Have been going here for many years and totally love their food. Everything I've had there is delicious. Their lunch specials are the best deals because you can do 2 combos and get 2 spring rolls and tea. You will likely not finish it and have left overs. OMGOSH!!! Let me just say I WILL be returning. This place was hands down absolutely amazing. And they had Gluten Free options. It was perfect for my nephew. I enjoyed the shrimp fried rice with no vegetables. I did add an egg to it. It was delicious. It didn't even need any soy sauce. It was flavorful. It was a party of 13 that attended and EVERYONE enjoyed their dish. There was not one complaint. The servers were amazing. So patient. So loving. So awesome! The ambiance was beautiful. Had this food ordered to go. Heard a few good things about this place and wanted to give it a try. The food was prepped fairly quickly, and most of it was packed nicely. They definitely give you a lot of food for what you ordered. The lemon chicken with fried rice came in a huge bowl (tasted decent), and the white rice was really compact in the white box. The food was still nice and hot when i got home. I ordered the house delights for appetizers to try. I liked the shrimp the best but didn't care much on the spring/cheese rolls. The panang was very good and definitely would recommend it. Can order it as spicy as you like and with chicken, beef, pork, and veggies, but I prefer chicken. I also tried their fancy Japanese fluffy cheesecake since it looked really nice. It's definitely different from a traditional cheesecake, but I actually really liked it. Was more like a cake but tasted good. The only thing was when I bit the flower decoration, I was expecting it sweet, but ended up tasting the food coloring. This used to be one of my favorite places for lunch. I rarely make it here anymore but I've really been craving their pad Thai for a while. I tried ordering a few different times on uber eats and door dash and my order always gets cancelled, so I considered it a sign and ordered somewhere else. Finally my order went through and I kinda wish it would have been cancelled as well. I'm just sad and disappointed after this meal. I ordered the lunch pad Thai and sautéed vegetables and a separate order of sesame chicken. first the portion sizes have decreased, at least for the to-go orders. it's definitely not worth the price. To the food ... the pad Thai was completely dry and flavorless. It had zero flavor. I heated up peanut butter and whipped up my own sauce to make the meal palatable. it was such a let down since this was what I was craving. Very delicious and big portion food. Pad Thai was phenomenal. Fried rice could use more flavor but still good. I really liked how clean the oil tasted, unlike other Chinese restaurants where they reuse oil (we can tell the difference). If you get the seafood puffs, I recommend letting it cool for about 5 mins because once you bite into it, the piping hot cheese will splurge out. The only thing I did not like about this restaurant was that once you step into the front door, it smells like urine or homeless people. I'm not sure what it is, but the smell went away once we got to our table, so it might be the front door mat? My wife wanted to leave after we got to the door, but I wanted to give this place a chance and glad I did. We will be coming back! read more

I don't get Chinese food from any other place but here. Their lunch specials are great! I always get the same thing - lemon chicken & kung pao beef, with fried rice, spring rolls, and ice tea. I also get 2 glasses of wine. I've eaten asian and chinese food all over the world and this is one of the best as far as quality and selection in food. The place isn't fancy but the food is good. They've had a staff shortage ever since Covid shut down everything. Sometimes the service is slow and I have yet to be there when the other side of the restaurant is in use. The staff shortage impacts everything. But the servers they do have work their butts off and are very friendly. They provide great service. read more

