No, understatement, I LOVE dogs. Every time I'm at the St. Laurent mall I come into this pet store and freak people out by talking to the dogs like they are babies. The staff have always been really friendly and helpful, they give good advice and seem to know the store pretty well. They have a reasonable return policy and I had to return a cat carrier here once and it was very simple, they returned it even though we put my cat in it for a few minutes. They always have the cutest little puppies for sale, they cost A LOT, but I made sure to ask and they purchase them from reputable breeders and are against puppy mills. So please make sure you know where your furry friends are coming from! Don't support puppy mills! The puppies always seem happy and playful, which is a good sign when buying a puppy. Tip: If you pretend you're buying a puppy they let you hold them and snuggle them. Yeah I told you I love dogs...

The warranty they wanted…read moreme to sign upon purchase states that it would only be effective once the animal's paperwork is received by the client, so I backed out of the sale. I requested that I be called once the paperwork was available and I never heard back from anyone. I was refused contact with the manager and the staff was mixed (some helpful and nice, some not - they also don't seem to be well trained). I walked past the store today and the kitten is still sitting in her cage, unsold. I've never been to a pet store who refused to give me papers for a pet that I was ready to pay for then and there. Ridiculous. The smell in this store isn't the only thing that won't have me coming back.

As I looked upon the brightly lit plexiglass cases containing the "cute little puppy" I mentioned…read moreto my BF that these dogs were from puppy mills, and could be sick. The manager (maybe owner) then agressively approached me and told me to not say things like that. She began to argue that her dogs were from reputable and provincially inspected breeders, yet when I asked her for info about the breeder, she said she couldnt give out that information unless I wanted to buy the dog. I asked her why and she said they couldnt have people going to see the dogs. MAJOR RED FLAG FOR PUPPY MILL USE!!! And she then accused me of discriminating against her and tried to grab my arm.

This place should be shut down. Along with other animals kept in unsuitable conditions, they had 4…read morerabbits and 1 guinea pig that had no hay. When I approached the older women who was working about this, she told me that they are too young to have hay. I followed up stating that this is not true and rabbits must have unlimited hay at all times and without it, can become fatal (GI stasis). Not only am I educated on the matter, a google search on rabbit diet will share the same information. I was informed by the seriously uneducated worker that the rabbits had hay before, went to the vet and was told it was making them sick. This women lied to me as a simple google search has shown other citizens complaining about this issue at the same store for years. Additionally, I doubt a store who sells rabbits for profit took a sick animal to see an exotic veterinarian. This is animal cruelty at its finest and this store should be shut down. Please spread the word and boycott PetWorld.
