So my future sister-in-law booked this place for me to try on wedding dresses. She had heard good things about this place, but had found her dress and didn't need to go to new places. Anyway, when you first park you are greeted with a store front that looks kind of like a 90s prom, party store. Images are big and they are a bit dated, but don't let the quality of the outside fool you! The inside is actually very well kept and feels like your traditional boutique bridal store. When we went inside, we were greeted by Victoria and she told us that we could browse the dresses and just use a clip to clip anything we wanted. The store was portioned out into different sizes and each rack was then divided into style of dress. I did notice they had a decent selection of short dresses which was one thing I was looking for. So far the best seletion I had seen. They also had a back section for super expensive dresses. So they are a consignment store for both pre-owned wedding dresses and other bridal stores that are consigning their previous years' selection. (If you want to consign your dress, they evaluate the price and you have 90 days to sell it. I didn't really find dresses that were pre-owned. Most were sample dresses that were getting consigned by a bridal boutique.) After you go through your selection, then you would try on the dresses and then the stylist would pick out any other dresses for you once they got your style. So the dress process was fine. They had a good selection of unique dresses that I was eyeing and there was never any pressure to purchase anything from them. (I did find that even though this was a consignment store, the prices for dresses were still pretty high for certain dresses. I guess I was expecting them to be cheaper?) I had already purchased my bhdln dress, but wanted to check out a couple more stores with my future sister in law. If a dress could knock out my bhldn one then I would cancel my order. Needless to say, I did not find a dress to topple the bhldn dress, however, I still had a great experience. So please come check this place out! read more

Weddings are expensive. Save your money and make a free appointment somewhere else. Unfortunately I had a terrible experience here. I think its important to specify right off the bat that all appointments you make here are paid, so I paid to have this experience. I don't remember the name of the lady who was supposed to help me, but if yelp lets me do photos I do have a half picture of her. She has mid length dark straight hair and is the one in the photos wearing the white sleeveless top. This was my first time going in to a bridal shop to try on dresses and was supposed to be a fun and exciting experience, however the whole thing was pretty awkward and overall upsetting. When we first arrived, the lady asked me the same questions that were on the questionaire that I was required to fill out when booking, which made me believe she didn't look at my answers before the appointment. I showed her my inspiration photos and when I told her my budget she told me it would be hard to find a dress like the one I wanted with the budget I had. That was good for me to know, however I wasn't expecting her to basically check out. I picked out a few dresses and she helped me into them but that was about the extent of our interaction. She asked me questions about my fiance, and when I told our story she gave short, uninterested answers in a way that made me feel like she was supposed to ask these questions (which to be fair she probably was) and she didn't really care. It's interesting that this is on the Altar's website: "Our stylists are kind and gracious, and most of all, fun! Their infectious love of all things bridal will reflect in your shopping experience. We will guide you with our expertise in gown construction, structure, style and fit. Your stylist will then pull all of the dresses you picked and also make suggestions on additional styles you might like." When I was coming out of the fitting room and showing my friend the different dresses, my stylist had absolutely zero input. There was no effort to show me different styles or colors, or generally get any portion of her "expertise". The only time we heard from her was when I told my friend I liked the different shade of white and the woman said, "ivory". The most upsetting and just plain disrespectful thing about my experience here was actually that, towards the end of my PAID appointment, the lady was actually eating her lunch in between interactions. Not only that, but watching her go off and sit in another bride's fitting while I was still trying on my dresses. Completely disrespectful. I am very unhappy with the way this day went. I drove 45 minutes because I was recommended the Altar, and my friend drove 2 hours. I honestly just want my money back and to forget it all happened. I don't know why I was treated differently than the other brides, and I would hate to think that my budget being too low at a consignment shop was the reason for the poor treatment, (mind you it was hundreds of dollars above the lowest price they advertise on their website) however I can't think of anything else. read more

Came to this store to help my sweet friend try on dresses for her wedding. There were so many dresses to try on in all sizes, and lots of dressing rooms and stations. The store was super clean and inviting. There was a little drink and snack station as well. The associate Victoria was amazing. She made the experience wonderful for my bride. There were lots of different styles of dresses to try on as well as veils, and huge price range so you can find something in your budget for sure! My friend found a dress and veil she loved and I can't wait to see it on her next year. They don't do alterations here but will happily recommend some! read more

