Celebrated my 26th birthday here and had a lovely afternoon tea experience with friends and family. The atmosphere was beautiful and nostalgic, esp with the vintage teacups and floral decor. Everything felt so cozy and welcoming. We chose the Lady's Respite and it was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches, scones, desserts, and tea selection were all amazing. The tea sets were also super cute, which made the experience feel even more special. I also owe the staff an apology because our table definitely got a little too loud at times. Everyone was incredibly gracious, patient, and welcoming throughout our visit. One of the highlights was that they gave me the cutest little spoon for my birthday. It was such a sweet & thoughtful gift, which shows little touches like that are what makes a place truly memorable. Another thing I loved was the gift shop at the front of the tea house. They have a wonderful selection of teas, teapots, tea accessories, and teapot covers. It's the perfect place to browse before or after your tea service. I ended up taking home a ball-shaped tea strainer and some rose garden tea. To the staff, thank you for helping make my birthday so special! What an adorable experience! My friend and I came here for some afternoon tea and loved everything about it. I got the masala chai (which comes with milk and sugar already, as chai does) and basically /all/ the vegetarian options that were possible for the afternoon tea for two bundle. The tea came out first and came in these cute little tea kettle cozies (see pic). The food was so good, we were absolutely stuffed by the end of it. Our favorite was the sundried tomato sandwich, followed by egg salad. Sadly the fig and apple sandwich was our least favorite even though we were the most excited by that one. I think it was because it was a little dry and not as creamy as the other sandwiches. We started at the bottom with the sandwiches and were so stuffed by the end we couldn't finish the macarons and other goodies up top. I loved that Lisa's Tea Treasures had so many veggie options so I'll definitely come here again for another afternoon tea experience! There were only 2 options on the menu for adults (and also one option for age 11 and under), and the lower priced adult option was close to $70. For what we got, it was very overpriced. Our group of 10 ladies visited Lisa's Tea Treasures for a friend's birthday and enjoyed our experience. Service was minimal but overall good. The nice staff made sure our tea pots are refilled. Parking is very limited as it is on a downtown street. There's a parking lot a block away. I split the high tea for two with a friend. It was the option the most sense for us as we were able to pick our sandwiches and not limited to the other pre-picked ones. It is quite expensive in my opinion. We got to try the milky oolong, lychee black tea, mango decaf, and jasmine dragon pearls. I'm not a tea expert but they were definitely very nice. They all had their own distinct taste and smells amazing. Each teapot had their own cloth warmer that I thought looked very nice. White and brown sugar chunks are available on the table. The sandwiches themselves are pretty good. Between the savory/sweet finger sandwiches options we tried the salmon, ham and brie, chicken apple pecan, and fig spread and apple. Came here to celebrate some baby showers. They are definitely on the pricey side but there aren't very many afternoon tea places in the area and for Los Altos it's probably to be expected. We were in the private seating area which was nice but is also quite narrow which made it hard to be properly served tea and other items since the waiter or the person seated has to squeeze each time. Not sure if that was a reason or if they were just busier that day but they only checked once on us for refills and if we needed any additional items which meant we had to be very proactive when they did come to serve us the next item to ensure we got whatever we needed. For 9 of us they only provided I think 2 or 3 tiny plates of condiments (ie lemon curd, clotted cream) I would have expected each person to have gotten a serving for these as they very quickly get consumed and need to be replaced but we never were able to get enough for everyone at the table which was really unfortunate considering the high price we were paying. They allowed 4 different teas which was nice so we had a bit of variety but again they weren't refilled enough so folks were thirsty at different points. We did the set course with scones, sandwiches and dessert. The desserts were probably the most underwhelming which is ironic since that is where I feel like a lot of afternoon tea places really excel in. The sandwiches were nice and since I'm more a savory person I preferred that over the dessert anyway. The scones felt like they could have been store bought since they were so sweet and processed tasting but maybe that's just their style. Overall if you want to do afternoon tea this is probably one of the fancier options you have in the area and worth trying. read more

