The food was great and the service was good too BUT it's only getting 4 stars because the outside looks soooo dirty! I've worked in many restaurants and everybody knows u gotta make sure u sweep the outside and hose down or in this case scrub down the patio nightly or at least a few times a week! I'm holding out and giving 1 extra star because the food was actually good the first 3 times we went. I don't know if the owner has been busy or stopped caring but he can't honestly think Mimi is a good employee. We're sorry you hate your job, but you'd fit in better somewhere people arent involved. When I walk in and we are the only customers we expect to be greeted with a smile, or hello, or to be greeted in some way at all. Instead you're stuck on your phone texting with no regard with customer service. Attitude is 100% unpleasant for any customer that walks through those doors. The last two times we went in our food was not even close to what we ordered. Which is especially disconcerning since we were the only customers at the time. Get it right. These guys know how to make a burger. When I was younger I worked at in n out burger for 5 years so my palate for quality and freshness of food is there! This place has amazing taste. I ordered a carbless double burger with cheese and avocado... It came out so delicious and juicy. I would def recommend this place to others. Horrible mannnn I am soooo disappointed in the quality of food they decide to serve now like this is truly a staple of Pittsburg and they are cooking frozen patties u can tell it's processed ground beef and not handmade when they used to be the lettuce was dark and slimy my fries were dark and soaked in old grease and were far from fresh! I ordered a #5 with bacon which is a sourdough double cheeseburger can someone please tell me why they cut it in half and ones side was just bread and the other was stuffed with the two patties?! Horrible J! You gotta do better man and I live across the street from this place not even proud to say they are apart of the P I'm sure their tri tip is still somewhat decent I fear the day they fuck up their claim to fame which is their BBQ! Little J's catered my wedding in Brentwood. It was by far amazing and he definitely came through for us when we needed to find a caterer a month before my wedding. This is the place for red meat! Tri tip or burgers are the go to, but their chicken is also great. This place is an institution in Pittsburg and has a long standing relationship with the Pittsburg community. Prices are great, service is always friendly and quick. The only downside is seating. The restaurant is tiny with only a few tables so it can be tricky during a rush, but not so bad that i would opt to eat somewhere else. read more

This is a hidden gem! Today was the first time I came in to order a couple sandwiches and boy were they good! My husband had the chicken club sandwich that had bbq, bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I had the regular chicken sandwich with avocado and a side of onion rings. Not quite a 5 star for me. I still prefer my tri-tip sandwich from Kinders . Don't get me wrong the food we ordered was good. For less than $30 we ordered reg tri-tip sandwich, 4 piece cod basket with fries and hush puppies (wish we for garlic or season fries) and the western cheeseburger and a regular drink. We had enough food to fill us up for a late lunch and was able to bring some leftovers home. I would def eat here again but like I said, I still prefer Kinders . read more

The Tri tip sandwich was very good, horseraddish is mild as well so don't be afraid to get some on your sandwich. Good size portion for 10 bucks, I couldn't finish all of the fries, ate most of the sandwich though. If it wasn't so bad for you, I would probably come back more often, nevertheless, I will be back for another sandwich! read more

The fry sauce however is just delicious!! i always get the fish and chips my husband loves their burgers and the tri tip is always tender and they pile it high. only giving 4 stars because they are closed on Sundays and my fries are usually cold. This place is pretty good but it's not great enough for five stars. However, I gotta say that the customer service is excellent! It was our first time coming in and they helped answer any questions we have regarding the menu (my boyfriend is very picky and is always critical about everything he's about to get so he had a bunch of questions lol). But he ended up getting the new york steak sandwich. He thinks it's pretty good but he's had better. And I ended up getting the cod fish, which comes with two sides (I got 2 orders of fries since my boyfriend's sandwich didn't come with any fries). After reading all the good reviews, I went in with high hopes and I came out a little shattered. It is located in a very small shopping center with a 7-11 next to it. The seating area is pretty small. I ordered the 1/3 pound burger with large fries and a soda which cost about $13. The cost was a little high compared to the quality of the food. The food was just okay, nothing over the top though. The girl behind the counter was nice. The overall cleanliness of the place was good. There is nothing super special about this place. read more

I've been coming here since I was in middle school, I am now 23. Honestly, Little J's is the best burger place in Pittsburg. The owner is awesome, always treats you like family and really cares for his customers. A Pittsburg institution with the best tri-tip sandwiches around these parts. I like mine with horseradish but you also have the option of BBQ sauce or the just the lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise served in a soft roll. Unfortunately, you can only order it in a basket (fries & a soft drink) so the price goes up a bit. Fortunately, the fries are great. The cooks here have perfected the fryer. Whether its the fries, onion rings or the fish, they are cooked crispy without a drop of discernible oil left on them. The fish sandwich served with tartar sauce on the same soft roll is pretty good too. Hamburgers are really good. You have a choice of a quarter pounder, third-pounder or two-quarter pounders in your burger. The latter is a mean-lover's delight -.a whole half pound of ground beef. Little J's is a favorite with the cops. You'll often see a couple of police cars parked outside around lunch or dinner time. That's an endorsement of sorts. What Little J's does really well is a BBQ catering service. They have a portable smoker and grill that they can haul to your party and cook on site. Unfortunately, none of the BBQ items, tri-tip, ribs, chicken, beans, etc. are on the regular menu. If you're planning a party, ask for details. read more

I asked for Mustard and Pickles on my sandwich, but she either didn't write it down, or the man cooking it didn't see the note. My husband had their Cheeseburger, which he enjoyed. Honestly I hate to write this review. I've lived down the street for the past 4 years and have Been coming here on a regular basis and up until my last 2 visits I would of giving this place a solid 4 stars . Food is good and I love how "Pittsburg" this place is I will always go out of my way to support small business but my last 2 visits have been a big let down and I honestly believe its the cooks! usually when I go it's been a bald African American man cooking and have loved the food every time but last 2 times it was different cooks and the food has been horrible. first time around my girlfriend had the chicken tenders and they were burnt and dry as well as her and my fries. Today we had the the Cajun chicken sandwich and Hamburger both our buns were super Soggy and greasy and our fries again were burnt and just over all not what we are used to getting from this place taste wise! I will still continue to come here just because up to this point I had never been disappointed but I'm one more bad experience away from never coming back. I will even delete this review if things get back to normal and the food is good again. read more

This is one one of those hole in the wall places that makes one of the best sando's in the County. If you are looking for a tri tip sandwich this place is it. The freshness of the lettuce and tomatoes puts it over the top. In addition, this place excels at an often overlooked part of the sando which is the roll! By far the best roll in the area. I also recommend the Chicken Cajun sando! Be sure to ask for the special sauce for the fries! I recommend you get all the fixings, including grilled onions, barbecue sauce and horseradish on the tri tip. I always look forward to the one day a week I am in Pittsburg when I can go to Little J's. I'm a huge fan of their Tri-tip sandwich with horseradish. Comes with fries and a drink, making it the perfect sized lunch for me. The owner is always there and is very involved, and the staff is super friendly and always asks how everything was and is always very helpful. They've got a TV with NFL network playing all the time, which gives me a chance to get the highlights from the weekend's big games. Highly recommended! read more
