I was googling places that had "off the rack" dresses in the Denver metro area and came across Lisa's shop (Under "Chiyo's" that had each dress posted online with a picture - that in and of itself was a huge time saver when we're talking about having to shop around for something quick! And true to form, when I arrived, the dress was there and very well priced (she's no longer really selling so the dresses are clearanced). She helped me try it on and was very kind and also helpful with the corset! She's just very sweet - I think we ended each appointment with a hug. ;) Note: The signage on the building is different (I think it was "Tux Tailor" or something after finding it as "Chiyo's online) and it's kind of a hole in the wall - a great hole in the wall find, no less! She let me come back 30 minutes later with a friend for a second opinion, giving us ideas on what we could do with accessories, a bustle, etc. The fact that I walked out with a dress and had an appointment to bring it back closer to the date for a final fitting/hemming/bustling all as a one-stop-shop was amazing! She'll also preserve it afterwards for you and do alterations in a pinch if needed! I was able to cancel my appointments at other shops for the day and just go to lunch with my friend and breath a sigh of relief. So, naturally I bought a scratch off from the 7-11 next door after finding this dress and won my dollar back... Lisa's your lucky find, I guarantee it. ;) read more

Excellent service when I bought my wedding dress here. Brought it down from a size 22 to 1 1/2 without issue and beautifully when the dressmaker no longer sold that dress and it was the last one. Lisa also altered my maid of honors dress even though it wasn't purchased there and did amazing work as well. I started going to Chiyo's Bridal to get a couple of alterations and repairs done to a Sport Coat I purchased based on the recommendation of a sales associate at JCPenny. So far my experience has been really great! Lisa was able to do the repair on the Sport Coat seam and a couple of buttons in just under 24 hours and everything turned out great. When I went in to pick it up the next day I brought another Sport Coat in to have the sides taken in the sleeves shortened just a bit. She was very helpful with getting everything marked up and ready for the alteration (took less than 5 minutes) and when I was getting ready to pay for the previous work she had done she told me not to worry about it and that she appreciated the business! So far I am very happy with the customer service and work at Chiyo's. Assuming everything turns out well on the next Jacket, I plan on taking all of my alterations here in the future. Four years ago, we got my youngest daughter's wedding dress here, and we knew we would return when it was time to get my oldest daughter's wedding dress. If I were a Yelp member four years ago, it would have gotten the same rating as I am giving it now. This is a wonderful little bridal shop. The customer service is fantastic. Prices are reasonable (as reasonable as wedding dresses can be). We went there on a Sunday afternoon and my daughter spent about three hours trying on dresses. She narrowed down her choices, and the only reason she didn't choose "the one" is that she is a little too far out from the wedding date. We will definitely return as we get closer to the time and will buy her dress here. Four years ago, we went to another, major bridal shop (at Aurora Town Center at I-225 & Alameda) and while that bridal shop is bigger, the customer service wasn't anywhere close to the customer service we received at Chiyo's Bridal. Also, in our humble opinions, the selection at that major bridal shop wasn't as good as Chiyo's Bridal. This time, we didn't waste our time by going there. That should give good reader an idea of how much more we like this place. read more

I agree with the other reviewer, if I could give this place a zero, I would. I took my three bridesmaids to this place to look at dresses for them. The cutsomer service was sub-par but we didn't think too much of it. The samples were all out on racks for you to look at but they weren't any catalogues available. We ended up finding a great dress that all three girls loved. When the dresses came in, I called to pay for a portion of one of my maid's dresses, and she applied it to the wrong dress. Rather than calling me and admitting she was in the wrong, she charged my card a SECOND time. At this point in our wedding planning, I cannot afford to be waiting around 7-10 business days to be reimbursed for her sloppy mistake. I spoke with her over the phone regarding her error and she would not let me get a word in edgewise. Claiming that the banks make it so that I cannot get my returned monies without waiting. When in reality, she should have given us in-store credit. OR called me before charging me twice. If you're looking for the fun shopping experience with your girls (and minus the headache) stay far away from this place. read more

I went in to try on some dresses, didnt have an appointment and walked in 20 min before they closed but the lady working there didnt mind helping me and letting me try on a couple of dresses. She was very helpful and wasnt pushy at all. They dont have the biggest selection of dresses but the prices are really reasonable. I'll definitely be coming back earlier to try on some more dresses and maybe even buy the perfect one! read more