I purchased a dress here and regret it. I purchased a size 14 and the sales associate ASSURED me I could have it taken in by their expert seamstress to a size 10. She acted like this would be no big deal. See photos of how the dress looked in-store vs how it looked post alterations. I left a separate review for the seamstress, but the store should know she replaced the clean bag they sent me home with and gave me a dress bag full of dust, glitter, and hair. Imagine having to lint roll your dress a million times to get all that off. My main point for Altar is that they should not sell dresses to young brides for thousands of dollars that are far outside the bride's size. The business is greedy so beware of this. read more

I read through the reviews posted on google and yelp before I initially went to the Altar Bridal. There are plenty of positive experiences, which gave me a false sense of trust. I am writing this review so future brides do not make the same mistake I did. Beware of the Altar Bridal! I painfully regret purchasing my wedding gown here. This was my first time purchasing a wedding dress and I really wish I had done more research or gone to other establishments before going here. My hope was that I would be able to find a dress I loved while saving some money and choosing a more 'environmentally friendly' option from a consignment shop. To start, there is a $35 fee to shop here, which is very unusual, and in my opinion a scam for them to squeeze more money out of you now that I have gone here. The biggest regret for me was that I trusted them when they told me the dress I tried on that was TOO BIG would be easily and affordably altered by their alterations partner, Gabriella. I had never had anything altered before, let alone a wedding dress, and these people definitely prey on first-time brides that do not have this knowledge beforehand. When I tried on the dress that I ended up purchasing (now regretfully) it initially looked nice and I felt comfortable with the garment clamps that they placed. They told me I could take the dress home that day and gave me the card for their alterations partner, Gabriella. I let them know I had never had anything altered before, that I wanted to keep the costs low, and inquired about the estimated cost to alter the dress, given all the garment clamps that were placed to make the dress fit. I was assured that it would be affordable and straightforward. My experience was the exact opposite. The quoted cost of the alterations from their partner Gabriella, who by the way is located across town, was almost $1000. You do not find out this information until after you purchase the dress and of course they do not accept returns! I was in absolute shock and full of regret. The alteration process was extremely time consuming and stressful, requiring multiple visits and I went way over on my dress budget. I see now that the Altar Bridal shop does not have alterations onsite for a reason - they would never sell any dresses! read more

This is your sign to book an appointment at The Altar- I can't rave about Victoria and this store enough!! I loved having the ability to peruse on my own and pick dresses that called to me to try on, but I was also so impressed with Victorias selections. She knows the inventory so well, has worked at the shop for years, is chill, upbeat, encouraging, kind, gorgeous and made the entire experience! I was lucky to be able to try on sizes in the 10-14 range for which they had a ton of options. The store is organized very well, it was clean and beautiful and I loved the show room. I found many dresses I loved and was so happy to have Victoria walk me through my second day ever trying on dresses. Well this place is fine. The dresses are all used on consignment so you need to be realistic about their condition. Watch for tears and buttons and zipper issues. They say that the dresses are washed but I would definitely wash it again after purchase. The interior in here is blah and cheesy. But it's big and spacious enough to try on dresses comfortably. I appreciate that the sales girl was direct and up front with me. No games. To me the prices weren't that great. The sweatshop in the back is freaky. Of course the seamstresses are hard at work but yuck..it looks like a jungle of world labor laws back there. It's all about luck here. read more

Two stars because the prices are good but their service was awful. First, I had to pay $35 which would "guarantee assistance in the shop". I didn't have a problem with this when I booked the appointment for my friend but it wasn't a full-time person. Our dress attendant was split amongst 3 brides and wouldn't even help my friend get in dresses. At other locations, I had to put a deposit down but was refunded once we arrived. And, at these other locations, we had someone dedicated to helping us. Her time wasn't split. It was almost like I was paying the hourly wages so the business owner didn't have to pay the employees herself. The $35 was not worth it. Second, we were not treated nicely. Our attendant was incredibly kind and thoughtful. My friend decided that she was really liking a style and so we went to look at a few other options. Another attendant barked at us to stop what we were doing and when our attendant came out of the fitting room the other attendant yelled across the store to complain about us. I understand that maybe we misunderstood what we were and we're not allowed to do but we also didn't mean to do anything incorrectly. We were not being malicious, inconsiderate to others or causing a commotion in anyway. This totally killed the vibe of the appointment. Not that this maters too much but we were looking at dresses in the expensive section so we were well paying patrons and were going to make a big purchase especially for a consignment shop. If I didn't feel like I was having to pay for the labor (ie. $35 deposit), I could put aside the bad behavior from the employees. But for $35 non-refundable, I expect better service. read more

