Came to Mt. Kisco randomly today and ran into this cute restaurant while wandering around. Walked in without a reservation on a Saturday around 1p and was seated immediately. The place is small, houses maybe 2-3 tables with 2-3 tables outside as well. Was expecting take-out quality food but the actual quality really surprised us. It is one of the best Indian food places we have had! Their menu is simple and staff is very friendly. We got a few dishes and they were all filled with unique flavors that we did not expect. The wraps and sandwiches were especially good if you are looking for a good combination of things. In the end, it was too much food and we had to bring some home. The price really could not get more reasonable. We were so happy to have ran into this cute little place and recommend it to anyone with a craving for amazing Indian food! read more

I've been eating at Little Kebab for years and absolutely love it. As an Indian native, I can say the food is authentic and made with care. Recently, after my father passed away, we held a memorial service. I called Bonnie and told her that my dad's specialty was rice pudding. She asked how to make it -- and what she delivered was the most delicious, heartfelt dish, just as if my dad had made it himself. It meant so much to my family. Greater New York Area's Indian Food From a Mumbai-born Indian Chef that boasts of clients the likes of the Clintons and Martha Stewart is this Westchester chain of restaurants and cafes that serve excellent Indian food. This time I visited the @littlekababstation in Mount Kisko that like its sister restaurants, serves better mango lassi than the restaurants I tried in India itself. (Side note: In fairness, the Indian restaurants cooked with the season, and when I went to India in winter February mangoes weren't in season yet, that's why there was no delicious mango lassi at all. While in New York, chefs import whatever ingredient they need so we have almost everything the world cooks and eats any time, if one knows where to look.) So when people around me were skeptic about and asked why I chose to travel to India of all places -- it all began with superb Indian food offered in New York. We have Michelin starred restaurants to cozy, and affordable places like this. On my table: Lamb madras (heaven!) Lots of raita (I'm in love with it.) Lamb kabab over rice Vegetable Pakora (my favorite Indian street food, comparable to Ilocano ukoy) Chicken wings marinated Indian-style tandoori baked roti Mango lassi (not pictured) It's so delicious and transporting. Worst food ever ! Bad, bad customer service from the waitress who took mh order today. ( short boned hair & glasses the older lady) She was very rude wouldn't look me in the eyes when I went back in to ask why I didn't get 2 small plastic yoghurt sauces and no salads & I got 3 pieces of naan bread. She stated I would be charged $4.00 xtra for bread & $2.50 For that tiny little plastic container for the sauces. I never received salads that she stated the dishes would come w my 3 dishes that I ordered for lunch. What a rip off & see other reviews about the customer service of poor service!!! I would never recommend this place to anyone. Basically you pay for so Much rice & bad customer service. We traveled from NJ to get this service. I ate here a few times before I was as much of a slut for Indian food as I am now and I remember enjoying it then but I really lost my shit after this most recent encounter. We got home late after a work trip and I can promise you I was not about to cook and clean up the aftermath. It has been a minute since I've had decent Indian food where I've been staying and this meal was long overdue. I've been trying and failing to eat on the lighter side so I was thrilled to see some of my favorite, healthier seeming options on their menu: saag paneer and yellow dal tadka with an order of naan to sop everything up. Firstly, I love that they have vegetarian and vegan options, the saag paneer could just be saag, for example. Secondly, everything arrived PIPING hot. Most importantly, everything was fucking delicious. I honestly couldn't tell you which I liked more. The saag wasn't too creamy so I didn't hate myself after eating it but it was still tasty AF and overflowing with paneer. The yellow dal tadka was a lil soupy but the flavor was spectacular. The naan, which I chose to be "topped" with seasonings like garlic and shit, was soft, warm, fluffy, and incredibly tasty. This meal was SO fucking good. While I was packing away the spoonful of leftovers in each container, I thought to myself, "I wish I could order this every day" lmao. read more

