Best pizza in the neighborhood, but that's more about the lack of good mom and pop pizza shops…read morearound here, than it is about the perfection of this Pizza Nova. Truth is that 25% of the pizzas I get from here are outstanding, but the other 75% are just OK. What's the difference? Well it's primarily about who is working the ovens that night. The Pizza tends to be overcooked on the bottom and undercooked on top which is the sign of an oven that spends way too much time open. You have to get in and get out of the oven quickly to retain the Heat. Trust me I know this, via many years in the pizza business as a young man. Pizza Nova has the best crust and the best sauce of any of the big pizza chains BY FAR, love their italian hot peppers, and great fresh toppings. Sadly I dont like their bland pepperoni at all, but more importantly, if they would just learn good oven management the pizza would be much better, more consistent, and I'd give them an extra star. The polini and the potato wedges are actually surprisingly good for a pizza joint, the wings are just passable for oven baked wings, not as good as pub wings. And the focaccia barese is also quite good. It's fortunate for them there's nobody in the neighbourhood making really great pizza like Danforth Pizza House and Fresca Pizza. Overall it's not too bad, and every third or fourth Pizza is really very good, if only they could be more consistent, I'd be a big fan.

This Pizza Nova location has been the provider for our company functions for the last four years…read moreand even when I'm ordering 25 party size pizzas, they are always delivered fresh, piping hot and on time! We typically order a wide variety so that there is something for everyone no matter what their dietary preferences are... they even have gluten free (but it's only available in a medium size). Unfortunately, I don't know the delivery man's name but we always get the same gentleman and his customer service is outstanding! Whenever I'm having a company function, small or large, I know this Pizza Nova location can always deliver (no pun intended... or maybe it was)! :)

Grabbed a pizza to go…read more Ordered a half pepperoni and half killer bee. They don't let you do half on all pizzas but the first 5 or 6 on the menu. The pizza was great. Nice crust with a good chew. Good amount of toppings. Really solid New York style pizza. Dave Portnoys pizza review went to their downtown location and gave it a 8.4 if you follow him. There was no parking on Avenue but I found some parking on the residential street just North of the restaurant. The inside is really nice with comfy seating. Not a ton of seating but I think they get a lot of takeout. Service was good but I did have to wait more than the 20 mins they said as they seemed to be dealing with online orders.

Tried North of Brooklyn Pizzeria and it did NOT disappoint…read more I got the Caesar salad and a half Margherita / Killer Bee pizza, and everything was amazing. The Caesar salad was SO crunchy and fresh--like every bite had that perfect crisp, and the dressing was light but still super flavorful. You can tell the ingredients are really high quality. The pizza was just as good. The Margherita was classic and perfectly balanced, and the Killer Bee side had such a rich, unique flavor that made it stand out. And the crust? Light, slightly crispy, and just done right. Honestly such a solid spot--I'll definitely be back

Food 4/5 Service 3/5…read moreAmbiance 3/5 Food: We ordered a bunch of pizza's for our family. Bulgogi, AAA Steaky Smoked, Garlic Butter Chicken, & Veggie. We also ordered some chicken karage to try. I found the beef on the AAA Steaky Smoked & Bulgogi pizzas were very dry. Also the Garlic Butter Chicken didn't seem to have much garlic. This location is the only location near us now. I really wish the Yonge/Sheppard location hadn't closed. I thought their pizzas tasted better. Even though it is the same franchise. The veggie pizza tasted the best I think. But the rest of the family enjoyed the pizza & karage at leaste. Service: We were not impressed with the service. When we walked in to make an order it was just past 11.30am. The lady at the order window said we don't open until 12pm. Hubby was surprised as he had ordered at this location before 12pm in the past. Hubby felt she was a bit rude. So we went to a cafe nearby to hang out until 12pm. We came back & made our order. The lady who had told us to come back at 12pm was stomping around & put some other orders on the pick up table which were not ours. We ended up next door to order at Ikka Ramen (newly opened) to try their food as well. They were much nicer. Many came in to place an order & got their food before us. Made us wonder why our food was taking so long. We eventually got our pizzas but were not liking the service we received. Ambiance: Pizza Maru is actually combined with Katsuya now. The place is pretty ordinary looking. There are a bunch of booth tables. Most people seem to order takeout from here rather than dining in. The parking lot is not large & there are several potholes so be careful when driving in. I'm not sure if I would order here again. The service was surly & the pizza not as great.
