Our special day was 9/9/22. We had the pleasure of not only celebrating our day at an unbelievable venue with the people we love most but also were able to become part of the "exclusive" 9/9 anniversary club with owners Tricia and Marty. While attempting to locate the perfect venue for our wedding, we stumbled upon Lippincott Manor. Once we arrived, we started pointing out all of the pleasant small details that caught our eye later to find out that the owner, Marty, was the artist behind most of what you'll see. We loved that! The decor was exactly what we had hoped to find and the tent with retractable sides was perfect for anyone who still had reservations about being in an enclosed space with a large group due to Covid. We saw it as a win win! Tricia was the second half of the one two punch that would seal the deal and have us walking away talking about how "perfect" the venue & owners were the entire 2 hour ride back home. Questions were answered by them that we never would've even thought to ask. The level of professionalism and conciseness was impeccable. They both made what anyone planning a wedding would know to be a stressful time as pleasant and easy as possible. The communication was fantastic. Tricia clearly doubles as a wedding planner and thank God for that because she kept everything in order and on schedule. We wouldn't have had a successful wedding day without her! So now our big day arrives and the network of bakers, DJ's and photographers Lippincott utilizes meshed together as seamless as we had hoped. The fact that they work together so often made the night go smoothly and freed us up to enjoy time with our family & guests. The all inclusive package is the way to go! We danced all night long all the while catching glimpses of our newest friends Tricia and Marty smiling and clearly enjoying seeing everyone just as happy as we were. If you are LGBTQ+ or on the left side of politics - don't have your wedding here. We originally decided on this venue because we were looking for something upstate with a rustic vibe, close to NYC and within our budget. This was one of the only venues that fit our requirements. Owners Marty and Tricia seemed nice enough and assured us they had had gay weddings there before. We wanted an all-vegetarian menu and they worked with us to make it happen -- it was absolutely delicious! We also asked to bring our own beer in addition to the ones they offer (the just have the basics like Bud Light and Stella) and bring our own rakia, which is a traditional alcohol in my culture. So they were very flexible about that. Tricia was the only person I communicated with throughout all the planning and she was always very prompt, sweet and willing to work with us - super on top of it. Giving credit where it's due. HOWEVER. We had gone to the venue in early November 2020 for a second visit and there was a massive Trump 2020 flag by their house (which is next to the venue). That left a very bad taste in our mouth because we are NOT Trump supporters and we definitely don't want anything political anywhere near our wedding venue. But it was outside of wedding season so we figured hopefully it won't be there for our wedding. The flag indeed wasn't there for our wedding but when we arrived for wedding rehearsal the night before, we were greeted by a big Blue Lives Matter flag painted on the barn next to the reception tent -- that structure is the first thing you see when you drive onto the property. It was SO disappointing. This does not align at all with our values, nor with the values of our guests. On the day of the wedding, things went relatively smoothly from our perspective, though the staff that served the food did not smile at all and we noticed them staring at us like they had never seen queer people before -- it was a bit uncomfortable. We later found out from our guests that that was not necessarily their experience. We had asked the venue if we can temporarily label the bathrooms to be for all genders, but Tricia refused. Since we had trans and nonbinary guests at our wedding and we wanted them to feel comfortable (and gender is a social construct anyway), we told our guests to ignore the signs and use the bathrooms they are most comfortable in. One of our friends who is a woman was washing her hands in the "men's" bathroom and Marty went in there to tell her she is in the wrong bathroom. The beer we brought is made by our friend (who was also our DJ) and is called "Dyke Beer" which is a staple in the local queer community. When guests ordered it, Marty would make comments like "how can you drink that? it's disgusting, I'd never drink it". And multiple people told us that the cocktails were VERY watered down. We paid for top shelf full bar. When our friends found out how disappointed we were with the pro-cop flag, they surprised us with a big banner that covered it, saying "Welcome to Terry and Lilia's wedding" which doubled as a guest book. It was temporarily taped to the barn and could easily be taken off later. Our friends saw Marty tear it down, crumple it and throw it in the garbage. They confronted him about it and he said he was "very mad" at us for defacing his property. A temporary sign isn't really defacing and I'd argue that he defaced the American flag. The venue is beautiful but these are just not our people. read more