I called Asia Kitchen to discuss my seafood allergy. I love Thai cuisine, but I also prefer not to die. The very polite woman who answered the phone informed me that the restaurant can cook me most dishes on the menu without fish, or oyster sauces. I just needed to write "seafood allergy" on my grubhub instructions. I was also told that I shouldn't order any fried appetizers, because they fry these in the same oil as the seafood. I'd like to preface this with a warning: this is going to be a long one. Okay, so I've been going to Asia Kitchen since I was a kid and I've always loved it, that's why I'm giving it three stars - just sheer nostalgia. Because I have such fond memories of this restaurant, I say this with a tremendous amount of sincere love in my heart: please...get your sh*t together. Two weeks ago, I was going to visit my mom. I asked her if she wanted me to bring anything for lunch, and she requested pad thai. "And please don't forget the spring rolls!" she added. As if I'd ever to something silly like THAT. I knew they'd be busy, it was Saturday, so I decided to call the order in, since it would take about 20mins or so to get to the area. The voice recording said that I could order online as an option, but decided I'd rather talk to someone, so I waited as I slid my shoes on. A woman picked up a moment later as I walked out to my car, asking if I could hold. "Sure thing," I said. Twenty minutes later, I was still stupidly on hold - irritated, annoyed, and thinking I had been forgotten. So what did I do? I hung up and called back. Except this time, when the lady picked up and asked me to hold, she didn't wait for a response. So I waited another seven minutes before hanging up. I ended up going to Wing Stop right by Asia Kitchen. Fast forward to last night. I found myself in the area again and decided I'd go in and order takeout and just deal with the wait. I got there as a woman was at the register to pay. The girl behind the counter was on the phone taking an order with someone asking a thousand questions. Where were the other staff? There were at least four parties waiting, not including the woman trying to pay. Finally another staff member showed up. The first girl handed off the phone to her and...kinda stood around while the new one took over the question-happy phone order asking about off-menu items. The lady trying to pay continued waiting. I looked over at a party of three, haphazardly looking at their menus. They gave up and left. I got a sinking feeling. Three more parties showed up, two for takeout behind me and one for dine-in. The dine-in people were told it would be a twenty minute wait. I suppressed a laugh. I had already been waiting that long in line and hadn't been so much as glanced at. Finally, the phone call ended. Another phone call came in and they were told there were five people ahead of them, did they want to continue waiting? At this point, I was ready to walk, but a third staff member came up to the counter with a to go order. Turns out it belonged to the lady trying to pay. She took her to another register. No one looked at me or anyone behind me. The first staff woman took the next phone call waiting and began taking their order. Not sure where the second staff lady went, but I cut my losses and left and ended up getting Whataburger. I used to be a server back in college at an extremely busy Riverwalk restaurant. So busy that we had two hour waits just to be seated, and sometimes the parties were 20+ people. I've been yelled at by hungry, tired, and frustrated patrons. I always made sure everyone at least had water/drinks and chips & salsa while they waited for their food and would explain that the kitchen was slammed. One thing I knew is that people wanted to be seen. They wanted to be acknowledged. If they complained to my manager, they at least wouldn't be able to say that they were ignored. I was ignored. Twice. I get that they are understaffed and are extremely busy, which isn't surprising, seeing as how their food has always been amazing. What would I suggest to address these issues? Having more people on hand for the weekend rushes would be first. Second would be to not do special orders on the weekends (case by case basis, but it would have been nice for the ladies talking to Thousand Question Jill to have said, "unfortunately we are not able to do any special orders at this time, given how busy we are this evening"). Third would be to acknowledge everyone. I was ignored as I came into the restaurant last night, as were the other two patrons behind me. Fourth would be to make the online option more user friendly, perhaps give it its own button on the main page. I just noticed right now that it only pops up once you hit "menu". I didn't see it when I scrolled the website while I was on hold and driving in their direction (my car as a self-driving option, I was fine). When you click on anything else (appetizers, soups & salads, etc), the "order online" button again disappears. What the heck? Number five would be for the manager on duty to help out at the front. I'm not sure where they were at. Maybe helping in the kitchen? Communication is sorely lacking there. Maybe have a front-house manager AND a kitchen manager on duty. TL;DR - Asia Kitchen, I love you, but for the love of Sweet Baby Jesus and the grown one too...please get your sh*t together. read more

Unfortunately we had a two hour and a half lunch... it took a long time for us to order, one hour to get our food, and a lot of attitude when we paid. We were very patient and kind. Husband ordered kung pao beef- so tender and chicken Pad Thai lunch combination and I had sesame chicken (white meat $1 extra) w sauce on side (meat stayed nice n crispy that way) and chicken curry. The lunch combo plates are 10.95 and come w fried or steamed rice, 2 spring rolls & ice tea- we did half sweet/half unsweet and it was perfect. Reasonably priced lunch, friendly staff, tasty entrees. Our family's been patronizing this restaurant for over 30 years!! We come at least 2xs a month, and we bring a minimum of 4 more guests! Yet, when my husband & arrived today & asked for a table for 5, I was told that all 5 had to be present! I was hungry and wanted to order ahead of the others (who arrived 10 (ten) minutes later)!!! So!!! No perks for LOYAL customers!!! NONE!!! I should add that the servers are always very attentive and friendly'. Delivery review: The spring rolls were soggy, burnt and greasy. I've had other Thai restaurants deliver crispy spring rolls. Wasn't that far for delivery. Don't order fried foods for delivery if you want crispy food. Big problem. I ordered the pad woon sen and on two separate occasions there were black, hard and burnt pieces of unknown substance in my dishes. This was my second delivery and the same exact thing happened both times. There were tiny black pieces in my dishes that were hard as a rock (see pictures). I thought it was a fluke the first time, but twice means something is wrong in the kitchen. The dish itself was good, but I can't get past the unpleasant crunch of hard rocks in my food. The service was the best. (I asked for server name but forgot it) I personally tried the lemon chicken. This place offers a choice between dark and white meat, which I had never before seen as a choice at an Asian eatery. I specifically ordered the white myself and was not disappointed. The chicken was light and the breading was crispy. The lemon sauce was a bit of a surprise. I'm used to the sauce being thicker with more consistency. This one happened to be on the lighter side and had more of "lemony" flavor when compared to any other lemon sauce I had before. I loved it! Came here for dinner, based on the proximity to Lackland AFB, and the reviews. I'm glad we did, because the food was solid. With a name like Asia Kitchen and so much variety on the menu, I thought it would be a case of doing nothing well, but I'm so happy to be disappointed. We ordered an appetizer of spring rolls. You have the choice of 6 or 12; we went with 6, but ended up with 12. A "dining guide" at the bottom of the menu states that everything is made upon order so that food is fresh and hot. Well, they aren't wrong. Every single roll was piping hot and delicious. My husband ordered the beef fried rice, i ordered the Thai eggplant, and his uncle ordered the combination pad Thai. Like the spring rolls, my food was piping hot and delicious (the sauce was a touch too saucy, but when eaten with the rice, it's not as noticeable). There wasn't too much basil in the dish that it overpowered the taste of the eggplant. The fried rice was kinda wet, like it had a light coating of sauce. My husband didn't like it, but I found it to be quite delicious. Had i not been as distracted by my own meal, I would have gladly dove into his headfirst. The pad Thai was also really good, lightly sweet without being too much. The noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat perfectly complemented the flavor of the sauce. There could have been more meat, especially shrimp, but my uncle wasn't at all disappointed. If you're looking for good Asian food, this is your place.
