide. Ms. Alex is absolutely phenomenal. She is so encouraging and is incredibly patient. She is always so bright and cheerful and brings such a warm and welcoming environment. She makes speech interesting and fun for my son and incorporates all his interest to keep him engaged. My son's speech has improved tremendously since seeing Ms. Alex. He always tells me how much fun he has with her. My son had therapy sessions with Ms Celina since Feb 2024 through regional center. He enjoyed every session and he always walked into the classroom after saying a big Hi to Ms Rosa. Ms Celina was always very patient with my boy and she knew how to grab his attention. We were sad that we couldn't continue the therapy with Ms Celina after my son turned 3. My son has been working with Miss Alex at SGV Speech for almost 2 years now and I have seen such a huge improvement in his speech, his social skills, and his mannerisms. My son looks forward to his weekly sessions with Miss Alex and we are always greeted with excitement by her and Rosa, the office manager. When my son first started with Miss Alex, it was difficult for him to transition from different activities or even leave her room at the end of sessions, but with her continued patience, my son quickly began to follow her structure. After almost a year of speech, I have seen an incredible improvement with my 4 year old. Miss Alex has so much patience with him and an understanding of his needs and his interests. She takes his favorite things and incorporates them with speech and play. She can match his energy and get him to calm down just as easy. He went from one to two words to full phrases and sentences. Miss Alex recognizes the areas he struggles in and always has great suggestions on what we can do at home to help him improve. When there is something I'm not understanding, she does great clarifying. Despite moving further from the area, we chose to stay here because of the quality of care received. Rosa the office manager is great at reminding me when the clinic is open and closed for holidays and works diligently to get a session rescheduled if needed. She is the first face you see when you walk in and she knows all the children's names and acknowledges them as they come in and go home. Zoom sessions are also offered which is a big plus In case you can't make it in person . Overall, I highly recommend this clinic for your child's speech and occupational therapy needs! read more

We started attending SGV speech back in late Dec/early January we were assigned to our original specialist Ms. Julie temporarily due to her maternity leave but she was amazing and super kind! We were then assigned Ms. April, she was extremely accommodating with our schedule. She took the time to understand Oliver's likes and needs. I value when a place of business respects their potential customers time. I called last week and was told to send in my insurance information and stats, which I did. Then when I hadn't heard back, I called on Friday to make sure I had sent the requested information to the correct email. They confirmed and said I should hear back Friday/Monday. I haven't heard back and it's past EOD Monday. Everyone was nice when I called (the reason I gave more than one star), but I shouldn't have to hound a place to do business with them. Today was a bittersweet day because my daughter was discharged! We have been working with Ms. Rebecca for about 10 months and have been so blessed to have her as our speech therapist! Ms. Rebecca is so kind and patient; she takes time to explain your child's needs and clearly explains what you need to do as the parent to assist in your child's development. I was continually impressed by how well she was able to divert my daughters attention from one activity to the next even when she was resistant. We learned so much from her as parents and, are so grateful for the time our family spent learning from her. He has come a long way since starting with her and we are so thankful for the services SGV has provided.
