If you want a good Burger or Hot Dog, you should head to, Burger Bar. My favorite is the Jalapeño Crunch Burger, but my last visit I tried the, Atomic Burger. The Atomic has a habanero aioli, Pepper Jack cheese and grilled Hot Giardiniera Peppers on a toasted jumbo English Muffin. The burger was smashed perfectly and the English Muffin was a nice twist and change from a typical bun. Since I changed up my burger, I thought I might as well change my side, too. Instead of the typical fries, I ordered their Tater Tots. Wow, the Tots really hit the spot and they may be my go to in the future. I like their variety of bottled beers and I always change that up, so I can check in on my Untappd app. I've never been disappointed in the service. The servers are attentive, friendly and they really hustle when it gets busy. read more

Nothing about this place screams you should eat here but the food was GREAT! The burger was cooked perfectly and super flavorful. The fries were crispy and delicious. The server wasn't the friendliest but that's really my only complaint nothing wrong with just being there to make your money I guess. I enjoyed the music they had on in the background as well. The park service ranger at the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site recommended this place as I was passing through and it's a gem! Lots of interesting options for burgers as well as a local (?) variation called a "horseshoe," which was described by my server as an open face burger with lots of different toppings. I stuck with the "So Gouda," which had a flavorful combination of Gouda cheese , bacon and caramelized onions. The fries were epic. I'd definitely stop in if I'm in the area again. Don't be put off by Wood River's downtown that's bereft of businesses - this place deserves your support. Plus they have an awesome hallway dedicated to rock greats. Went in with a group. Never been here before. Appetizers were good. I had the Horseshoe, which was fair. The standout was the Mac & cheese dog my son had and the Mac and cheese burger my other son had. Both were outstanding. My wife had the Gouda Grilled Cheese which she also liked. We ordered from here for the first time tonight and it saddens me to say this because I'm all for supporting local and small businesses but it was not good at all. We had the mushroom Swiss burger and the 3 cheese grilled cheese. The prices were fair but the food was lackluster. The burger was extremely greasy. The grilled cheese was okay but the fries were bland and not cooked all the way through in some places. I'm disappointed because when I read the reviews they were all positive. Maybe it was what we ordered or maybe it was the person cooking the food tonight but it was awful and we will not be ordering from here again. read more

This place was soooo good. I didn't eat in person, but it appeared on DoorFadh one day and man those burgers looked great. And I've gotta say, it's as good as it looks. The bourbon burger was saucy and sweet and I know I'll be getting it again. I also got to try a backyard dog, and i swear there's nothing better than potato salad and baked beans on a Hot Dog haha. The lobster Rangoon unfortunately wasn't my favorite, but it was still pretty good. Like I said, we had delivery, but everything was packaged up nicely, and we were happy with it. I was happy to see that not only did they have multiple vegan entrees in addition to the usual burgers, dogs, salads, and wings, but they had sides, appetizers, and even condiments that were vegan (vegan ranch, vegan chili, breaded portobello, etc.).
