I love indian food and this place solved my craving! The butter curry was so good and I was so happy they used the fresh chicken. I cannot bare with frozen or few days old chicken smell and they did not have that!! And it was so smooth. Loved that there were veggies in the bowl. Came with rice, the staff asked if we wanted more but we were already so full from the samosa and the naan. The naan was great though I wish it was more doughy. It felt a little bit too much like tortillas but still was awesome with curry! Chai was ok. Was expecting just regular black tea and milk kind of but it game with ginger and other spices. A little strong for me but with sugar it balanced. Also filtered clean tap water :)

As of April 2025, they no longer offer a lunch buffet. Instead, I ordered from their lunch menu--plenty of food and just as delicious as always!

I placed the order and waited approximately 25-30 mins. The server was helpful. The food is quite good. The ambiance is low key, kind of too dark in certain areas during the day, but comfortable and spacious. I'd recommend dining in or take out. PS 4 the lushes; there's a fully stocked bar that seems to have all your choices in poison

Yeah that is 5 stars. I can't remember what I ordered exactly but did ask the dude for the "spiciest thing on the menu" as usual. Wait actually, it was called the "Lamb Phaal" and it was pretty hot. I also ordered the "garlic naan" and damn that was good! Service is great, space is clean and they flex the Indian music videos HARD for everyone or enjoy.

Honest thoughts. We ordered the Ratings from 1 to 10 -vegetable samosas 10/10 very large and filling. Comes with 2 per order. Very potato heavy on the veggie filling. It came with 3 sauces, this mint sauce, balsamic vinegar based sauce and a relish. They were all very good -butter chicken 5/10 I was honestly so disappointed in the tomato sauce it was in. It was a super sweet sauce and lacked spices. If you like sugary sauce then go for it. We got the butter chicken because they said it was the same sauce as the tikka Masala but with dark thigh meat. The pieces of meat were cut way to tiny. Tender but was very cheap on the meat and had lots of vegetables rather then meat in it like onions, peppers Garlic naan was a 9/10. So good. -drinks included mango lassi and shirley temple. They were both very delicious. I think portions wise everything was worth it. We left full. I would give this place another chance. The ambience of the place was very nice and quiet. Employees were very pleasant as well and answered any questions we had. Cute mom and pop shop

Baigan bharta Worst Indian food ever. I don't think it fullfils Indian taste buds. I ordered baigan bharta and I couldn't find baigan in it. The dish didn't taste anything like bharta. Bhindi that I ordered, it was too ripped because of which it was difficult to chew it.

Service is fabulous. Must try their dishes from Kerala, especially the Meen Moilee. Street parking was easy when I visited (weekdays)

But I was excited to discover that Himalaya offers authentic Nepalese, Tibetan and Northern Indian cuisine, so I decided to step outside my comfort zone and explore the Himalayan side of the menu. We started with momos, Tibetan-style dumplings, which I was especially excited to try. They can be ordered steamed or fried, and we went with the mixed fried set, which included 2 veggies, 2 chicken and 2 beef momos. I tried the chicken and beef, while my daughter took the veggie ones home. We also wanted to try something specifically Tibetan, so we went with Sha Phaley, a traditional Tibetan meat-filled bread/pastry. Ours was filled with seasoned beef, fried and served with a chili and tomato chutney on the side. The chutney had a nice balance of tomato and spice and was a great complement to both the momos and the Sha Phaley. For our entrées, my daughter ordered Jalfrezi curry with onions and Himalayan sauce. The sauce had a bit of a kick, so I'll have to take her word for how good it was! Of course, I had to grab a piece of the beef with some garlic naan to try it for myself -- and I really enjoyed the curry. For myself, I chose the fried noodle mix with several proteins. The noodles were flavorful and the portion was generous -- enough to take some home for another meal! There are lots of pluses here: welcoming staff, a warm and inviting ambience, a full bar and plenty of free parking in the lot behind the restaurant. They also offer many vegetarian and gluten-free options, plus lunch specials Tuesday through Friday. And if you're looking for some weekend entertainment, they have live music Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings.

I ordered: Kerala beef pepper fry, kadai chicken, and kung pao chicken. Everything had wonderful flavor. I love things spicy, but when ordering from a spot for the first time, I order things medium. I wouldn't mind trying the "hot" versions of these dishes, but the "medium" versions usually give the most accurate representation of flavor. The Kerala beef (madras curry, coconut, red chiles, lentils) had an extra kick to it, and was very tasty. It would be best served table-side, as a delivery order left for later would leave a lot of fat and oil. It does not make for great leftovers. The kadai chicken (onion, tomatoes, ginger, garlic, fresh coriander) was a more mild tasting dish. Enjoyable flavors. I also got the kung pao chicken because of the attractive photo on the website, but it was underwhelming. Tasted fine, but the Indian inspired dishes pack more punch. This place has chicken tikka masala, multiple iterations of naan, biryani, paneer, lamb, samosas, butter chicken (the palm colored people favorite). They also have several grill and wok dishes: tandoori tikka, peri peri lamb, ginger fish, various iterations of lamb chops, various flavors of chicken wings, Szechuan beef, and more. The food was good, especially for delivery. Would not order for delivery again, as table-side would be much better. Great flavors. The place is probably perfect for this area, even if it has a bit of an identity crisis. Is it Indian? Chinese? Doesn't matter. Try it out and determine for yourself. You'll find something tasty for sure!

A good sign that we were in for a treat was that although only half of the restaurant was filled, most of them were South Asian families. The venue had high ceilings and though it was decorated in parts, still felt like it was a waste of space. The service was attentive and quick. We went with some classics: vegetable samosas, Chicken makhani, Baingan Bharta (eggplant), and garlic naan, and mango lassi since the masala chai was sold out. Everything was good, but each felt like it was slightly off. I was also a bit disappointed that the dishes didn't come in those classic metallic dishes, instead they came in white porcelain, but the important flavours were there. The Chicken makhani came in a portion larger than normal, which was good, but there was a spice missing that I couldn't quite pinpoint. The Baingan Bharta had a similar issue -- it was my first time having it, and it tasted like an Indian version of a babaghanoush; I liked that it had a kick, but it was a bit bland for my palate. Maybe more salt would have helped? The garlic naan was also standard, but thicker than normal without the crisp parts that I like. The mango lassi was good but watery and leaned on the tart side. All in all, a good meal and I'd definitely come back if I was craving Indian in Yonkers.

There is a moderately sized municipal parking lot across the street which you can pay for with the passport parking mobile app. The venue is small with a few tables and appears to be more of a take out rather than dine in spot. The server was very friendly and cleaned off the table frequently of empty dishes. The venue was clean and had Bollywood tunes playing in the background creating a nice and cozy atmosphere. We tried various small plates which included the dhokla, samosa chaat, & chicken samosas. The apps were small in portion but were well seasoned and absolutely delicious! The chicken samosas were served with ketchup and had a slight kick to them. For main courses we tried a plain dosa with sambar and coconut chutney, the butter chicken bowl & a paneer khati roll. The dosa was crisp and beautifully paper thin. The butter chicken was served over white rice & was very tasty. We only wished it had more gravy on it. The khati roll was packed full of paneer and not overly spicy. We loved the dhokla and samosa chaat so much we ordered a second set to take home. The venue offers traditional drinks like masala chai and mango lassi in addition to traditional sweets. The menu is small but fun and great for a quick bite to eat. Definitely looking forward to returning!

A friend had suggested placing the order the evening before so it would be ready on time, and that is what I did.