We had our daughter's wedding at Lippincott Manor in Wallkill, NY and we couldn't have been happier with the venue and staff there! The grounds are just gorgeous and we were looking forward to taking some awesome outdoor pictures. Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other ideas which prohibited our outdoor activities but Trish & Marty had us covered, literally, as party was transformed to be strictly indoors. Very impressed with the alternative arrangements and everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! After visiting several potential Hudson Valley event locations, I must say that Lippincott Manor is a true "value venue" where you get a lot for the money. This, together with interacting with such an accommodating couple like Trish & Marty, we are incredibly pleased with our selection and highly recommend that this venue be on the short list of event possibilities! read more

Tricia and Marty were nothing short of wonderful from our first tour until our wedding day. Tricia always answered any emails and questions promptly. I work full time and have a toddler so the fact that they pretty much take care of everything on site, and what they don't they make sure you do, was a huge weight off my shoulders. The all inclusive options they give are fantastic. We loved all of our vendors. The decor throughout the venue is so adorable. Every time we went there it put a smile on my face. We were able to use their linens, napkins, table numbers and place card holders. Food was delicious! Huge assortment of appetizers during cocktail hour and the buffet style dinner was a huge hit. We got so many compliments on it! Staff was lovely. Grounds are gorgeous. It was overall such a beautiful experience and all within our budget. they were even amazing enough to give us some add ons when we came in under the minimum. We just hosted our daughter's wedding here this past weekend and couldn't have had a more perfect day! Marty and Tricia were so wonderful helping us plan the wedding and made sure all we had to do that day was show up and have a great time. They take care of everything for you! All of our guests have been raving about the wedding and everyone had a blast! The venue is elegant, classy, romantic, relaxed, and spacious with gorgeous views and delicious food and drinks. My wife and I decided to go with Lippincott for our wedding back in May of 2016. We started searching for a venue in the summer of 2014, by the time we visited Lippincott in the late summer, after seeing several venues we knew instantly Lippincott was going to be our venue! After driving up the long driveway we were greater by Tricia and Marty whom were so warm and welcoming. Every stop of the process for the next two years, they never questioned us, scolded or scoffed us for suggesting an idea! A bonus too for booking early, we were locked into their 2014 prices even though we got married in 2016! Every guest we spoke too had nothing but positives for Lippincott and all their staff! This venue is absolutely adorable. If you're going for a more intimate rustic affair this is definitely your place. It is definitely a budget venue the price is unbeatable. Trish and marty are the owners and have created this little hidden love haven. Super cute. She does an awesome job at executing your dream. She put all my decor out exactly as I asked without a question asked since I had so many homemade decor items. Although I loved the venue and my day was a success there are some things I didn't like. Overall it was good but it could be better. 1. Marty and Trish were doing a "tasting event " every year when I first booked. They cancelled it after I booked due to the increased audience they attracted. So yea I didn't get to try and of the wedding food before hand. Food was good but really cold by the time you walked to the table with it. Also I paid for prime rib and everyone told me it was roast beef not prime rib. I didn't eat it so I don't know. 2. I booked my wedding two years out and made all my decor including my centerpieces which consisted of candles. A year out she messaged everyone an "updated" tip list. Which didn't allow candles I figured it didn't relate to me because I signed a contract but it did. So about a month before the wedding as I was confirming the decor she told me it wasn't allowed. She was kind enough to meet me in the middle and take off the price of the s'mores for our campfire since it was an added expense and broke contract. Due to the weather the day of the wedding the campfire was cancelled. So the compensated s'mores were compensated for nothing. When asked about refund was told that an extra platter of shrimp was put out( that wasn't asked for) to make up for it. Nice gesture but still not what I asked for. But She was kind enough to give us a complimentary apple cider stand since I had ten no shows. 3. When we were getting ready for our ceremony we asked for a drink to calm our nerves and was told by the friends who went to get our drinks that Trish said they don't serve drinks before ceremony and asked if we ate anything? She did end up giving the drinks but I was annoyed that this was even an issue. We are adults. 4. From guests complaints I was told that when they ordered a double vodka and sprite the bartender said, "no sorry we'll run out of vodka" mind you I paid for an open bar. As well as bar service being extremely slow(there was a long line always waiting for drinks) 5. Another guest complaint, When guests went up for food(it's buffet style) if they asked for more raviolis or mashed potatoes they were told no because they need to save room for other food choices. 6. Lastly at ten min to 10:00pm when they end the reception( due to it being residential area it had to be over at ten) Trish was yelling at staff to "wrap it up its ten min to ten" I was told this by another guest at my wedding. Like I said the wedding was a success and they did a good job. But these things were definitely bothersome. read more