I usually go to the Campbell location but I went to this one with a friend as it was closer to them. And I like this one more as they have more options than the Campbell location. The service was the same as at the Campbell location, they were helpful, and patient, and answered any questions I had about the tea sets. They checked on us and made sure to ask if we wanted our tea refilled, which was nice since I drank a lot of tea. The tea house, in general, is smaller but the same vibes were there. It has 2 stories and I think the upstairs was for bigger parties but we got to sit next to a veranda window, which was nice. It made me feel like I was in a cozy house. We got the High Tea for 2 for $~90, which is a bit pricey but the experience was worth it for me. The HighTea for 2 came with 2 teas, 2 different scones, 8 sandwich flavors ( can choose 4, 2 each), and fruit/dessert The tea we chose was the Vanilla Floral and English Breakfast. The Vanilla Floral was fragrant and had a hint of rose, it wasn't too sweet so it paired well with the scones, fruit, and desserts. The sandwich flavors we got were Turkey Cranberry, Chicken-Apple-Pecan, and Egg Salad with spring onion. My friend is lactose intolerant so we got these flavors but they were yummy and pretty big. My favorite is the Turkey Cranberry, it has a sweet and salty flavor and it pairs well with the other sandwiches and tea. We also got 2 types of Quiches; mushroom and spinach, which was a bit salty, but the tea helped with that. It was very filling and I enjoyed it very much. Some flavors can be pretty sweet but I enjoy sweet things so it worked for me if you don't, it might be better to get a different tea set. Gluten free review: A nice enough gluten free high tea experience. They have a dedicated gluten free afternoon tea (with gluten tax-- $5 more than the regular). I recommend letting them know when you place your reservation. They had me pick my sandwich flavors ahead of time over the phone. So the food: The gluten free bread is whole grain which is weird for tea sandwiches-- but hey at least it's gf! The sandwiches themselves were.... Fine. They left the crusts on the bread. The fillings were either barely-there or gluey. I wished for more flavor. They did have nice gluten free scones though! Rare find). I was also given a crustless quiche (it was pretty good), 2 small lemon bars (too sweet, not solid enough, not very lemony), and 3 small pieces of fruit (not an adult sized amount unfortunately). The waitress did not understand what gluten free meant-- she brought me a vegan bread-based item and was confused about why I couldn't have it. That aside, they do take precautions when asked: They prep gf in a separate area, and say that if it's extremely serious like celiac, that you should let them know so they can take extra precautions. The people I went with both got regular (not gf) teas and were very disappointed in their teas. They felt there wasn't enough food as well. Maybe upstairs was reserved for bigger parties? The other side of the store was filled with another (kid's) party. It was expensive, but you pay for the experience. We got high tea for 2 ($87) + one side tea pot ($14) since there was a minimum of $14 per person and another $10 fee for sharing tea. Sounds complicated? Yah, there were a lot of little prints on the side about all that extra charges. It was about $45 per person after tip and tax. I'm not sure if they have a time limit, but we stayed for slightly less than 90 min because they were closing. I honestly didn't do my (Yelp) research because I just followed my friends. I did manage to finish the whole pot of tea (milky oolong) by myself. One t filled like 3 cups btw. It's oolong tea with a milky smell - I liked it. I didn't realize that the tea was refillable until now...aka when I reviewed my picture of the menu. I would've definitely went for a refill if I remembered that earlier. They didn't ask if we wanted any refills (the only other high tea place I went to before did verbally offer if we needed refill), but I mean I guess they did ask if everything's good. Very unfriendly and not accommodating for special events. I wish the server was a better host for us on our special day given how expensive this place is. I had some cupcake toppers to put on the desserts and asked her if she could put them on to surprise the bride. She declined saying we should do it ourselves. All she had to do was to stick them into treats lol... We also had some table confetti decor. It was large pieces of paper and not messy at all. She told us if we did not clean it up, she would have to charge a cleaning fee. A couple of girlfriends, my sister, and I had our Galentines here recently. The store