Really cute little spot with generous portions. I did get take away so I can't comment on the service but when we came to pickup they were very nice. We did arrive like 10 minutes after the expected pickup time to give some extra time for cooking but it was an additional 5 minutes wait. Which tells me if we were on time or ordered delivery someone would've been waiting rather long. The food itself is delicious, but I feel like one of the dishes (the one with the chips) was rather hit or miss depending on which piece you got--it was just rather dry. Overall good though, highly recommend the khinkali and kachpuri.

3.5 stars. Overall, I loved Georgian cuisine, but similar to Russian restaurants (that I'm very familiar with due to being from Russia), I'm not a big fan of the prices for food that is actually pretty simple and cheap to make. I ordered Khachapuri (cheese bread), Katmis Gvidzli (chicken liver) and Borscht (beet soup). Total price came out to about £23. The Khachapuri was the best thing I ordered. The cheese is a bit sweet, but the bread is salty. Amazing balance, and big portion of bread (could easily be shared by 2 people). I am a big fan of liver, but Katmis Gvidzli didn't impress. The liver was somewhat dry and while the flavor was there, I have had more savory and juicy liver elsewhere. I really appreciated the pomegranate reduction, though I would have loved to have tasted more of the pomegranate flavor. I would still recommend this dish. Borscht is something dear to my heart, because I grew up eating it almost everyday and I have a pretty good recipe that I like to compare other borscht to. This borscht was overly salty and too much tomato flavor. It tasted like someone spilled ketchup in it, which drowned out the other flavors. I would guess their borscht is chicken-based, which requires stronger flavor to be taken from the vegetables than the meat (as opposed to using a fattier meat, like pork). I would not recommend this dish. With that being said, I would still recommend this restaurant and will consider returning myself to try one of three poussins on the menu.

My first thought upon walking into this quiet, spacious, casual and homey restaurant was that this is the perfect place to take the rents out for a meal. Littered with several old school telephones and retro industrial lighting, this place oozes with the rustic charm of a lost era. My folks would love the fact that they could hear themselves speak without accidentally elbowing someone seated at the next table. No queues, no pressure to rush through your meal. The water they serve is infused with cucumber and mint - always a YAY in my book. This was my first venture into Georgian cuisine. Upon the recommendation of the waitress, who insisted that as a newbie I must try one of the signature and traditional baked to order cheese breads (Khachapuri or Lobiani), I ordered the small order of khachapuri from the hot starters section of the menu and the katmis salad from the cold starters section of the menu. Service is on the slower side, but if you're ordering either of the baked to order breads, there is no reason to not expect a minimum of 20 - 30 min wait after you place your order. And that wait is so worth it. The bread is straight up amazeballs - fresh and tasty. Fair warning - it's stuffed with cheese (rather than the cheese being baked into the bread) so it is on the heavy side. The katmis salad was flavorful but chicken served cold is not my cup of tea. The pomegranates gave the dish a nice crunchy sweetness. Portions for both the starters could have been shared by 2 - 3 persons.

Oooh I came back for dinner, and I like the Georgian food waay more than the sandwiches we had last time. - We shared some khachapuri (cheesy bread joy- this is gooey and gorgeous) - I tried the poussin in a white walnut sauce (mostly because the waitress recommended it) It was really tasty BUT was basically just good chicken and bread in a yummy sauce. I wish I had realised in advance so I could have ordered some sort of veggies or salad to go with it. - My friends both went for slightly safe option of kebabs, but they looked meaty and yummy. - The Georgian wine was refreshing and tasty too. With a tastecard, we only paid £40 for three people(!) including a bottle of wine...so it is a complete bargain. Tastecard saving: £16ish - yay!

I'd imagine the Khachapuri is (cheese bread), but I haven't actually tried that one.

