I had barely pulled into my parking space and a young lady was already at my drivers side window. I told her it was first time and she said she'd give me a moment and comeback. After she returned inside, I got out of my RAV4 to read the menu better. After reading, I just went ahead and ordered at the counter. I just did a single cheeseburger, crinkle fries and a medium Root Beer. Big bonus, they make their own Root Beer. If you're not into RB, Charlie's a Pepsi diner. They also have fresh lemonade. Once I ordered, I took a seat at one of the many picnic tables with my glass of Root Beer. As I waited, the place filled up with picnic table diners and several eating in their cars. I shared my PT with a mother and daughter, so be prepared for communal dining. I ordered my burger with no tomato and a huge slice of tomato was on my burger. It was easy to remove, but I will say I was impressed at the thick cut. If someone likes tomatoes, they would have been thrilled. My burger was a decent size and the bun was super fresh. They were not stingy with the pickles and onions, so it added flavor, to the bland beef. Yep, I was not impressed with the ground beef used to make the burger. Ground Beef just is tasting different these days. The fries were the fattest crinkle fries I have ever seen. They were fried super crispy and had minimal salt, so they were perfect to me. The service was good, but not friendly like I would have expected at a mom and pop business. They're still new, so I'll give them a break and hope they warm-up as time passes. Don't get carried away drinking their homemade Root Beer, because there are no public restrooms.

I got a giggle from their ketchup bottle, it said it was "Fancy". They have an impressive variety of beers. They offer draft, bottle and canned. I personally always go with one of the many craft beers they have on the menu. When dining alone, I always sit at the bar. The bartenders are typically female and are friendly. I am fan of hooks under a bar and Pump House takes it even a step further. They also offer, outlets. If your phone needs a charge and you've got a cord, you are set to go. Offering outlets under a bar, is top notch customer service. Now that I know they have great burgers as well as their wings, I'll have to rotate between the two when coming to dine.

Typically I am not a white bread person, but the two slices that came with my meal were soft and fresh. I was able to make a small sandwich with leftovers from the large steak, for lunch the next day. It's a small operation, you place your order at one window and when your number is called, you pick it up at the next one. Everything is, "outside" hence the name of the business. I always get mine to-go, but there's plenty of outside seating available. If you dine on their patio, they've go great music playing. The kind you'd play at your very own backyard party. The service is exactly what you'd expect from a local mom & pop type business. It is personable and just downright friendly. It's also a black owned business. So get out and support a minority and locally owned business.