What a cute consignment shop! I originally had my appointment 5 days out , but I was able to reschedule it online and I love the convenience of being able to do that. When I arrived they already had a sheet with my name and details on it, which I was quite impressed with. As soon as I walked in a woman came up and helped me and let me know where the dresses were that would fit me best. The woman helping me said to put a clip on all the dresses I liked and then she would also shop around for me while I try dresses on. I went around and clipped all the dresses I wanted to try on ( about 4 or 5). They helped me take pictures of the dresses I tried on and didn't pressure me to buy anything. After I finished trying on my last dress, I was waiting for them to bring in a couple dresses that they thought could work, but no one came in with dresses. So, I got dressed ( I had layers and boots on because it snowed the day before). Then when I walked out the woman asked if I wanted to take another look at their selection, and so I thought ok.... I'll check again. I actually did find another dress that I wanted to try on, but then I also had to get undressed to put on the dress. I felt the service was lacking a little bit in comparison to the other bridal shops I went to. Anyways, this place doesn't really make you feel like a bride, but rather you're shopping around for a dress . Which, is ok...but I was expecting more when you're about to drop that much on a dress. I really did not like the fact I got fully dressed just to shop for myself again. However, they did text me a dress that just arrived at their shop a couple days later in case I was interested. So, I did like the fact they kept me in mind even after I left the shop. I'd have to say this is an OK shop when I take everything into consideration ( selection ,prices and service). read more

I wasn't sure what to expect walking in, but all of the dresses were organized by size and there were a variety of different styles. I ended up with the PERFECT DRESS! The shop is not overly pretty and the staff is not very knowledgable, but if you are looking for a good dress at a great price...you can find it here for sure. I was able to find a beautiful David's Bridal dress, brand new with original tags. The dress originally sold at DB for $499.00, currently on sale for $349.99 and I purchased for $300 + tax. Saving $200 + shipping + dress bag was amazing! I was basically able to get my dress and all alterations done for less than the original price of the dress. I visited The Altar Bride in Lakewood, CO on a whim. I figured I would check out what a "consignment" bridal shop did and didn't have to offer. Out of the 3 bridal shops I visited that day, I was most impressed with The Altar Bride. I was welcomed and made comfortable right away. Victoria was working and not only was she SUPER patient and understanding with me ( I am extremely indecisive) she also knew her dresses, inventory and styles very well. Victoria helped me figure out my style while still encouraging me to try different things, "You never know until you try it on," she said. They allow you to go through the entire stock of dresses and look at each one. A feature that not all bridal shops allow, oddly enough. Dresses here are about 30% "pre loved" and cleaned, and 70% samples from designers. So its not so much a consignment shop as an outlet store. That's the one thing though. What they have is what they have. You cannot "order" a dress you like in a larger or smaller size or different color. Because they only have that one dress, be prepared to either get your dress that day, or they do allow you to put it on a 24 hr hold. All dresses can be altered with their in-house alterationist, Gabriela. I haven't had my dress altered yet but I will absolutely use Gabriela. She is not associated with The Altar Bride. She just has a work space in the back of the shop. This is a good thing though because she can work on any gown, even ones not purchased at The Altar Bride, and the staff their do not hike up the rates to make a bigger cut. She charges you what she charges everyone, regardless of where the dress was bought. read more