is located in the middle of downtown Los Altos and has a pleasant and quaint ambiance. We initially were confused with the menu and thought we could order the Duchess' Delight ($44.95) for the table or per two people because it stated that it had to be $14 minimum per person. However, we found out that you have to order a set per person. We personally didn't like that there was this restriction because one set seemed good enough for at least two people. We each ended up getting a Queen Victoria's Tea ($25.95) and our personal teapots. The teapots were super cute and kept warm with their floral cloth covers for the majority of our time there. I personally chose the Peach Blossom and it was perfect. The food itself wasn't much but still tasted good. The staff is friendly and they came out to sing Happy Birthday to a couple of people. Lisa differences: - Everyone is allowed to choose a different food set. The only downside with this is everyone's food came on a plate. The sandwiches at Tea Time came out on tiered plates-- super cute! - Everyone can choose their own tea! At Tea Time, we could only select 4 for 7 people. Here, we had 6 different tea pots which we shared amongst the 6 of us! Tea time did offer us to smell samples of their tea before we chose our 4 teas, which was very sweet of them. - I noticed Lisa's Tea Treasures offered milk while Tea Time offered sugar cubes. - Dessert. I don't think dessert was even an option at Tea Time. - Ambience. My time at Lisa's Tea Treasures is exactly how I imagined a tea party. Floral decor and very cozy. Tea Time was fun, but it was definitely more minimalist and modern. - Private Parking-- not many spots. Located near a residential area so parking is available on the street. Tea Time has no private parking space, and is located downtown. I found street parking very easy and Tea Time though, just a 1.5/2 block walk. The wait staff was harried (busy time of year, I'll give them a pass); the scones and tea sandwiches were tasty; but, the desserts were below par. There was a little chocolate cake ring (ok); a macaroon (who really likes a macaroon?) and another chocolate cake slice with peppermint that tasted like bad mouthwash. Where's the variety? Two chocolate desserts (one inedible) and a bad cookie. There should have been a custard, a fruit tart, a pecan tart, a cheesecake bite, a petit four...something tasty and different. We had the High Tea for two, which comes with a few cookies and lemon curd, Devonshire scones with cream and preserves, your 4 types of finger sandwiches (your choice) a couple more savory bites, dessert, and fruit. I chose their Winter solstice mix tea. I'm not a big tea person, but this tea was quite flavorful; I liked very much. The dessert turned out to be small servings of lemon bar, cream puff, and chocolate eclair. Fresh flowers on the table and as garnishes added to the "special occasion" atmosphere. We went as a party of 4 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. While it is pricey for the food you get, you're paying for the experience and ambience which I think was well worth the price. We got a couple tea settings including the High Tea for 2, the vegan tea service and the Queen Victoria's Cream tea. The high tea for 2 is the best value for your budget as you get cookies with lemon curd, scones, and a three tiered decoration filled with small bites and sandwiches. The goat cheese and sundried tomato was my personal favorite sandwich. The vegan tea service was also amazing as it included vegan cookies, a vegan scone with vegan butter, regular sandwiches and croissant sandwiches and multiple vegan desserts. Finally, the Queen Victoria's Cream tea is best if you are working on a budget but still want the tea experience without as much of the food - you just get scones and cookies. I took my mom to this tea place for Mother's Day. We previously went to the Lafayette location before it closed years ago. To my delightful surprise, the finger sandwiches and other savories were a little larger and generous than the usual petite sizes you see in some of the fancy high tea rooms in SF hotels. I was the first in my party to get there. There was a line to check in. The staff is very nice and sweet, but you do not see much of them. We did not get a menu until after quite a bit and we saw out hostess quite sparingly. Food/Tea: If your party orders the same tea set (we all got the Christmas Celebration tea set - $50 per person), you will not each get a teapot. At other tea rooms I have been to, we each get get our own teapot. Here, you get 1 to share, so you might want to order different teas/sets. First is the soup, then a plate with small sandwiches, etc., and finally is the dessert. Everything tasted pretty average, from the tea to the food. The chocolate log cake was super sweet. I don't think any of us finished ours (but it was cute though). Price: The price is