In my search for wedding dresses, I ended up at Chiyo's because they carried a designer I was interested in seeing. The location threw me off a little bit. Located in a strip mall near Iliff and I225, I wondered what I was getting myself into. However, I visited on a Tuesday afternoon and was informed I didn't need an appointment to try on dresses! Score! I worked with Tracy, who was a sweet as could be. She helped me pick out dresses and let me take in as many as I wanted to try on. She helped me lace up, get into, and weed out the bad dresses. I ended up loving two dresses after about two hours of trying on. She was sweet enough to hold one for me for over a week, which I know isn't customary. I brought my mom and bridesmaids back in on a Saturday and Tracy helped me slip into the two favorites again. In the end, I got a sample dress from a different store, but I can't speak highly enough of Tracy. She spent quality time with me and I never felt pressured to make a purchase. Oh and they give huge discounts on their samples if you want to take them as is, and if they fit! Something to keep in mind. The prices were great!! read more

Just got married on Tuesday, and this business was by far the most stressful part of the wedding. The lady who handled everything couldn't remember anything for more than 10 seconds. She even did some of the measurements and they still didn't fit when they arrived. Ended up calling the corporate number myself and arranging the replacements because she told me their was no way she could get new suits in 5 and a half days out. We were asked for our credit card numbers no less than 6 different times because she kept losing them, and when it was all said and done most of the stuff was still the wrong size. read more

This place SAVED my wedding! I ordered a dress online (big mistake) and it was just the worst thing I've ever seen. My mom then took me here because she knew that they carried the dress that I actually wanted but didn't want to spend all the money on it. My mom talked to them, explained the tragedy of my online dress, and they ended up giving mom a sample of my dress for half the price! It was the best thing ever! The dress turned out to be a bit small but I was working out to lose weight.They said not to worry and that they could do alterations quickly if I needed it. I didn't need alterations in the end (hooray!), but I did take it back to get it bustled. After one place quoted me $125 for a two week bustle job, I was so thrilled that Chiyo's offered me a one week bustle job for $15! They have been nothing but nice and efficient. My mom was so grateful and every transaction ended with a hug because they have made everything so easy! Love them! read more

I went in to look around and see what they had recently in search of 'the dress'. This place has a fairly decent selection of dresses in a range of sizes (mostly smaller sizes). The sales person was very pleasant. I am sure there are some dresses that were really good deal off the racks but of course the only ones that I had any interest in were out of my price range. I did notice that the dresses here aren't hanging in any protective material... what this means is if you are planning to buy off the rack you will likely get something that has been touched by many people's oily hands leaving a wonderful little residue on the fabric. This shop is pretty much all dresses (bridal, prom and wedding party), as far as accessories and things go... there isn't much. read more

There was a smaller selection of prom dresses than I expected but they were well priced. The quality was much better for the money than what we found at the mall and other dress stores. They also do tailoring so if you need that, very convenient. read more

I purchased my wedding gown at Chiyo's Bridal and Tux and my bridesmaids did as well. I had a great experience shopping for my dress and the saleswoman was so helpful allowing me to try on a least 9 dresses until I found the perfect one! She was not at all pushy and gave me a lot of space to choose what I wanted and also offered suggestions once she understood what I was looking for. She was very knowledgeable about the inventory and told me that the price on the Alfred Angelo dress I finally chose was going up in the next week so I should buy it soon. The dress came in in a timely manner and I had no issues with it. My bridesmaids bought their dresses at Chiyo's and received a discount because I bought my wedding dress there too. One of my bridesmaids had an issue with the size of her dress. She knew what size she wanted to purchase but the saleswoman convinced her to purchase a bigger size. She explained that the dress cannot be exchanged once ordered and her "ribs will not shrink by the time the wedding comes." When the dress came in it was definitely too big and the size that my bridesmaid was going to order originally would have been perfect. She purchased alterations for the dress at Chiyos and was not impressed with the work. The zipper was off somehow. Chiyos has a fantastic selection of dresses, however if your dress size usually veers off the sizing charts, make sure you stick to your guns and don't let them order a dress that you know will not fit you. I would also recommend that you go somewhere else for alterations if you need them for a wedding dress. Something so important should not be left to chance between mediocre and superior work. read more

Lisa was beyond helpful when I went in today to find my perfect wedding gown. With the wedding only 3 months away I knew I was pressed for time and needed a gown in extra length because I am very tall! Lisa assured me that I didn't need to worry and she would be able to alter any dress in the store to fit my length. They have a HUGE sale section and my dress was 50% off because it is discontinued and in perfect condition. I stumbled across this dress shop and even though it is not in the best location the customer service was well worth it. I came in this afternoon to look at bridesmaid dresses. They have pretty much all Alfred Angelo dresses in stock and we had great customer service. Also, I left my purse here and didn't realize it until an hour later. I called the store and was told no worries, they had it. This was the most UNHELPFUL bridal shop I have ever been to. The sales ladies were unfriendly and did not help my bridal party once. We left without dresses and will intentionally be going elsewhere to purchases dresses for my eight bridesmaids. Part of the buying experience is customer service. read more