This was my first wedding dress experience, and based on the rave reviews I was very excited. Unfortunately, it was not a great experience for me, mainly due to the dress consultant we had. I felt rushed the entire time with the consultant saying things like, "You only have 20 minutes left, I have to clean and put all these dresses back, you can only get two more to try but that's it." (After only trying on 8 in a 90 minute appointment). I showed the consultant pictures of what I was going for, and she only brought one dress to me, that wasn't even similar. The other consultants were regularly going out and finding dresses for their brides and attentive the entire time. When I asked directly if they had any dresses with a similar style to what I was looking for, she responded, "We may have something in the high-end room, but it'd be out of your budget." I asked her to still check, to which she never did. (My family sitting right outside the dressing room confirmed after the appointment.) When my mom was looking at dresses in the size of the dress the consultant pulled for me, the consultant barked at my mom, "Those are too small for her, those won't work!" She was also saying things in the dressing room to me like, "Only try on dresses you want, don't listen to what they're picking out." Now, I understand many brides need encouragement to draw these kinds of boundaries, but my family wasn't being pushy at all, and I'm a believer in the fact it is as much of an experience for them as it is for me. Lastly, when I was looking at strapless gowns, she said to me, "Those are strapless, that's not what you're looking for." This one I understand a little bit more, but I feel (since I've never tried on a wedding dress) I should have the freedom to pull whatever dresses I'm drawn too. It doesn't feel good to be told what I can and cannot try on. Lastly, I understand this is a consignment shop, but many of the dresses looked dirty on the bottom, or inside from makeup. Had broken zippers or small tears. The consultant assured me they could be fixed in alterations, but was also quick to tell me it would cost more. Some of the other consultants were nice and very active with their brides, so I do believe other reviews of great experiences are valid - just unfortunately not mine. Literally went here just to get an idea of shapes and details I'd be interested in for my dream dress as our wedding is a little over a year out...I knew I had plenty of time but have also known my luck with dresses and it's been awful since I was a teen (swimming shoulders ). Staff was so patient with me, did I want plain, did I want lace, did I want bling? What fabric? I literally had no idea. It was dress #4 or #5 and I knew I could not leave there without it. I felt magical in it and everyone in the room knew it was my dress. Even though I have a year, I could not walk away for that super affordable price with the crazy amount of detail that made me finally feel like a bride, something I've never even dreamed of! So happy my google searches led me The Altar and I'm so excited to piece everything together around my dress. I will so be back in July of 2022 to post a photo to this review! read more

I was so happy with my experience here! They were absolutely wonderful! I didn't end up getting my dress here as I fell in love with one elsewhere, but I wish I had. The experience here was far better than anywhere else I had gone. Even the place I bought my gown at. I wish I could remember the gals name that assisted me. She was blonde and about 5'6. She was honestly wonderful and really helpful. She was also very energetic and excited for me. I felt like she generally cared about me finding the right dress. She was honest about what did and didn't look good. She was not pushy at all. I cannot recommend this place more! Seriously if you are looking for a dress please go here, you will be treated well. I only tried on the new dresses and they were all amazing. The consigned dresses were also in very good shape and were beautiful themselves. They have high end designers for much less. I bought my wedding dress here last week. The consultants were attentive and very friendly. They had a great selection and I was able to try on as many dresses as I wanted without feeling rushed. That being said, shopping here for your wedding dress is not your typical bridal salon experience. As others have mentioned, you do share a consultant, I picked my own dresses that I wanted to try on. This did not bother me and I had a great experience here. After going to two other bridal dress shops, my mother, sister, and I drove to Altar Bridal. I had the best experience and found ten dresses that I would've been happy wearing in my wedding. Victoria helped us out, and she was amazing. Not at all pushy, but super attentive. I was concerned she'd become impatient if I tried on the same dresses five times, but she told me that's perfectly normal and was happy to clip the same dresses over and over to show me what it would look like after alterations. I can't rave about this place enough after my experience there. Plus, I found my dress for $199. Consignment, but it looks brand new. If possible, I'm even more excited about getting married now :) ! I bought my dress from here in May. They have a large selection of decent dresses. I believe the owner helped me with my dress. She will tell you anything to sell a dress, so keep that in mind. I know this is a consignment store but it seems very unkept. I found myself cropping the dirty shoes they keep for women trying on dresses out of my pictures before sending them out. The decor is really tacky and dingy. I didn't let that deter me because I loved the dress that I found. When checking out they tell you about receiving 50% of the price you paid back when you return the dress. They don't tell you that you need to reconsign it with them and if it sells you get your money back. I am not familiar with this process so maybe they just assume you know this already. Last but absolutely not least, please don't get your dress altered with their seamstress. If you have simple alterations then I think you'll be ok, but I needed a lot of alterations done to my dress and it is a complete hack job. It was given back to me with pulls and strings hanging from it. It looked decent, but I was not happy with it. I took it somewhere else and as I tried it on the zipper broke and I was told that the whole thing was put together poorly. It was tight in all the wrong places and there was a bunch of extra fabric on the inside seams that should have been removed. I think Gabriella saw the problem and that it was too tight, but didn't want to do the extra work to fix it. When I asked her about it in the store she said it couldn't be fixed. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere more professional. The place is definitely worth checking out if you're looking for a deal on a dress. They also have another location in centennial so don't forget to look over there too. read more

