Looking for a fun girls brunch or night out? The only place in San Diego where you get to have fun with all the GIRLS! Bachelorette, birthdays, celebrations you name it. A meal, show, great music and beautiful women? Yes, yes and yas! These girls can dance and put on an amazing show. Not only are the performers are great, they are your service staff as well. Mind you the menu is alright, the vibes alone are great. Our server, Armani, was our favorite and the best dancer! Can't wait to come back again. Paris is such an amazing host. Loved all the outfit changes.

I'll say this - WE HAD A TIME! Such a fun and lively show and definitely recommend for a fun time. Was looking for a local drag brunch and Lips was it!Came to celebrate my cousin's birthday. it was her first ever drag brunch and girl, DID SHE HAVE a time! All 3 of my stars go to the lovely ladies of Lips as they served and SERVED! Be sure to get you dollars ready and tip them big because they put on a GREAT show. They are funny, entertaining, and CRASS, so if you can't handle a joke - don't come - it's not for you. What it did lack though was the food. The dishes were cold and my chicken fried steak was incredibly salty tha I just couldn't finish it. My cousin got the chicken and waffles and it was cold and the waffles were hard as rocks. Again, the food wasn't the most important, but not being edible was a little disappointing. The drinks included were okay and a bit watered down, but I do recommend buying some extra shots to get you going. Again, we really came for the show, but the food and drinks could use some improvement. But if you're just looking for a good time, definitely check out Lips!

Absolutely WOW New Year's Eve at Lips is EVERYTHING Lips completely nailed New Year's Eve! From the moment we walked in, the energy was electric fun, welcoming, and over-the-top in the best way. The performers were hilarious, insanely talented, and kept the crowd engaged all night long. It was a true celebration and the perfect way to ring in the new year. And the special NYE menu just WOW. The salmon Wellington was perfectly cooked, the oysters Rockefeller were rich and delicious, and the chicken cordon bleu was pure comfort done right. Incredible food paired with nonstop entertainment made the night unforgettable. Drinks were flowing, the vibe was festive, and the entire experience exceeded expectations. If you want an unforgettable New Year's Eve with amazing food and fabulous entertainment, Lips is the place.

This might be my new brunch spot! A large group of us came to celebrate our friends birthday and see the amazing show! All of the food was amazing and the free-flowing mimosas and bloody Mary's were icing on the cake Our servers Jordyn and Lolita were so kind and accommodating for our group, and were two of the stars of the show! This is such a fun experience and really takes you out of your shell

oh my God celebrating my grandma's 84th birthday here at Lips service is always fantastic. Girls came quickly. The food came faster than ever and the steak was actually delicious. Forgot to take pictures of everybody else's dish, but you got the $45 to do the shell and it comes with all you could bring Meza and bloody Mary's pretty good value for $45 and the ladies are rude. I love every second and lively everybody excited to be here.

My friends and I ( group is 12) came in this past weekend. It was the first time for everyone. Giving this establishment 3 stars because the food was gross!!!! Salad tasted sour, no one at my table ate it .. chicken strips has no flavor, cheeseballs were rancid tasting and chunky, etc... but I don't think they have a 5 star chef In the kitchen- I think they are just doing what they can! So I have to give them grace. On a more brighter note!!!! The performances are AMAZING!!!!!!!! 10/10 would highly recommend!!! Jokes are funny, wardrobe is beautiful!!! Athleticism was so shocking, The lady's are so friendly- it was a great experience!! My whole group loved it!! It was such a fun experience- I would do it again. ( just skip the food)

By far one of the coolest things that we did in San Diego on a recent bachelorette trip! Literally probably the peak of the celebration. I called about a month ahead to secure the group reservation for 10 people. We arrived arrived about 10-15 minutes before our 10:30 am showtime and ended up getting some really great seating right by the stage. Everything was so interactive and fun, the food was ever better than I expected. The drinks were stunning, we all got super drunk and just enjoyed life.

This year I finally got to experience my first Lips show and dinner plus brunch for my birthday. Both times were entertaining and they really do take care of you. The queens are fabulous and so talented. I wish I had their wide range of skills but thoroughly enjoyed the show! Especially when my friends got taken up on stage to strip and collect some tips hehe. I would also like to point out the food is delicious! My steak was great and cakes at the dinner and even though I was wayyy too hung over to eat my brunch, I was told by my friends that the food and bottomless drinks were perfect pairings. I will keep telling people to go!

I went to Lips in San Diego on a Sunday. The food itself was good--I ordered the steak and eggs and enjoyed it. Unfortunately, the service really fell short. After our food was dropped off, no one asked if we needed anything else. My friend wanted Tabasco and I wanted steak sauce, but the server put the plates down and walked away. Trying to get assistance after that was nearly impossible since the staff stayed busy. I ended up using ketchup, and my friend had to ask the table next to us for their Tabasco. They were great about keeping the mimosas coming, but not so great about refilling water, which was what I was drinking. For a place that's supposed to feel fun and inclusive, I honestly felt a bit out of place. They advertise unlimited drinks, but I don't drink alcohol. I still enjoy going out without drinking, but this just wasn't really my vibe. My friend does drink and mentioned the mimosas were pretty watered down anyway. The performers themselves were talented--great singing, dancing, and stage presence. However, there were moments where things felt a little unpolished. At one point a performer was late to come out during a song, and everyone was looking around confused. I also noticed what appeared to be a brief spat between two performers, which took away from the experience. I probably wouldn't have written this review if it weren't for the way the bill was handled at the end. When it was time to pay, an automatic tip was added to my card without any explanation. I had cash ready specifically to tip, but I wasn't given a receipt or a pen to write in a tip amount myself. There was also nothing communicated beforehand about an automatic gratuity, so it was very confusing and frustrating. It felt like the server tipped herself. Overall, the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It came across as a place that really wants you drinking so you'll spend more, and if you don't sign for a tip, one might just be added for you. The whole thing felt very scammy, which is disappointing because this place may have been great back in the day--but it just wasn't for me.

