I've been through the drive through a couple of times now. Usually there isn't much of a line during the week, mostly on the weekends. They don't have an overly extensive menu which I like. They are prompt to take your order and have the food ready fairly quickly. It tastes fresh and definitely satisfies my taste for Asian food. I like how they have a combination of Chinese and Japanese to choose from. I love their steamed dumplings, topped with the chili oil they give on the side tastes like fresh dim sum. Crab rangoons are crispy and full of cream cheese on the inside. I love the combination lo neon and the yaki udon. Im glad they have this place close by so I can satisfy my cravings. I ordered take-out over the weekend. As someone who has tried their buffets and repeatedly been disappointed, I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised by the overall quality of their food as well as the flavors. I ordered the egg drop soup and the Hunan Shrimp. I placed the order over the internet using my iPhone. When I arrived to pick up my order it was waiting for me. The order was 100% accurate. When I got home, I noted everything was still hot. The egg drop soup was very tasty and included peas and carrots. The peas were a little under cooked but the carrots were just right. The Hunan Shrimp was very tasty. Although spicy, not so spicy that it overwhelmed the terrific flavor. The dish included a great variety of vegetables, including mushrooms, carrots, broccoli, and others. My only complaint is the shrimp, which were otherwise cooked perfectly, had the tails left on. Just my preference, when eating a meal which requires a fork, I not have to stick my fingers into the dish to remove the tails and get sauce all over my fingers. Feel free to laugh, just my preference. The meal was also accompanied by a small egg roll and two crab rangoon. The egg roll was so-so but the rangoon very tasty. A very strong experience. The actual Lins location on Shaenfield is a lot better as it's a full blown buffet. However this place isn't too bad either. Just more expensive than the buffet in my opinion. I will say that they give you a huge serving for the price. For a couple I think one order of lo mein would be more than enough. This place has gone downhill..it used to be great. Prices were decent and you got a lot of food...now you no longer even get an egg roll with your entree thats $15 and in smaller containers. Today I ordered a meal and asked for steam rice and I got fried...i.also ordered a side of fried rice...the rice was nothing but rice and soy sauce..there was no peas, carrots or even egg..I could have made that at home and saved $5... and the drive through is a joke..if you order ahead you may as well go inside and pick up..if someone in front of you is making an order, they don't make them pull out of the drive through to service the cars behind. I sat for 15 minutes one time. There is a Thai place opening across the street and I hope they have better food and service. The owner is Racist to people with a darker skin color. He has said racist things to the employees about customers that come in. He also just stares and waits for them to leave and proceeds to says "no good". He has made me extremely uncomfortable with what he would say about people that I never want to repeat.He yells at his employees in front of customers making the worker and customers uncomfortable. He also makes the high school girls that work there uncomfortable. He makes comments on the workers body's for example, he says the girls with the big boobs ( she's in high-school). He knows his employees names ( and how old they are) but never calls them by their names. It's always girl or you, they are expected to answer. I've also witnessed him touching the girls on the lower back, and being very inappropriate with them. They have asked him to stop touching them and he continued to do so, making them extremely uncomfortable. When small mistakes are made he yells and calls the employees stupid, crazy or lazy ( none of which are true). He makes sure the person he is talking about never hears him say it, He only says it to whoever else is working and laughs, Thinking it's funny. When issues are brought up he ignores them and blames it on the manager (she has done everything he asked of her, even when she was not comfortable doing so). He also makes sure the employees knew he's the owner and whatever he says goes, even if it wrong. He would only say that when the workers would try to tell him what he was trying to do was wrong. There's roaches in the restaurant. The food is left out all day. There's raw meat sitting in sinks in the back. Lin's is open 11.5 hours. The meat is out most of the day if not all day. The sinks are not washed before or after. When the servers are with customers and the customers start talking and make conversation, the workers get yelled at for talking to them. They are told not to do that. But he wants the Customers to come back. How are we as workers supposed to do that and make a friendly and welcoming environment when we are not allowed to talk to them. As a former employee i highly doubt not recommend eating here. EVER!. read more

The fried rice is flavorless and has nothing else in it and the orange chicken has chewy weird parts