Great spot to find bridal accessories! They seemed to have a ton of dresses and lots of people trying on too. I went in to find a bridal belt and found exactly what I was looking for. I would absolutely suggest checking out their selection if you are shopping for wedding attire. I was really impressed with their customer service as well. Despite being very busy with people looking for and trying on dresses, they took the time to give my high quality customer service and made it a great experience for me, even though I was just looking for a belt. This is THE place for brides that can't justify spending thousands of dollars on a wedding dress for one day, but want more than the generic David's Bridal styles. I found the perfect dress here for well under a grand, but it looks more expensive than that. They have a huge selection of new, used, sample and designer dresses. The store itself was bright and modern, with a feminine pink, black and white color scheme that gets the estrogen flowing. I also loved how spacious and private the dressing rooms were. Customer service was also spot on. I was pretty relieved when they said they wouldn't be helping me with gowns in the dressing room. I'd already had a complete stranger see me buck naked at another bridal boutique and I just wasn't psyched to do it again. The girls started a fitting room for me, helped with zippers and ties, clamped the back when needed and provided just the amount of feedback. Luckily I only had to try on 4 dresses here to find mine, but I imagine they would have been patient with a more indecisive bride as well. I decided to consign my dress here based on how close they were to my home. I am very glad that I chose them. The ladies helping me were very kind and the store itself is very clean and organized. I was able to sell my BEAUTIFUL Maggie Sottero dress in a week and was presented a check right away. The only reason why I give them 4 stars is because I wish I would have looked around other places to get my dress cleaned. The price wasn't horrible but I didn't like the idea that I had to pay a good amount to sell my dress. Besides that, I would recommend anyone to come here. Side Note: I read a review from 2013 where a woman was sold a gown for double the price. I could reassure to all future brides that they look up legitimate prices online and work with the seller before putting out a price. The only reason you may see a VERY cheap price for a dress (or really anything) is because it's too good to be true and may be a copy from china. These people know their bridal gowns. My best friend Allison M. (who I am maid of honor for), her other two bridesmaids, and the mother of the bride came in here looking for the perfect dress on a Sunday a few weeks ago. We had a little bit of frustration at the beginning because we arrived a few minutes before they opened. No problem, we could wait in the car. However, at 11:05 (their quoted opening time), the doors were still not open. We decided to drive around the block in the hopes that our absence would magically open the store. Tada! It did. When we went in, Tiffany was there to help us, and gave us a general idea about what kind of dresses we could find where in the store. We found some really great dresses, and Allison ended up trying on about six. Tiffany seemed a little bit disinterested at first, but ended up getting into the process with us towards the end. She also picked an amazing veil to go with the perfect dress; effectively sealing the deal, everyone welling up with tears. The price definitely right, especially for a dress as elegant and classic as the one we found. I can't wait to see Allison walk down the aisle in this dress and I am so glad that we were able to find it at The Altar. I would definitely recommend this store to any bride on a budget. I personally had a great experience here. The only other dress shopping I had done before arriving was a funny David's Bridal trip. The woman there really had to clue what I wanted and was pretty pushy in the wrong ways. At least I got that out of my system. Since I knew The Alter didn't take appointments I arrived right when they opened and the gal who helped direct me and pull a few dresses was super helpful. Turns out the first dress I tried on was the one, and I picked it out! I like that the employees are certainly there to help and direct if you need, but that you are able to hunt for yourself as well. 1 and done. I bought everything including 2 veils, a sash and the dress for under $900 (and my dress has actually never been worn). I would recommend this place for sure! read more