My girlfriends and I went to celebrate a birthday and it was a great time! They are constantly coming around making sure your drinks are topped off and the food was yummy. I got the chicken and waffles and it did not disappoint.

Their website said they're the #1 drag show in San Diego and I was like "sure, Jan". We had no reservation for 5 but they sat us anyways and everything was great. The drag queens are the servers, performers, lighting technicians and hosts. It was a fully immersive experience. Our mimosas and Bloody Marys never ran dry. The food was included with the price too, if you wanted steak and eggs it was a $3 up charge. I read some of the other reviews and they said the queens were obscene and crude and aggressive but honestly I didn't feel that, but that's what I expect from a drag queen. We had an amazing time. Only problem was the parking, it's very limited. If you can't find parking then it's street metered parking. All in all we would definitely go again.

Entertainment? 6 stars Service? 5 stars Ambiance? 5 stars Food? A questionable 3, but are you there for the food? Truly it's the sweet drinks and the even sweeter dolls that you're there for and that's what makes Lips amazing. My friends have been a few times, but I was glad to finally get the chance to go. We had a rough view with a pole in our way of the stage, but the queens dance perform everywhere and when I say perform, I mean PERFORM. Definitely one of the best drag shows I've been to.

Ask the Community - Lips

How long does the show last?

Hi darling, you can expect to be with us for two & a half hours. Can't wait to see you!

Is it okay for older kid like 12 or 13?

No, there is a lot of adult themes here and probably not appropriate for kids in general. There are other drag performances that are age appropriate.

How early should we arrive for the 6:30pm Friday show (2 guests)?

Maybe 15-30 minutes before. There will be a line.

Is the Sunday brunch 21+ only?

I believe it is.

Omg. Had the best time ever last week. Your lady gaga or (enigma?) was so great! I would like to book a party of Gaga fanatics to attend soon. My friends a super fan. Does she perform daily or is she on a schedule. Let me know!

What's the Covid policy if any in place?mask required? 6feet ?proof of vax???Thank you

As of two weeks ago when I visited, all performers/waitresses, bartenders and employees wore masks and or Face shield. Customers are asked to wear their mask as they come in but can take off to eat and drink. My party and myself felt completely safe.

Is it hot inside? (Temperature wise)

No just hot lips

Can dressy shorts be worn? Or is it a strict dress code?

They have a dress code clearly stated on their website, so don't wear shorts! Remember your ID too.

Can 15 year olds enter?

16+. Nobody younger and they do require and check ID’s.

Do you pay for the $10 cover fee before you come in, or at the end of the night with the dinner bill?

With the dinner bill! This is $10 per person as well

Do they let groups have separate checks yet? It'd make life SO MUCH better! 💄💋💄💋💄💋💄💋

4 credit cards and or Cash

Do you have to be 18?

16+ for regular shows, 21+ for taboo show

How long is a show?

About 90 minites

When having a group of 10 or more- do we HAVE to buy a meal off the pre-fixed menu or can we just buy drinks?

The show we went to there was a cover charge and minimum that needs to be spent. You should be good!!

Do I need a reservation?

Yes, it's a must!

How long does the Taboo show go for?

The TABOO Show lets out at about 1:50am.

Is it 18+?

No, there were 16 years olds with their parents. The Queens were inappropriately appropriate. We enjoyed the show.

I tend to keep it simple and order the same items every time. My go to is the crispy Brussels for $14 and the chicken sandwich for $16, and I usually rotate in the parmesan fries for $10. While they do offer other dishes that are worth trying, these favorites always keep me coming back. The service and ambiance are consistently great. It is located in Hillcrest, so the area is always lively, which adds to the overall experience. The energy, combined with the quality of the food, makes it a reliable choice whether I am dining with friends or hosting out of town guests. Parking can be a bit challenging, but that is typical for Hillcrest. I usually plan ahead and look for street parking nearby.

First time to either, and we asked the security gal, "Is there access to the show inside from the Tavern or do we need to walk back out & around the building?" Since security explained there's access from inside we went thru the metal detector and had my purse searched. There was no tables available in the first room, so we weaved towards the main room where the bigger bar's located. Luckily for us, we snagged some barstools. With 10 items to choose from the menu, why not have fried potatoes served two different ways?! I mean, you can't go wrong with deep fried food. We got the Garlic Parmesan Fries and Patatas Brava. We sat at one of the bar's corners, towards access to the show. The bartender on that end didn't acknowledge us. He served the couple next to us, who already had his attention. But, thankfully the other bartender that seemed to navigate the entire bar area, took or food & drink menu. Plenty of TV screens w/ all sorts of sports going on. More tables towards the front, standing area. Vibe was chill at the Tavern before our Small Town Murder (podcast show) began. We stuck to our Patron Palomas. They were stiff. There's a watering station near the man bar and three Unisex bathrooms below. If you wanted to walk upstairs, additional bathrooms up there.
