We tried this restaurant for the first time this past Saturday evening…read more My son was home from college ! We said we heard nice things about the restaurant and we tried it It was very, very busy. We sat at the sidebar and ordered a couple of beers and a glass of wine. They were absolutely delicious. The beer was outstanding. Then when seated, we ordered a rice bowl and some chicken egg rolls And another rice bowl and guacamole and chips which was absolutely delicious. The ambience and the food is definitely worth it. I give it a five star PLUS rating and review . Here in our little town of Tuckahoe.! There are tables and chairs and some cozy side couches with decorative pillows. A very cozy atmosphere and a hopping bar crowd as well in another area . I have just called all my local friends to tell them my Five Star experience at the restaurant and have highly recommended it to them. Next time , I will try the tacos and they have a very extensive menu of tacos and rice bowls. They also have a children's menu. There is a happy hour Monday through Thursday 4 to 7 and Friday 3 to 6 PM. I look forward to going to that as well. Happy dining ! signed , A very happy customer !!!

First time visiting and it definitely won't be my last! This restaurant has been around for about…read moresix years, and I'll admit I had previously dismissed it because it's located in an outer strip of stores where Harmon and Bed Bath & Beyond once were. I truly wish I hadn't--because I was thoroughly impressed with the food, the décor, the service, and the extensive menu. There are so many dishes I want to come back and try. From the moment we walked in, the restaurant impressed us with its vibrant, themed décor and incredibly friendly staff who made us feel right at home. Warm tortilla chips with chunky salsa and glasses of water were brought to our table immediately after we sat down, which was a great start. They have a full-service bar, and while they don't offer frozen cocktails, we honestly didn't miss them. I had a coconut margarita, and my husband enjoyed a passionfruit rum cocktail. He doesn't drink tequila, so I asked if rum could be substituted, and they were more than happy to accommodate. He chose a Tajín rim, while I opted for sugar instead of salt. Both drinks were strong, flavorful, and served in really nice, heavy margarita glasses. We both chose specials from the House Special Grill, and wow--what a great decision. My husband had the skirt steak and jumbo shrimp, served with a creamy corn salsa, and he loved every bite. I ordered the grilled steak with sautéed onions, homemade tortillas, cactus pad (nopales), rice, and beans. Everything tasted fresh, authentic, and perfectly prepared. We ended the night on a high note with dessert--one of the best flans I've ever had--paired with a glass of hot Mexican coffee. Absolutely delicious. Amazing food, great drinks, welcoming service, and a fun atmosphere. Highly recommend!

This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During…read moremy first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.

We ordered a steak and shrimp fajita bowl, and everything had great flavor. The rice, beans, and protein were well seasoned, and the guacamole was chunky and tasty. They also provided complimentary chips with salsa. We also ordered a fresh, in-house-made horchata. It had been a while since I had one that good, super refreshing and it really hit the spot. We had the chicken and pastor burritos, and chorizo tacos. Loved the burritos. Tons of flavor - both had char-broiled flavor to them. Very filling with nice sauces and black beans and yellow rice on the side. Fantastic burritos. Great taste great value - getting them the next time I'm back. Also had the Chorizo tacos. Really liked them. The chorizo was a little salty for my liking- still very flavorful. And in general, 3 tacos for me doesn't fill me up. So for value, I'm going to stick to burritos. Service was fast. Was there on a Saturday evening. No wait. Order was taken and ready to go in 5 minutes. The service was notably friendly as well. The restaurant was clean and inviting. I'm excited to know about Tako. I'll be back.