Went to a wedding at the beginning of October. I was not impressed with the food, cocktail hour. The cocktail hour food seemed like it was taken out of a box and thrown in the oven. The passed around food was cold. The dinner food was not very impressive and when the couple cut the cake it was not even passed around to the wedding guests. You had to help yourself. This review was written immediately after my experience in August, 2015. Not wanting to hurt the family who paid for the wedding I waited a year to post it. That shouldn't matter. It was my experience. Here it is unedited. My experience with this venue was as a guest at a wedding. Some things to keep in mind - no wedding guest is going to tell the bride and groom, or their families that things were bad. Also - if the bride & groom and their families are Christians, or even just very gentle people - it is unlikely they will mention anything either. As far as writing reviews, they will in all likelihood not write one at all rather than write a bad one. That is the case with the event my family attended. I myself was hesitant to write a review. I decided to though after reading reviews by other people about this place on WeddingWire who experienced what we did. During what would have been the "cocktail hour" at a wedding where alcohol was served, servers made their way around with hors d'oeuvres. They were pretty bad. The spring rolls were greasy. The mini quiche were stone cold. The shrimp cocktail was good. The weirdness began when we went to try the other appetizers which were served buffet style. We helped ourselves to fruit, cheese and crackers. On another table was a tray each of ziti, meatballs and stuffed mushrooms. Behind the table was a man on a stool that looked like a farmhand. He was an expressionless fellow in his '60's who neither smiled nor made conversation. He looked as though he walked in off the street. Since the spoons were on his side I assumed he was the server. In reality - he was the "Portioner". And a darned good portioner at that! His goal seemed to be to make sure that the food in front of him lasted for the next three weddings. It was amusing to see the faces of the people getting exactly two stuffed mushrooms each. That may sound like a lot when you picture what a stuffed mushroom should be. These were each about the size of a dime, however. That said, they were the only great food served that evening. I didn't have the ziti but the meatballs were cold and as hard as rocks. As observed by others who had weddings here and detailed in their reviews on the website previously mentioned, the female in charge (I don't know if she was an owner or the manager) got snippy and rude during an exchange with the MC. Later in the evening I overheard rude comments made by the servers that I thought were going to cause confrontations with some of the guests they were directed towards. Another wedding site reviewer mentioned that the owners weren't dressed in proper attire for a wedding. Could the "Portioner" have been an owner? The main meal was served buffet style. When our table was called up to get our food we once again beheld the portioning farmhand. This time though there was a line of servers doling out tiny dollops of food. The portioning farmhand gave us each a single slice of beef as thin as you'd want it sliced at a deli. The next server offered rice. Her spoon was encrusted with sticking rice so deep that she could barely scoop any more up to serve. I would estimate that we got about two tablespoons of that. Next was a single tablespoon of mashed potatoes followed by a tiny portion of mixed vegetables, a slice of a whole portion of a stuffed chicken breast, a slice of a whole portion of stuffed fish and a few tablespoons of some type of pasta. It turned out that the small portions were blessing. All the food seemed as though it had been sitting for a very long time. The beef was good. The rice was a congealed mass. There wasn't enough potatoes to tell how they were. The vegetables were beyond overcooked. The pasta was downright nasty. The chicken was a factory stuffed and frozen item that was overcooked 3 times over. Dry as kindling. The fish tasted like a dirty aquarium smells and that too seemed to be a factory stuffed and frozen item. My wife summed it up in five words - Worse Than Bad Hospital Food. After writing this review I noticed on their website that they trumpet that their food is prepared by graduates of the Culinary Institute of America. Those who live outside the Hudson Valley should not be misled by that. The CIA is a trade school with graduations and internships happening every quarter. Stop into any diner in this area and your "chef" will be a CIA graduate. There are a glut of them in the Hudson Valley and not all of them were A students. When looking for reviews on wedding websites make sure you scroll through ALL of the reviews. Brides...keep in mind that your guests will only tell you everything was wonderful. No one will tell you the food sucked or that the servers were rude. They will want you to think they had the time of their life. read more