The waitress seemed very frazzled when she took our order, as another few customers came in soon after us. Her eyes kept on darting to them and back to us. It was a bit odd... But soon all was forgiven. I got the cabbage roulette with carrots and spicy walnut paste, and the beetroot purée with walnuts, garlic and spices for a starter. Let me say, the portions are quite hearty for a starter. Both were delicious. I was particularly pleased with the beetroot as it was diced finely. I got the lobio- red kidney beans with walnuts and seasonings with "salad" and bread as well. It's served like a chili in a piping hot clay bowl-like item. The salad is just pickles and pickled veg but I loved it! The bread is just sadly white bread. My husband ordered the stellar Georgian cheese bread- khachapuri- which is just so damn good. It reminds me of stuffed crust Pizza Hut bread I had when I was a kid but SO MUCH BETTER. My husband got the Besides the food, this place gets top marks for giving both a brandy,a glass of white wine AND a Diet Coke on the house. Also we got a jug of water which I was eternally grateful as 90% of restaurants I've been to in London won't. (I drink water like a fish). The house wines- both the white and red- are fantastic. The white is a great dry wine and the red has a full-bodied flavour. Overall we loved it and can't wait to return.

Having recently visited Georgia my friend and I are now obsessed with Georgian food…read more Tbilisi had everything we wanted: Badrijani - aubergines with walnut paste. I actually preferred this version to the many versions we tried in Georgia, not so bitter Ajabsabdali: ratatouille, excellent Khinkali - spicy meat dumplings. Highly recommended although texture not quite as good as in Georgia itself, the filling was great though Lobiani: red bean filled flat bread. Very good although could have been toasted a bit more for my taste (I took some home and toasted it more though, so it all worked out). If this is your first Georgian food experience though, you should go for hachapuri We also got a chicken dish with walnut sauce which I think was called satsivee. To be honest at this point I was too full to cope with it so cannot remember what it was like - pretty good but overall I would focus on the above mentioned starters/khinkali/bread on future visits. That's what I like! And for drinks, plenty of Georgian wine but I went to town the Georgian lemonade. Georgian lemonade actually comes in multiple flavours - my personal favourite is pear but grape and cream (like cream soda) were also delicious. They also have the tarragon flavour I was too chicken to try on our trip...one day....maybe. Highly highly recommended for good quality, authentic Georgian food, drink and polyphonic singing!

There was a large (25ish) group of Georgians celebrating something, with toasts we did not understand (but happy to join in) and live Georgian musicians playing (no, we did not understand a word, but happy to join in). On arrival we received a free shot of vodka to set the tone. The Hachapuri and Beetroot puree appetizers were excellent. We ordered each of the three vegetarian dishes on the menu and enjoyed them all. You may not have the good fortune to be on the sidelines of a Georgian party, but the restaurant is well worth going out of your way to visit.

The upstairs tenant above them were very…read morenoisy and a strange mix of throwback 70s American and Foreign songs was played to cover up the noise. This all changed when the first of the my order arrived, the Borscht (a cabbage/beetroot soup with herbs and sour cream). The soup was seasoned perfectly, ingredients cooked evenly, and simply delicious. The Khinkali (dumpling of sorts that resembled an enlarged steamed Chinese dish called Xiaolongbao) was well seasoned and had a good balance of parsley and meat flavor. The only part that made it rather difficult to eat was a lack of a spoon. Eating the dish with a fork+knife proved to be a challenge and watching the juicy dribble away onto the plate pained me. Overall the food was well prepared and tasted delicious. Aside from the fore mentioned issues, this restaurant deserves a solid 4/5. Edit:5/5 the noise factor was out of the restaurants control and the spoon problem could have been solved by me simply requesting one.

I've never had Georgian food (and my friend was a Georgian-food virgin as well) and so we were both very excited to find out more about it. We ordered from the small-dishes menu: a meat blini and an order of the Georgian Meze. I have to say, the food was not quite what I expected...but not bad, just different. The taste palette is quite different from the usual Chinese/Indian/French/Italian...but well worth the try. The service was a slow, and the waiter was not really a great sales-person, but he was also all by himself and the restaurant was quite packed. Nevertheless, I would have loved to hear a little bit more about Georgian cuisine in general. Will I come back? Yes, because I have to try the main dishes as well.
