We are back at La Cabana and we love it. This time we did pick up and it was just as great as the food you get when you dine there. We usually dine there. The place is super old, but so pretty and well maintained. It is traditional Mexican food and they even have a sweet woman who makes tortilla fresh right there and they are so good. Seating is super comfortable and parking is easy. The service is so nice and kind. I love them. The entire staff is great. They also have some great desserts. My favorite thing there is their chimichangas. All of their combination plates are great and that is one thing we got for pick up. If you dine there, which I suggest, they make guacamole at the table for you. My grandson loves that. They are great with kids. There is just no reason not to go there. read more

We were a group of seven. We went in to have cocktails and snacks around 10 PM. The place is very well kept inside. Our server was prompt and efficient. The margaritas are very expensive for the small size you get. A house margarita half the size of a water glass is $13. My guava margarita was delicious, and everyone seem to like their drinks but the Cadillac margaritas were $18. We ordered tableside guacamole, taquitos, Chile rejeno , enchilada, and jalapeño poppers. The food was good. I would definitely go there again but let me warn you seven people $300. read more

Mercy Lord! We came her to celebrate my father in laws birthday, Venice is his hometown and this restaurant has been a staple to the community. It's been around since the 1960's It was my first time and I wondered what was good? My husband said he used to come as a kid and he remembered they had homemade flour tortillas! I went for the carnitas plate and it was everything I wanted and more. Tender and savory with the right amount of salt. You get a flour tortilla and make yourself a taco with beans, carnitas some guacamole and pico de gallo. STOP!!!! Chefs kiss. I want to go back just thinking about it. My husband got the quesadilla with chorizo and papas and he really enjoyed that served with beans de la olla. I need to go back. Services was good. Ambiance was quaint and comfortable. I just have to give a shout-out to Francisco Cruz at La Cabaña in Venice. I went there for lunch with my wife, and we both loved it. He made us feel right at home--like we were just hanging out with friends. He helped us pick out the food, the drinks--especially a delicious beer he served us--and he was super friendly. We even talked about soccer! The food was incredible--the guacamole, the tacos he recommended, and those garlic shrimp were just amazing. The food is good, the servings are big, the prices are fair and the service is great. I like El Verde, a huge burrito stuffed with chicken, pork or beef, and smothered with a tasty green chili sauce and served on a bed of rice and refried beans. I also like the guacamole, which is fresh and can be ordered mild or spicy. I wash it all down with a spicy michelada made with Modelo beer. This place usually is very nice. The outdoor patio is where to be weather permitting. Came here yesterday and ordered some al a carte enchiladas because I wasn't that hungry. I got the full plate instead that was $23, when it should've just been $14. This is probably because another person that came with us ordered 2 enchiladas with "rice and beans" so I'm guessing they assumed I wanted the same. I didn't eat the refried beans or rice so more or less a waste of money. $7 for rice and refried beans is overpriced anyway. The food was ok, but could've used more flavor. read more

It's very tiny and they use shredded chicken, which is like dog food they need to use a full chicken breast and it's absolutely awful. There's no creativity. There's no flavor it's dry. It has no salt. There's no sautéed vegetables they need to upgrade. This salad comes from 1970. I really feel like they need some improvement, but my husband's burrito was fabulous. Host, Juan seated us quickly. The booths here are always nice , roomy. Juan took a drink order ( and apparently made them himself). But this is one of those places you wanna go try out if your in the area. Today i tried el plato de barbacoa and it was very good. There was a good taste in the meat that I really enjoyed and the quality of the eat was on point. When I was biting into the meat it was super soft and the juice just flowed well when you bit into the meat. The tierra and mar plate is also really good the carne asada was also cooked to perfection and i liked that the meat was so soft that when you bit into the carne asada you werent wrestling with it to eat it. Over all really liked this place and I would definetely go back to it in the future. We waited an hr for our food to be delivered. Not a problem at all. It's Saturday night. But not separating the cold sides from the hot fried food is upsetting. Don't get me wrong, this place has been delicious every time but having to toss two dishes isn't ok.
