My weirdo self was in the mood for soup during this July '25 heatwave. Can't help it, soup is a year round thing for me. Up to the fourth floor I go to the Savor Food Hall in The Westchester Mall. As this was my first time going to the food court, I expected a full onslaught of options. Boy was I wrong. The food court was sparse, not as many food counters as one would expect. Especially from a high end mall. Maybe Covid had something to do with it? Out of the limited options I chose Bang, a Thai inspired food stall. The young lady behind the counter was helpful, explaining how their offer works. Choose a Bowl or Wrap to include protein, veggies, starch and get a free cup soup. I was going to just get the soup, but couldn't pass up this offer. My bowl consisted of a healthy serving of Brown Rice, Butter Chicken, Spinach with Mushrooms, Black Beans and Sweet Potatoes, all for a reasonable $14+. The Butter Chicken had a ton of flavor with a hint of sweetness. Sitting in the food court, I then tasted the soup which was also on the sweet side. I expected a little more aromatics plus a ton of Thai spicy heat. My scovill tolerance is high, so I went back and asked if they had any hot sauce. Didn't help, as all I could taste was sugar. The Black Beans and the Spinach mix were good. I only ate a spoonful or two and took everything home. Once home I doused everything in chili hot sauce, extra spices and a nice squeeze of lemon. Problem solved. I would patronize them again, cautiously editing my choices, if ever hungry while in The Westchester Mall. read more

Tried this place for the first time this evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. I had the New England Bowl and everything on it down to the sauce was great. I never tasted butter chicken before but it had such a wonderful flavor only negative was I wished the pieces of chicken were bigger and the basmati was a bit dry forcing me to blend everything together which I hate doing to my food otherwise I would have given a 5 star. read more

Very disappointed in this place. The very first time I ordered from here was very perfect. I ordered the red curry chili tofu, black beans stirfry, yams with the crêpe. Everything was fantastic and I came back a second time it changed a little bit this time I came back awful! I ordered the red chili curry and she gave me something that looks like chickpea curry, I tried to tell her that is not it, but she told me it was. It was a disgusting piece of tofu with no flavor and top with a ton of curry sauce! They didn't even try to at least cut it in to pieces, instead of this chewy block! I was in the The Westchester doing a little shopping and thought I would stop up at the food court since it was close to dinner. Even though the food court had been completely overhauled a few years ago, some of the newer businesses did not survive the pandemic, so there have already been some closures with new eateries taking their place. One of these newer spots is Bang, and since I had never tried it before I figured I would check them out. Bang serves Asian Fusion cuisine, and the menu is set up where you build our own wrap or bowl. As I approached the counter I scanned the menu - they make it easy since you build as you go from left to right. I ultimately decided on a bowl with sesame chicken and coconut rice. I was able to choose two sides so I went with broccoli and carrots as well as spinach-kale stir fry (because, you know, January). I got to choose a sauce to finish off the bowl - the guy helping me suggested the mango one so I went with that. To say it was a bowl is kind of misleading, it was more of a plate with sides- either way, I thought the food itself had a lot of flavor. The sides were a bit on the lukewarm side, but it's kind of understandable since veggies can get cold quickly if they are sitting out (I will say they had everything covered in foil to try and retain as much heat as they could). The chicken was definitely the star of the dish - it wasn't fried in the way you would find at Chinese takeout, rather breaded with a flavorful coating; the mango sauce and coconut rice complemented it well. Service fast and friendly; I won't say I was blown away by the food, but it was a solid dish, and I would be open to trying them again if I was in The Westchester. read more

To be clear, I didn't try the food. Wanted something refreshing to drink. Saw they had smoothie options, yogurt based for six dollars. I got the strawberry banana. I didn't see any blenders or anything on scene and when I asked I was directed to pre-packaged bottles. I was skeptical, so I asked if they were made the same day and I was told yes. You would imagine something light and fresh esp. for its price point. What I got was danimals or go-gurt in a bottle. If you've tried the drinkable yogurts you can buy for a dollar at the supermarket, the strawberry banana is the same taste. Artificial strawberry/banana flavoring. Chicken tikka had way too much acidity I think they added to much tomatoes. Spicy Hakka noodles was under cooked. All the sauces were either too sweet or too salty or too spicy and my spice tolerance is pretty good. Prices are high definitely don't get your bang for the buck here. The one star is for the masala chai that was the only good item on their menu. read more

Stopped here to eat after checking out the mall. Food was delicious, butter chicken was a tad acidic but other than that very very good. I got the butter chicken with black beans and potato crisps on white rice and it was amazing. But the service was top notch. This is literally my first time reviewing a place on yelp, but after seeing some negative reviews, I had to set the record straight. I frequent the area for work and have yet to try Bang until today. I got the sesame chicken along with the veggies and cilantro corn. The food is absolutely delicious and fresh! It's clear the ingredients are top notch. I am not a health nut, but love this place because I know I am eating quality ingredients while also eating super delicious and savory items. I really wanted to talk with the president or manager, but could not find a name. So: Anyway, my friend took me to Bang for a vegan Indian lunch. It was 2 pm and most of the trays were empty. I tried to order 'build your bowl.' I ordered cauliflower rice (it was mostly burnt and tasteless) and grilled vegetables (which were over-cooked and soggy)--and there was nothing else so I had more vegetables. We passed through from MD to RI looking for a quick meal. It's a build your own place with choice of bowl or wrap. My husband, who is vegan, had the jackfruit curry and power greens. He said it's rare to find jackfruit that's not spicy. I had the tofu on turmeric lentil brown rice and really enjoyed my mango and guava salad side with mango lemongrass sauce. I ate at Bang today for the first time, only because I wanted to try a new eatery in the food court, but I won't be returning! The girl behind the counter was very unwelcoming/poor customer service skills. Every time I asked about an item, her only response was "we're closing soon" so you can't have that.....after finally settling on chicken, even though I wanted salmon, and a bowl, even though I wanted a wrap--she begrudgingly agreed to make me a chai latte-- all while acting like she was doing me a huge favor, SMH....instead of acting like it was a burden to serve me, if she didn't want one last customer for the night, why not rope off the area to make it clear that you're closed! Food was descent, but not worth the unfriendly service--The Little Beet (next door) has practically the same type of options anyway....next time I will spend my dollars there! read more

Hubby and I got wraps here while at the mall. I went with jackfruit curry and he got beef. Both of our wraps were really tasty and I was pretty full after eating mine. Hubby was still hungry, but he's like a black hole for food. The mango salad and veggies in the wraps tasted fresh and I appreciate the vegetarian options. Jackfruit isn't something you see on many menus but it's definitely worth trying as a meat alternative. I like having healthier options to choose from in the food court. Great place to eat, even nicer people working there! I went up to the counter undecided and all three of the helpful staff led me in a delicious direction. It was late in the day so they were out of the tofu I wanted but they suggested the curried jackfruit. Offered a sample and I was hooked, not what I expected at all but totally delicious. I ordered the Amma and jack wrap with coconut rice, spicy and filling. Also had the nitro cold brew chai, spicy and delicious. I will be back the next time I am at the mall to try more from the menu. read more

I'm very confused on the name of the restaurant and how the food resembles it. The photos that they show on the screens look so different than what is being served and that is already not a great start in getting customers. The food was very overpriced, bland, and not appetizing. Also, the employees didn't make the experience any better, and wasted my time and money.
