The pulled pork in my Sweet Carolina BBQ sandwich had the look and taste of long, slow cooking. Lots of color on the "bark", with a balanced mix of coarse chopped pieces and thinner shreds. I thought it slightly dry and maybe not as much smoke flavor as I'd like, but that could be the pitmaster's preference. Any dryness was fixed by adding some of the 4 available house-made sauces. I tried all and decided on the spicy barbecue. My meal arrived quickly, no more than 5 minutes at most. The sandwich comes with 1 side. I chose the potato salad, which was very good: mustardy and tangy with the potatoes "al dente." Two sizes were available, regular and large. I thought the regular was sufficient and a good deal at $11.50 with the side. The coleslaw was very small as usual, but, as it was intended to be put into the sandwich for the Sweet Carolina, was sufficient, and good. The menu also has burgers, ribs, wings, and some interesting sounding combination sandwiches. Like Fried Bologna BLT. And brisket. Wish I could have tried that. My only complaint is the menu is very sandwich-oriented. No way to order a plate: a meat and 2 sides, and maybe a slice of cornbread (actually hoe cakes here instead). Larger combo are available, like the Smoky B Sampler with ribs, 2 additional meats, garlic toast, and a side (just 1). Way too much for one person, and with just 1 side, not ideal for sharing either. Many interesting appetizers and small bites, including corn nuggets, fried pickles and green tomatoes, cheese curds with marinara. The inside was clean, a generic modern building. Outside tables were not set up - was it just too hot to sit outdoors? The floor could use some fixing up: it looked like they had scraped off carpeting and left the glue. Strange. Lots of TVs tuned to various sports, the sound turned off. Music playing at a medium level which I enjoyed. Very hard rock. How hard? 9.5 on the Mohs scale. And then all of a sudden it changed to Taylor Swift. That was jarring but ok. I like her too. Clientele at this midday hour seemed to be mostly working men on lunch break. I think I was the only one without blue jeans and a baseball cap. When I got up to pay at the counter my waitress reminded me that my drink (Coke) comes with a free refill in a go cup. I didn't really want more but she encouraged me so I was going to get ice water. I pressed the wrong button on the machine and got lemonade instead. Oh well, that's fine too.

If you're not familiar with the Greyline Station, it's a former bus depot which has been transformed into a miniature mall of sorts, with numerous vendors located inside, and I had read a sign that they hold a Farmer's Market on Wednesday evenings from 5:00-7:00 pm. The facility has an accommodatingly large parking lot with plenty of spaces. Nowwwww, to the REAL reason for this review! Once I parked and exited my vehicle, I smelled the most amazing fried chicken, and immediately searched for the source of such an enticing aroma. As I walked towards the building, I saw two nice gentleman sitting outside of the building, near a sign that said Wing KYng, and AHA, SCORE, I found the source of the wonderful fried chicken aroma! Those two gentlemen happened to work in Wing KYng. I told them once I procured my one sought out item in the farmer's market inside the building, I would be returning to procure some of that chicken. Upon my return to Wing KYng, I began asking my typical questions: do they have anything gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and egg free? The staff member was very knowledgeable and advised me that the dry rubs were my best option. I have a myriad of food sensitivities, so I browsed the dry rub options available, and chose a 6 piece chicken wings with Lemon Pepper dry rub. O M Goodness!!Fabulous is the first word to come to mind! The skin was so delectably crunchy, the chicken was moist and tender, and the flavor was perfectly balanced! The cost was $12.00, which is a great price in my mind for the best fried chicken I've had in a good many years. Although I cannot speak to these items, they offer a wide variety of flavors, dips, and Parmesan coated home cut French fries as well. I witnessed one staff member actually cutting the potatoes for the French fries. Truly nice folks work here, and the chicken was phenomenal!!! I will be returning here for sure!