about the same as other tea rooms, although I think the selection/offering at other places I've been to have been better. Our total was $250+ (we just got the tea sets, nothing extra; I'm not sure what the breakdown exactly was-I just paid haha). Decor: Super cute! The table was nicely lined with white linens and cloth that was pinned onto the ragged, what felt like dog chewed it underneath. Food: Everything could be ordered à la carte but it wasn't difficult to see that the sets were a tad more affordable. We both ordered the Queen Victoria's set with petit desserts and fruit. Teas with cozies to start - very proper! The first plate that came out were two Biscoff cookies for each person and a table spoon of lemon curd. Strange to have stamped cookie from a bag come out first - is this an amuse bouche? Few minutes later... we each had a thin half moon shaped orange, 2 grapes, one pinky length cantaloupe square and four single bite/half dollar sized sweets. I was deflated. The picture added was shot after we both took our one sweet each. Lackluster would be an overstatement on the presentation. Based on the food alone this would be 1 star because it's all overpriced mediocrity. But my daughter wanted to try afternoon tea and she really enjoyed the decor/atmosphere of it all so more stars. random perk: you can also make reservations without speaking to a human using Google assistant. read more

Extremely overpriced. Food is average - our scones were undercooked on the inside and overcooked on the outside. There were crumbs on the carpet under the table, manager is borderline rude. $175 for tea and snacks for 4 ppl. Total rip off. It was a very disappointing experience for the amount of money we spent. read more

We gathered twenty women in the upstairs room for a bridal shower a couple of months ago. Thao and the Tea Treasures staff were fantastic to work with. Everyone felt very well cared for, and the food was delicious. Plus, the tea shop is utterly charming. Thank you Thao! read more

An awesome high-tea experience with good friends! A bit on the pricey side but still good. We ended up paying about $50 per person, included tea, mini sandwiches and some sweet treats. Tea for two is just about right for two...and costs ~$80. The mini sandwiches were my fav. I am a vegetarian and tried a few different varieties all were amazing. And the butter blueberry scone was oh so delicious....please make sure these two are included in your order. Across 4 of us we ordered different varieties of tea so we could try all...all were good, white pomegranate, rose and winter solstice is what we tried (forgot the fourth one) The place is well organized with elegant decor. Loved the designs of the tea set and the little tea cozies/warmers were super cute. Overall had an amazing experience and will definitely come back again. Also great for kids...they have special customized order for kids - including kid friendly tea and lemonade, cookies, eclair, mini pizza bites and ends with a scoop of ice cream Will be back! read more

Visit: 6/27/21 Birthday celebration for Cindy! Came here around 3:30pm with a reservation. Probably best to do so if you are coming for a special occasion! Parking: plenty of parking lots and also street parking right in front. They did move a portion of the seating outside too, so you have the option of indoor or outdoor. There also seems to be upstairs seating too. Ambiance: photos don't do it that much justice - it actually looks a lot better in person, lol! Super cute but also a nice, calming environment. Menu: probably the easiest thing to do is to get a set? We wanted to try different things, so we each got a set and that was more than plenty of food for us. We ended up trying: 1) My Lady Respite ($35.95) 2) The Duchess Delight ($37.95) 3) ....forgot what the third one was called, but it was one of their specials of the month I think Overall, food was all pretty good! Ah Lisa's Tea how much I love this place! I so appreciate that now they offer Gluten Free tea experience which is so so inclusive and I admire such places.I was very excited to be back here after so long (probably 2019?) and try the gluten free tea experience. I ordered the white pomegranate tea which was nice and floral. I remember that usually they provided a tea strainer but perhaps this was a tea bag. Unfortunately the tea steeped for too long during our time there and got bitter. Now to the sandwiches: the flavors of the sandwiches were good. However, the gluten free bread was a bit stodgy and did not leave a good taste in my mouth. Between the two of us we ordered: egg salad sandwich, Goat cheese sub dried tomato, ham and Brie, apple peacans sandwiches. The scones were quite nice. The best thing was crustless quiche which was basically a frittata. Lots of cheese and it was divine! For dessert: the lemon bar was too sweet for me but the brownie was on point! read more