I had an awesome experience with Tiffany on Saturday. This was the first bridal boutique I visited, and I was feeling apprehensive about finding dresses I would like, yet she made me feel at ease. Tiffany greeted me right away and was very friendly, asking me about my upcoming wedding and showing me the layout of the store. She was patient as I took my time choosing dresses and selected some great options for me to try as well. I probably tried on 10+ dresses in total, and I was impressed with how spacious the dressing rooms were, and how bright and cozy the shop was overall. After I figured out all of the elements I was looking for and gained a better understanding of how much could be altered, Tiffany ended up pulling another dress that was the perfect combination of everything I wanted. I honestly had not expected to find and buy a dress on my first shopping trip, but I was thrilled with the result and simply could not turn down the price of $500 for such a beautiful gown. I will likely be getting my dress altered somewhere else, as there are a few sub-par reviews about the in-house alterations, but I cannot speak to them myself. I was so impressed with the altar bridal consignment! Lacy helped me and she was a total gem! I originally went in by myself to scout the place out on a weekday because I wasn't really sure what I would find at a consignment store. Actually, FYI most of the dresses there are samples. I had actually been to 5 other stores before this and had found a bunch of pretty dresses, but not "the one." The inside of the store was decent (not as pretty as some places, but not bad)- similar to some of the places in Ktown in Los Angeles FYI. Anyway, Lacy was so helpful and enthusiastic, and made the whole experience so fun, even though I didn't bring anyone. Just thinking back to some of the other bridal boutiques I went to, I think I would've felt awkward shopping by myself. She also didn't try to sell me every dress and gave really helpful comments on the fit of dresses. This place is also really nice because they don't put a limit on how many dresses you can try on or how long you can stay (as there are no appts). I think I tried on 25 dresses (over 2 days) lol. I found my dress that day, but wanted to think about it for a while before I bought it. They can only hold a dress for you for 24 hours if you put down a $100 deposit. I thought about it for a couple days and went back that weekend with friends and bought my dress. My dress had a couple of loose beads and a couple of smudges/stains on it, and the altar bridal said they would clean it for me and tighten all the loose beading! This was a total contrast from the other place I went to, where their sample dresses (with comparable prices) had stains and some even had rips. At the other store, you had to buy the sample dresses as they were and get them cleaned and fixed yourself. Also, I just moved from LA and was looking to rent a dress in Colorado, since this is where my wedding will be. It seems like there aren't any stores that do wedding dress rentals here, but the altar bridal will take back your wedding dress and give you 50% back if/when someone else buys it! My wedding dress (and expected costs for alterations) would actually be cheaper than renting a dress even if it doesn't ever sell. All of the staff there were so friendly and helpful. A friend of mine and I went in to look around just to see what this whole consignment thing was all about. My wedding is not until Fall of 2014, so a dress was not on my priority list for now. As I was looking through some of these dresses, I thought "this is not going to be the place I buy my dress" BUT to my surprise, I found a beautiful couture wedding dress. It fit like a glove and I fell in love with it. Lili was so helpful and thanks to her, I decided on this dress. I did not have my mother or sisters w/ me as I would have wanted but there was no way I was going to pass this deal up. The dress is beautiful and it was a sample dress not used. I am anxious to go back to THE ALTAR to meet w/ the seamstress!! I loved that I was not rushed, I was helped when needed but other than that I was not having to bare it all in front of anyone other than my best friend. I had such an amazing experience here and I would definitely recommend THE ALTAR to any bride on a budget. I found a beautiful dress at a fraction of a fraction of the price I would have paid anywhere else. THANK YOU LILI! No pressure to buy, and when I asked about pricing flexibility she knocked it down 30% to get to the total I'd suggested (after tax). So happy and can't wait for my fiancé to see it! read more

The Altar has a HUGE variety of unique wedding gowns and accessories, and some gorgeous bridesmaids' gowns. I found an incredible, one-of-a-kind lace jacket with a long train for only $150, my mom found the Mori Lee gown of her dreams for $25, AND I got a Jenny Yoo gown for one of my bridesmaids, also for $25! I preferred the relaxed and friendly environment at The Altar, compared to that of the fancy shmancy overpriced shops that require appointments only and have cramped fitting rooms. The Altar had giant dressing rooms to play dress-up in! Their prices are great, AND the proceeds from bridesmaids gowns are donated to charity! read more

I think some of those early photos are at a different location. The current one is much larger but not very pretty, feels more like a consignment shop than a bridal shop. Unfortunately the dress selection is kind of hit or miss, the only dress I really liked was about 6 sizes too large with lots of beading, so it would have been a small fortune to alter to fit correctly, which kind of defeats the purpose of going to a consignment shop. I didn't find my dress here, but definitely worth a look if you're trying to find a reasonably priced dress. I would say the prices are similar to a David's bridal but you can get a much better quality dress here. It just depends if the dress you like is in your size. read more

Consigning my dress at The Altar was SUCH a pleasure! I brought my dress in about a month ago and received a little bonus check in the mail last week with a card letting me know that my dress had sold! My dress was an Amsale, Reese... very popular and originally very pricey, but I felt that Tiffany and I came to a perfect price point for consigning the dress at The Altar. When I saw how many gorgeous, designer-label dresses there were to choose from at The Altar, I left thinking how foolish I had been to purchase a brand new dress for my wedding.