The menu is small and not printed, instead…read moredisplayed on several blackboards adorning the walls, attractively written with colored chalks. As a "farm-to-table" type of place, many of the items included the name of the farm where the ingredients came from. As it was fairly busy I sat at the bar so as not to tie up a 4-seat table. Soon after sitting a pleasant smoky aroma filled the room and I saw the bartender fiddling with a kitchen torch. Making a Smoked Old Fashioned. So that's what I got. What bourbon, he asked. I wasn't sure so he walked me over to the side of the bar and there were so many! I decided on one arbitrarily, a local craft brand, and he approved. Only a $3 upcharge from the standard one. It was very good, though not as smoky as I expected. The cherry was premium, not the standard bar maraschino. I do like an Old Fashioned, but I sort of wished I noticed the list of specialty cocktails first, which were really unusual and intriguing. Such as the "Garden Gnome": Vodka, yuzu, olive juice, basil, St. Germaine, and gin. For beer lovers, a very large diverse selection, from Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Rhode Island, and Mexico. Most of the entrees are a la carte. Order sides separately if you want them. I decided on tacos, with sides of fries and roasted brussels sprouts. This works here even for a single diner because the sides are small and inexpensive ($4 and $5), though a larger size is also offered. The entrees also were reasonable, most $15. Even the Wagyu Steak was just $29, complete with sides. I've seen prices from $40 to $60 elsewhere. The tacos were Birria, which is a Mexican style of slow cooking meat - short rib in this case - seasoned with adobo. They included mozzarella cheese, cilantro, and pickled onions and cabbage. The flour tortillas were deep-fried and more substantial than usual. Two sauces were offered in tiny bowls. One was thin and was probably the braising liquid from the meat and the other white and speckled with green herbs, sort of like a raita. Very good. The fries, crispy, hand cut, crispy, and seasoned, were also very good. And the roasted brussels sprouts were amazing. The best ever - though I seem to say that often. Sauced relatively heavily in sweet maple glaze, tender, and not at all bitter. I was surprised that there were no seafood items on the menu other than the Smoked Salmon BLT taco. And vegetarians might have a problem here. Not much to choose from other than the Big Ass Pretzel or a green salad. For dessert I had Bourbon Butter Cake, with peaches, Amaro (a peach liqueur), bourbon, and ice cream. Good but it could have used more bourbon and liqueur. And it was warmed and served in a small cast-iron skillet so the ice cream was too melted for my liking. That's my fault. I usually ask for these types of dessert not to be warmed. The great meal was matched by the decor and ambience. Pretty brick walls, decorative chandeliers, and a huge welcoming rainbow flag. Maybe that keeps the MAGAs away. That's fine. They can eat at Chick-fil-A. (Joking. Everybody is welcome here.)

5/5 Stars -- Easily one of the absolute best dining experiences in Kentucky…read more We stumbled upon this gem on Main Street in Corbin, KY today, and it completely blew us away. Located in a beautifully restored 1913 Greyhound bus station, it brings a masterclass in farm-to-table dining with original brick-and-mortar charm. It's authentic, eclectic, and classy without an ounce of pretension--you'll feel just as comfortable rolling in fresh off a lake day as you would celebrating a special occasion. What we ordered (and you need to try): Wagyu Sirloin ($29): We need to talk about this. Served with asparagus and a twice-baked potato for $29, this is easily the single best value dish within a 100-mile radius. Unbelievable quality. Salmon BLT Tacos: Pure perfection, especially after a day on the water. Burrata Cheese & Peach Salad: Absolute fire. Fresh and perfectly balanced. Birria Tacos: Exceptionally rich flavor and executed flawlessly. Blueberry Tiramisu & Limoncello: A shocker of a dessert pairing to end the night--completely knocked it out of the park. The Bar: Drinks are poured with a heavy hand and crafted strong. The open-kitchen concept lets you see the passion this team puts into their craft. Huge thanks to Draven for the warm welcome at the door, and to Laura in the kitchen who pointed us directly toward the must-try dishes and nailed every recommendation. Don't let the reasonable prices fool you--this isn't just "good for Corbin." This is foodie-certified, top-tier dining anywhere in the country. A new absolute favorite. Thank you to the whole team for doing what you do!
