We got the Al pastor torta, only came with cheese, pico de gallo, few strands of lettuce, tomato, 2 slices of avocado(even though photo shows a guac spread) and very minimal meat. Really had high expectations, maybe queso fresco or beans would have been nice to make it a bit more filling, if they are looking to not run out of meat. Salsa was good. Not really worth the $16 dollars for a torta, plus convenience fee if using card. And tip starts off at 30% unless you choose your own amount to tip. Ordered their larger tacos with fish and shrimp and got their nachos with al pastor. The flavors were amazing and appreciated the owner going over their different sauces. Liked the spicy sweet sauce and their green but their red sauce was very distinct in flavor too. Food was delicious! We had the street tacos and the quesadilla with the tomato tortilla. The tacos were on point. Everything we had was asada and the flavor on the meat was 10/10. The cook makes a yummy sauce that sort of taste like a mayo based chipotle sauce of some kind but it's a secret sauce so that's just my guess. And I still would've preferred a regular chile rojo or even verde but the creamy sauce went on everything pretty much and it did pair well with both the tacos and quesadilla. I was skeptical about the tomato based tortilla since I am not a fan of tomato texture in my food and I did mention it to the cashier and he assured me I would not be able to taste the tomato at all. Sounded perfect if I couldn't taste the tomato. But to my surprise, the quesadilla also came with shredded lettuce and diced tomato inside. You would think after I mentioned it to him he would've let me know or asked if I still wanted diced tomato. But perhaps it was my fault for not checking. Overall the quesadilla has a yummy flavor thanks to the asada and the cheese they use. My guess is a Oaxaca cheese. I would absolutely come back and try it with the spinach tortilla, no shredded lettuce and no tomato. Just a regular quesadilla with cebolla y cilantro please. Definitely recommend just make sure you're paying attention or asking questions. Being right in front of the beach is a huge plus. We walked right over to a bench to enjoy our food and our view. The food was a bit pricey for what you get (not enough meat in my quesadilla) and no actual seating but it could also be due to the fact that it's in front of the ocean. I payed $28 plus tax and a 3% processing fee making my total $31.50 for a quesadilla, a plate of street tacos that automatically comes with 3 tiny tacos oh and a small bag of Doritos my 7 yr old insisted on. A bit much considering everything but Either way, a couple small tables and some shade would be nice. Otherwise just walk on over to the beach but watch out for the seagulls, they'll try to bully you for your food. read more

My friend and I searched far and wide for the perfect taco shop. After walking up and down the Venice Beach strip, we decided to give Lit Burritos a try. After reading the amazing reviews, we decided that these were the best tacos Venice Beach could possibly offer. However, our expectations were quickly unmet by a skimpy serving size of what one might try to call a street taco if they were 50 pounds. My friend got the regular tacos because of the sales pitch the employee at the front gave us about them. These tacos - 2 for 15 dollars- were somewhat ordinary and nothing spectacular. I would not recommend these tacos to anyone who wants to feel satisfied and content. Unfortunately, these tacos were not worth the money for the serving size. read more

this food is not only incredible, but the woman who owns the place is also an absolute gem in this world. marlene is just such a wonderful soul. she's alive, she's bright, she's kind, she's funny, naturally so charismatic and genuinely loves her business and customers. the location is great. the vibes are just so good. it's not in a bad spot just a little off from the venice beach skate park and is a really good bite to eat on the beach. the prices may seem high to anyone who doesn't live in a major city with higher prices, but coming from denver means $30 order for two people(with a drink!)is actually a really fair deal. i'd honestly say this food is beyond price. the lit lunch chicken burrito with the sun dried tomato tortilla is absolutely delectable. it's a perfectly crunchy on the outside, but perfectly maintains the softness of a really good burrito. the lit sauce isn't too spicy for everyone. the average person lacking in melanin could handle this. of course, i am a spicy food lover. however, the sauce not having a "melt your face off heat" is a good call on a sunny beach, like in california. realistically someone's stomach would sit horribly after something so spicy, so i'm 100% in favor of this sauce with this business model. the sauce is also super flavorful. it's just a good, creamy addition to an already perfect burrito. there was a side sauce i got to choose, and i picked secret sauce. it's really, really, really good. it tastes like a mix of salsa verde and ranch, but it is secret. so i could be wrong. it was absolutely banger and 100% smacking on this burrito. if im honest, i could drink the lit and secret sauce. i also got the strawberry lemonade and oh my god let me tell you, that lemonade took me out and brought me back to life at least seven times. it's godly. it's so undeniably not too sweet, and not too tart. it's a perfect little cool drink with your burrito, or whatever you order. it's also not going to give you a weird sugar crash either. the strawberry is super good, too. it's just so classical and so perfect. it's the lemonade i've looked for all my life. i also tried the horchata and a chicken street taco. if you hate overly sweet horchatas, THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! her horchata's rice is fermented with the cinnamon and gives a really good undertone of cinnamon. it's also lightly sweet while still being able to recognize the sweetness of horchata. i cannot recommend it enough. the taco was a corn tortilla, which i know some people don't like, but to me it was traditional and i loved it. the chicken is really good and not chewy at all. it's not rubbery, it's a perfectly juicy chicken with a ton of flavor. the drizzle of lit sauce is so good and just rounds everything out with the cilantro and onions so, so, so, so well. ultimately, i would drive the 1,100 miles again to not only eat this wonderful food, but also support this woman and her amazing endeavors. please go visit this place if you're in the venice beach area or plan on visiting for the day. read more