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Amazing chicken madras , aloo gobi, dal chicken hariali, chicken vindaloo (I order it not too spicy ) and great warm nan. We decided to enjoy a quick lunch here, we had been here several years ago but usually frequent the Pleasantville location which is closer to our home. My husband ordered the chicken Tika Masala and I ordered the Malai Kabob. Both were hot, delicious and plentiful. They also brought over a delicious basket of Nan! I stopped in the other evening to grab a bite for dinner, to go. I ordered the Samosa chat appetizer, followed by chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and basmati rice. I absolutely loved the Samosa chat, it was creamy, with lots of Indian spices and textures, just delicious. My chicken tikka masala was excellent, really silky and flavorful. I think it was the most tender chicken I've ever had at any Indian restaurant. Just soft and perfect! I don't have any pictures this time, because unfortunately, I had to eat it in my car. This place has really gone downhill. We went for lunch. It seems as though there has been no upkeep. The tables are not shabby chic-- just shabby. Scratched up and trashy. There's the old section next door, with paper over the windows and glaring light. A door is depressingly left open to reveal what looks like an abandoned building site adjacent to the dining area. I didn't see any Pardon Our Appearance sign. There's no chai. No tea of any kind. Just hot chocolate or coffee. That's just odd at an Indian restaurant. The cauliflower had a terrible texture, as if it had been premade and heated up. All three of us agreed that the sauce seemed to be from a jar, and that it tasted like sweet and sour sauce at a Chinese restaurant. Really bad. My son said his chicken tikka platter was ok. My husband ordered a lamb burrito type thing. He made no comment, which isn't a good sign. I've been here many times over the years. Wow! This place! Walked in not expecting much and left in awe. Came here for lunch before going to work. The lady working the front was cool. The place is small but there is outdoor dining available. Ordered salmon kabobs which came with rice and salad. Great choice! They were juicy and tender and the rice that came with it was outstanding. Little salad came with it too. The only thing wrong with was I had to drive for about 30 minutes and the food wasn't as hot as it was initially. Next when I go, and I will go again, I'm gonna try and eat it there. This was my first time at Little Kabab Station and I'm so pleased with our meal! We ordered take out and got tikka masala (veggie + chicken), wings, naan, and lasoni gobi. The gobi was sooo yummy and the flavor of the wings was unique. And the meat was really good. The man who cashed us out was very friendly and I enjoyed the decor in the quaint space! For people who opt to dine in. This restaurant uses the next door restaurant (Little crepe street) to seat people. Maybe they have the same owner or some setup where they share the space. The food comes from next door and was just ok. Food was kind of cold when it arrived at our table. But my bigger concern is that the restaurant we were seated in was so dirty. The tables were sticky. We had to put napkins so our hands wouldn't stick. Even the floor was digusting. I find it difficult to comprehend that how can they have such a dirty restaurant where they cook food and where it is supposed to have the highest level of cleanliness. I cant imagine how dirty the kitchen must be if the outside seating area was so yucky. Definitely not coming back or ordering a take out! read more

Came home for the holidays and I was looking for some Indian food. The restaurant itself is more of takeout place than eat in (i.e., not very comfortable or large). Ugh! Really sad to be posting this. The food has always tasted great here, HOWEVER, on our latest visit we had to stomp a huge roach on the way out. If we had seen it first, we may have turned around before sitting down and quite possible why someone else had walked in, then suddenly turned around and walked right out. Although still skeptical, we took our leftover home and found a baby roach in our bag so now as much as we love the food, don't think we'll come back anytime soon. As you enter The Little Kebab Station, you will find a small, and cozy place filled with pictures of buses. Lunch specials are reasonably priced. $6 for vegetable dishes, $7 & $8 for chicken and lamb dishes respectively. I order the Chicken Tikka which came with on bed of rice. There was a side salad, and a basket of butter naan too. The food was warm, and each bite was light and refreshing. Unfortunately, the chicken was a little on the salty side. I must have gotten a bad batch of food because my experience doesn't mirror the rest of the people here. I was in the mood for some Indian food takeout for 2. My boyfriend and I proceeded to order the Lamb Vindaloo, Kalmi Kebab, and a plate of naan. The Kalmi Kebab was neither kebab nor chicken. It was the oddest plate we ever had. It was some sort of chicken patty but it tasted more like ground up, under cooked chickpeas than a chicken