This Lion's Choice never disappoints. Whenever I am in Edwardsville shopping, or running errands and it's time for lunch, I head to Lion's Choice. Lion's Choice may be considered a fast-food restaurant, but your sandwich is made fresh. If you order inside at the counter, you can see them slicing your roast beef. My go to cheese is my favorite cheese, Pepper Jack. The seasoning they use and the Pepper Jack makes it a perfect sandwich to me. When anyone ask me, which fast food place has the best french fries, I always respond, Lion's Choice. Their fries still have the skins on, are fried crisp and just lightly salted. The kitchen is always clean from the counter view and the dining room is well maintained as well. The cashiers are friendly and provide excellent customer service. If you like Roast Beef sandwiches with or without cheese, I highly recommend you go and enjoy one at Lion's Choice. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. read more

LC is a good addition to Edw/GC fast-food options. For the uninitiated, think of Arby's (sort of like I first knew it in the 70s). In addition to fine roast-beef sandwiches, you can have gluten-free fries (no wheat/barley/rye flour in that oil) salads. A decent dessert option is the orange freeze. We've done drive-through, ordered through the LC app, and through Door Dash (which had a few hiccups, so maybe use the LC app). Order accuracy and service is hit or miss, unfortunately. Lion's Choice and Arby's are both places I could take or leave. It could be a decent, crappy or average experience. I still don't get the whole hype behind Lion's Choice - I mean, I get that it is local and for some people it's a great alternative to Arby's or whatever. But, the experience is usually average for me. Lion's Choice is overpriced in my opinion. Luckily, I didn't come in there hungry and I was actually full from eating the Large Combo for exactly $10. Maybe if it were like, $7 or $8, if you know what I mean. I didn't like the cheese I got with the fries. Just didn't taste well. And the amount of cheese that I got in their medium-sized cup looked like a bigger portion of cheese than the fries! Sandwich was dry, no taste. And it was small for what it was. Of course I'm not going to ask all the teens/college kids behind the counter that probably can't clarify. Yes, I did have the horseradish sauce and I didn't bother with the fixin's bar because it looked like that stuff was sitting out for hours. I remember working at SnS next door for several years, when Lion's Choice was at the building currently occupied by Pizza Hut. I remember when I would go by there several times, not seeing hardly any cars there or in the drive-thru. Often I wondered, "how in the world do these guys stay in business?". My sis would always call it "Last Chance". Lion's Choice finally closed about 15 years ago and so I was very surprised that there was a new "demand" for it now. I know Edwardsville has changed in the last 15 years, as do times and people's eating out habits. Point is, I'm sure everything will die down for Lion's Choice sooner than we think. I must have popped in on an off day because our sandwiches were not worth the price we paid for them at all. My first experience was a lot better! My Au jus tasted like water and the meat didn't have much flavor either. The French fries were fantastic and so was the coleslaw! I love lions choice but this location is not clean. Tables weren't wiped off. Floor is not swept. Restrooms need attention too.

The usual great roast beef sandwiches in a fun looking building. The new format building is much nicer looking than the usual cookie-cutter box-style chain restaurants build. I question the wisdom of having a parking lot with only one way in and out that also serves the drive-thru. I can see this being an issue especially if drivers are waiting in line and pull in to wide and block traffic. They need more napkin holders as only one was available the day I was there. read more

This is a bad Lion's Choice. I've been there about five times and every single time, the fries are half raw and limp. Fry the dang fries until they are done, for crying out loud. Perfectly cooked Lion's Choice fries are some of the best, but this store can't execute them. read more

They are consistent ....but in a bad way. Best Roast Beef sandwiches in the fast food industry by far, but, out of the last eight drive-thru visits, EVERY SINGLE ORDER WAS WRONG! Usually it is simply forgetting to include the horesradish mayo, wrong drink, wrong size roast beef, nearly frozen fries, including someone else's food, ringing it wrong, not listening to rewards number at checkout because they stop listening when you hand them the card, but sometimes it is failing to include sour cream and chives or missing an entire roast beef sandwich, or the desert , items that you paid for. Once you are home, you just have to write it off...... who is going to interrupt their meal (getting cold) for a five minute drive and ten minutes in line? read more

I have been to this Lions Choice many times and each time I say I will not return. I don't know what they do to the beef but it is not like other Lions Choice. Today I visited and the roast beef was the worst yet. Very dry and tough. This store always overcooks the meat. It is never pink the way roast beef should be cooked. I have been to other Lions Choice in St. Louis area and their meat is pink and flavorful. I have no problem with the service. All workers seem very nice and helpful. I just don't think we will return for some time until they learn how to cook beef. read more

Have eaten at this location two dozen times. Keep returning because Lions Choice has been a favorite for more than 40 years. However, this location is not up to the same standard as other locations. The food is often only warm at best, not hot. And the staff are not very accommodating. read more

Came by for lunch and was impressed with a new building and was promptly greeted. We ordered 2 $5 lunch specials and 2 bowls of chili. The chili had a great taste but was very pricey at $3.99 a bowl. The meat roast beef meals was tough and tHe French fries were extremely cold. Overall, I think Arby's offers superior food and product in comparison. read more

Service was on point. Got our food within 5 minutes of pulling into the drive-thru. Unfortunately the food was cold, not so good and some of the items were wrong. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and a vanilla shake. The " shake " I received appeared to be ice cream in a cup that I could not suck through a straw. I told the young lady at the window (Hally?) that it was not a shake and ask for a Rootbeer. A person identified as a manager met me at the window and stated I had received a shake. I think what she (Manager) was trying to say (she was mad and abrupt that I questioned the shake) that I received Lions Choice's version of a shake and that they had a machine dedicated to shakes it. I would have suggested that she check the settings on the machine as I received solid ice cream. However, I was not going to try and have intelligent conversation with a manager who in my opinion was already mad. Went to this place a few days ago and ordered a LARGE concrete shake. Got it and it looked like a small if not mini. Their serving sizes are absolutely horrendous, the only options is a mini or large and 4$ for a large was a 6 oz size shake. I will never go back read more

We have been patiently waiting for this location to open. We normally wait a while before trying out a new restaurant, but we went today, on their second day. The food was wonderful and the service was great! The manager introduced herself to us and everyone was very friendly. This is my favorite fast food restaurant!