Amazing place to get married at.. They have amazing views, great food and the ceremony area is absolutely beautiful, unfortunately, the weather controls the day, but the owners create the best of a terrible situation, because planning a wedding you cannot control the weather. This is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding to feel like you are, actually, outside enjoying the natural weather and beauty, but if weather doesn't permit you are covered from it.. My husband and I are, truly, thankful for the Lippincott owners and staff for all that they have done for us!!! They made our day the best of a terrible, unexpected, weather situation!! I wanted a beautiful wedding outside and not trapped inside of some place that I didn't feel like was special and I didn't want a church wedding. What I wanted was an outdoor wedding and my parents refused to let me have a backyard wedding because that would be "tacky". Not many venues let you access outdoors after ceremony and/or have coverage for those who don't like the sun. Lippincott went above and beyond for us... It was pouring rain on our wedding day and Tricia advised me that everything would still be great and that rain on your wedding day is a good sign and we still had a possibility of having an outdoor ceremony because Marty was watching the weather... She was right... The rain stopped a few hours before our planned wedding and they made sure everything was ready for my dream outdoor ceremony, yeah I am sure outdoor seating might have been damp but it was raining for hours before we got married, not one complaint from our family.. I'm sure if my day didn't turn out well and it poured the whole day many would complain about it, but WE took the chance and WE knew the risks, but it was what WE wanted, they were there to celebrate US... To see 2 bad reviews of this venue mainly based on the weather, it breaks my heart, because they are truly amazing!! Summer you deal with heatwaves and October you cannot even predict if it will be hot or cold, so blame your hosts not the staff for the weather, because if it was a beautiful day there would be zero complaints.The food was amazing just like the staff!! Our wedding day was every bit as magical as I dreamed it would be with special thanks to Tricia and Marty at Lippincott Manor! They were warm and welcoming from our very first email and helped to make every detail perfect from the sweet tea stand to the Venetian dessert table and bonfire. The venue itself is absolutely stunning, and it's clear that Tricia and Marty put so much time and love into taking excellent care of it. They are always updating and adding new special touches to maintain the scenic, rustic uniqueness that Lippincott Manor offers. Many of our guests shared with us that they felt our wedding was the most detailed yet relaxed wedding they have attended, not to mention the food was delicious, and we had a double rainbow appear after a quick, light summer shower! What a wonderful wedding venue. My daughters reception was there 3 days ago and everything was perfect!!!

After looking for a picturesque natural setting that could accommadate their desire to have customized wedding that didn't break the budget my daughter and son in law selected Lippincott Manor. The hosts Tricia and Marty were so welcoming to them and offered a customizable package that was perfect. We had alot of elements that they allowed us to bring, assorted lawn games and decor which helped personalize the experience. The staff was attentive and welcoming to all the guests and we had an amazing experience. From initial meeting to the pack up we felt that they genuinely were delighted to make the wedding a joyful experience for us all. We were welcomed. We had a buffet wedding with cocktail hour and a taco station set up as an add on. We also had a bon fire and beer and wine. The location and setting was most important and the welcoming hosts especially and options to include what we wanted exceeded our expectations. read more

My experience here was not great, went as a Wedding Guest. First complaint went for a drink and they said no had to wait for the actual ceremony first, okay fine drank the water that was on table instead. Cocktail Buffet was so ..so not many food choices and pretty cheap with the portions and really not good. Now lets get to the main entree, its buffet also, they had some shrimp ravioli mash potatoes and prime rib they gave me a very thin tiny slice of beef and I asked for another piece and the man just rolled his eyes at me and gave me another tiny piece and was rude about it. The serves looked sloppy and unprofessional, the man served from a bench and had the attitude of just not wanting to be there. It was a rainy day we finally leave there are no lights in the parking area where the grass is, no one to direct where to go. Shoes and car full of Mud and cars had to be pushed out and tow trucks called cause cars were stuck in the mud. Another note, its a big property sad to say only a few hanging baskets of flowers , no pretty landscaping etc I understand everyone cant afford a lavish wedding but this place is awful do your self and your guest a favor and look else where. read more