I found this place for my daughter to go to she had a formal dinner to go to on Friday she found the dress on Thursday The lady in there told her that she would do the alterations on the dress and she could pick the dress on Friday she said it will cost $37 so my daughter said okay my daughter goes back on Friday to get the dress there's no alterations done on the address she tells my daughter oh I'm sorry if you want me to do it it'll cost $77 I will never recommend this place to nobody read more

I needed tailoring done to some dress pants and sport coats and found Chiyo's. because she did the alterations for JC Penneys at the Mall at Aurora Town Center. At first I drove by it several times since I did not realize it was part of her Bridal shop. Since that first time I have returned multiple times to have pants, sport coats, and suits modified. Lisa is very professional in her work and a very personable person, always smiling. Her work is outstanding and I have never had any issues with her tailoring. She is also pretty quick in getting the work done, within a few days or a week at the latest. I am also amazed at how reasonable her prices are. I would recommend her as a tailor without hesitation. read more

This store had horrible customer service and they were sly and dishonest. I went in looking for a specific dress that was supposed to be 180.00 flat. I tried on the size ten they had which fit perfectly everywhere except for my upper back. We go to order the dress in the color needed and she measures me and tells me it will be 230.00 because I need a 16W because of my hips, and that it will have to be taken in everywhere else(an extra 20.00 at least) which is completely false because as I have said the dress fit perfectly everywhere except my upper back(Its a tie corset style dress) The dress fit exactly as it was supposed to in my hips. This made me very angry because they were charging an extra fifty dollars for a dress that I already know will have to have altered and taken in completely. She also said it would be this much extra because it was a sixteen W instead of a sixteen R. I have never been this size for anything in my life and I did go in knowing that I would need a slightly bigger size because formal dresses usually run small. However, I never dreamed of being forced into a dress seven/eight sizes too big. The woman after making me very angry said that it would take two weeks tops for the dress to come in. Two weeks have come and gone and I still have no dress. We called to ask about this and she then told us it would be 3-5 months for the dress to come in(this will not do the wedding is in august) and when we asked about a refund(only two weeks in out of 3-5) she said that was impossible because the dress will be made in China and it is already in their computers. We fought with her back and forth and she basically said she would NOT do anything and it was our problem. My friend(the bride) then called her up because she wanted to see what she could do and she was very angry, the lady admitted she probably ordered me a dress too big and said that it was our decision to order it though(this being after she tells us that if the dress comes in too small they cannot reorder it or take it out) She basically made us get the bigger dress. Then when she cannot find any more excuses she said it was my bust size which made it the bigger dress which was not even true she said it was my hips originally and my bust would have to be taken in. She told my friend again that she would not do anything or give us a discount or refund and that it was our problem. She said that the three-five months is standard and that is what she told us(I have two witnesses and myself who heard otherwise) and my friend said why would she order a dress if it could possibly overlap and not even get here until after the wedding? To which the lady had no reply. She eventually admitted being sneaky and up charging us as much as possible though. Not only has this owner caused extreme irritation and stress I will now not be able to attend half of the wedding events in Florida to be there for my best friend, I will not be able to leave until this dress comes in(which could be later then the wedding) and I will have to pay double for lat minute alterations($200.00) and My plane ticket will be almost double because of this. This woman has caused extreme stress and cares nothing for what she has done. She was rude and deceptive. I will NOT get my alterations done there when my dress comes in, Nor will I EVER go to this store for a gown ever again. I am extremely stressed and displeased. read more

Chiyo's Bridal is the worst briday shop!!! My husband and I came out in my cousin's wedding, and I was one of the bridesmaids. The dresses were very pretty, but a little pricey for the quality they were in. I had my dress altered, and when I picked it up, I had to fit it to make sure it was the way I wanted it to look and feel, but in my eyes it had to be altered again. However, I kept it to myself and told the chinese lady in the shop it felt good. I ended up paying a fee of $45 for alterations on top of how expensive the bridesmaid dress was. I also picked up my husband's tuxedo, and had to pay around $210 for his tux. After I left from they shop I went straight to my mom's house to have it once AGAIN altered. After my mom finished with the alterations in my dress, I tried it on, and it looked great on me! On top of that, I didn't have to pay her a dime, because she knew how much money I've spent on it. The day of the wedding came, and I was getting all glamorous with my bridesmaid dress, shoes, make-up, etc. My husband was also getting dressed up, but told me the tuxedo pants were too short on him. I saw him with the pants, and they looked high waters on him. I wanted to laugh, but I just kept it to myself. We left to church, and when my husband and I came back from church, he took off the tuxedo pants and put on some black slacks instead. He looked alot better with those black slacks then he did with the original pants. After the wedding was over, my husband and I had the chance to talk about the issues we had with chiyo's bridal, and we ended up paying about $500 or more altogether with my bridesmaid dress, the tuxedo rental, and alterations. We payed wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much money for just one night of fun. I would not recommend chiyo's to anyone. read more
