I'm doing another review because I got a response from this business that I feel I need to respond to. I would have left my first review to suffice but because the business felt the need to respond in such a devious and misleading way, I felt the need to do another review. Be warned anyone doing business with them.
I did an original review because of the unprofessional manner in which the owner spoke to me. As a response, his son, yes apologized for his father, but only after stating his father had not been feeling well, being out $800 in moving expenses (we were told they were $580 of which we paid in full), and he accused me of bringing "my elderly father into the store and berating him to the point of tears," and stating "after everything we did to correct your father's mistake, it blows my mind that you wouldn't forgive my father's mistake." Now, it is personal and I do not appreciate being told I did this heinous thing to my dad, let alone posting such a thing for others to see and believe. I did no such thing.
I was racking my brain over what I could have said to make them say I had done this to my dad. I even asked my dad if he felt I had done this to him. He stated he did not and that "you were trying to help," and "he was glad to be out of that deal."
I responded to the son's statements by saying it had nothing to do with me "forgiving" his father for his mistake. It had to do with him owning a business and being completely rude. Because he is the business, there is a certain standard one should have in talking with customers, especially those that are not being rude to them but obviously confused over a situation. And as for them "correcting" my father's mistake, it was undoing a bad business deal and they were paid everything monetarily due to them up front.
The deal being: my dad turned in 2 pianos, one of which was a baby grand and another not so great "52 in Palentino. He received money for trading them in and then still owed almost $4000 on a 1983 Yamaha upright costing an original almost $8000. This piano was never in any world worth that. My dad is of sound mind and knew he was signing a contract for that much money so I don't think Milano's did anything illegal or deceitful but they sure knew they weren't giving him a good deal. This is just not good business practice and I felt they took advantage of my dad's impulsive decision to buy a piano.
We paid the moving fees and got one piano back. I called the day they brought it back confused as to why the 2 weren't delivered and was met with utter rudeness. We still haven't received the second piano back even though the moving charges have been paid and the used piano purchased was returned. read more