kebab dish. We swore we had received the wrong thing in the bag if we didn't know any better. The Lamb Vindaloo itself was good and the sauce was delicious. We particularly liked how tender the lamb meat was. The only thing that spoiled the meal was the small round black pepper pellets inside of it. There were a good amount of pepper pellets inside our sauce and each mouthful was uneven with explosions of spiciness. Granted walking in, i thought it was a cheap eats location, but when I started ordering and then I looked at the bill, it's like your average NYC indian restaurant prices. The food is yummy. You can see the cooks in the kitchen hard at work. The aromas wafting from the kitchen made my mouth salivate as I was awaiting my takeout order. The place is SMALL, so i recommend that you order food for carryout. The chili paneer was my least favorite dish. i felt the paneer can be creamier. The garlic naan and the chicken curry madras were top notch. I was hoping the madras would be spicier, but they left some hot peppers in there to bite into. YUMMO. They also give you a ton of rice with the curries. I still think there are better places, but they do have more expensive dishes. This place has decent food for the price points. read more

Awful experience. Never again. Warning: Do not go at 9:30 on a Friday night, even though they close at 10pm. They do not want you there. REPEAT: They do not want you there. They will rush you and close the whole place around you while you're still eating, not just "finishing up" but right in the middle of your meal, which they KNOW you just received. They brought the food at 9:45 and soon dropped the bill and asked me to pay so they can close the register. They didn't ask if I wanted desert or anything else. Just dumped the check and asked for my money. They did this to the other parties too. Of course then, the teenage waiter kept coming to see if my money or card were there. I didn't have more than 5 minutes to enjoy my food before this whole charade started. Then, my card didn't work because their system was off line or something. They bothered me again for the card. I actually had to get up and go to the counter, again leaving my dinner behind. This time it worked, but my food was getting cold and I hadn't even finished half of it. The food is not inexpensive, by the way. And the portion of the main dish was smaller than I expected. And any chance of my enjoying this rather mediocre food was further marred by them asking me to pay and by them closing the place and LEAVING. Numerous employees were all fleeing the place while I was trying to eat. And it was just turning 10 o'clock. By 10:10 half of the staff and cooks were out the door. Fortunately, they didn't actually ask me to leave, because an employee was still there counting money and a server was doing some side work, but half the lights were shut and they were literally around me with their coats on getting ready to leave. What was so alarming is that not one of the staff even remotely imagined what I was experiencing as a person who came to their place to enjoy their food. This leads me to believe they have little pride in their product, thus signalling to me that the food must in fact not be so fresh and high quality. (It could very well be canned or boxed, partially. Could depend on what you get.) No high quality cooks or conscientious managers would ever allow a staff to completely ignore a customer for the sake of their selfish desire to just close and get the heck out of the place. Honesty, I'm not a slow eater, and I don't see why they couldn't all just allow the three or four parties to enjoy their meals without being rushed. What would 15 minutes more of their time have amounted to? Would it have killed them? Instead, now they have me using my valuable time writing a review to warn others. And they have a bad review as a result. Is it worth it? (My guess is they really don't care about what customers think.) A simple 10 or15 minutes more, as well as a "would you like some dessert or tea?" would have gone a long way. Instead I left feeling I wasted $20 and 30 minutes sitting in an extremely unfriendly, unwelcoming, stress-inducing environment. Advice: Don't have people come in at 9:30 and expect them to eat in 10 minutes before you start shutting down. Just advertise your hours as 9:30. Not 10. I literally left the cafe with a whole piece of paratha in hand, and no one cared or apologized. Most bizarrre restaurant experience I've had in a long time. Bottom line: Cold uncaring staff. (Teens are probably very nice, but they are controlled by their superiors) Mediocre food. (Channa Saag) And bad customer service, the way they didn't put themselves in a customer's place. But I see this is a common complaint in the reviews. And if you MUST go for whatever reason you are compelled to, do not even THINK of going during their final 45 minutes of open hours.