We dined in for lunch and amazed of the quantity and quality of the our meal. We had the dumplings egg rolls and recommend both of them. Our entrees consisted of the beef and mushroom and Mongolian beef, the portions were large and took the rest home for dinner. Followed Covid mandated mask by all employees. The staff were friendly and polite. We will definitely return soon to experience more authentic Chinese cuisine. read more

Not bad at all. The orange chicken was tasty. The General Tso's chicken was ok, but not great. In my opinion, the batter-to-chicken ratio was too high in the batter direction. I prefer much more chicken. Some bites contained only batter, it seemed. That being said, the meal was still tasty. And the orange chicken had plenty of chicken. Learned today that my weekly entree no longer comes with the egg roll and rangoons and the fried rice isn't fried, it's just white rice tossed with some soy sauce. So SAD. What was a 4 star has dropped to two star. What distinguished this restaurant from its competition now just makes it ordinary and typical unsatisfactory meals found in AR. Nope. If I could leave a one word rating that would be it. I was hungry and I'm the area so I decided to try this place. I've seen another location and as I'd never been I figured this was a good opportunity to try something new. This rating is solely based on the food as I did not venture inside (drive-thru order). I ordered the Chicken Hot & Sour lunch special which came with "fried rice", egg roll and egg drop soup. The egg drop soup was hot (only good thing about it). It had zero flavor. That in itself is pretty amazing. The "fried rice" was nothing more than white rice sprinkled with soy sauce and a couple of carrot and peas thrown in. I'm tired of Chinese places passing this crap as fried rice. The Hot & Sour chicken was worse. The chicken was battered and fried and sauce served on the side. Guessing this allows them to use the chicken for hot/sour, lemon, or orange chicken. Lazy! The sauce flavor was over powered by vinegar. Do yourself a flavor and go somewhere else. If you are the manager here, please take this review as a way to help your restaurant. The young man who helped us today was fantastic and super friendly. But the food.....ugh. It really lacks any culinary skill or flavor. Are you guys using too much prepared foods? We ordered spring rolls, fried wontons, orange chicken and lemon chicken. The orange chicken was tough and hard to eat. I had to request a knife to cut the pieces in half. The sauce was ok, but it seems like it came from a jar or can. Forgive me if I'm wrong there. The orange slices on the dish was a nice addition. I ordered the noodles (I forget what those are called) instead of the rice. They needed more veggies and flavor. My daughter had the lemon chicken. The chicken was good and the portion was enormous. The lemon sauce ruined the dish. Any sweet and lemony flavor was overtaken by a vinegar flavor. Was in the area decided to try something new. Upon walk in we saw a table that had several full plates but no people at the table. To me this seemed like they didn't like their food and took off. That wasn't a good sign. I ordered miso soup, lemon chicken (which came with an egg roll, fried rice and crab rangoons) and a tea. Let me say first off the portion size is incredible, however it doesn't matter when the food is horrible. The miso soup was the only thing I actually enjoyed. The Lemon Chicken was bland, crispy at the top, mushy on the bottom. Also lots of veins through out the chicken in the one piece I tried and the one piece my friend tried. The sauce was grossly sour, the fried rice bland as well. The crab rangoons were edible. The egg rolls were sad. This is how we ended our meal. It was such a waste. Our server asked if we wanted to go boxes and we said no. I don't know, but if I saw someone NOT taking their food with them, I'd ask if there was an issue/problem. Over the last 20 to 30 years many of the first generation Chinese immigrants who really started the American Chinese food phenomenon have either died, passed on their restaurants to their children or sold them altogether. The food has really changed. There was a time when American Chinese food was identified by the region where the owner and his family lived when back in the old country. Canton, Hunan, Sichuan,Fujian,Shandong and a few others. Nowadays most of the food would fall in the Hunan region, unless other wise stated. Lin's Express Alamo Ranch, for the most part isn't that bad. It tastes just like all the others. It's right up there with Golden Wok in my opinion. The closest I've come to true authentic Chinese food is the Sichuan House. It of course specializes in food from the Sichuan region of China. They use a lot of ingredients true to the region. Lots of spices, especially Szechaun peppercorn, which makes the food kinda spicy. ENJOY! read more
