Stopped here for lunch after church as I have been wanting to try it, as I enjoy Korean cuisine. I was very surprised they had my favorite dish, Bi Bim Bap, a dish I came to enjoy after being stationed in South Korea. The dish came with a side of Kim Chi, which was delicious. My wife was happy to see they had a lunch menu that was available every day and enjoyed the Beef Bulgolgi

I got the food delivered and it wasn't what I expected. I really wanted korean food and it didn't meet my expectations. The only food that was delicious was the kim bap. I really wanted to like the soup and it wasn't tasty. My brother ordered the fried chicken with hot sauce. I tried his chicken wings and I didn't care. He ate 2 and threw the rest away. Maybe I'll try this place again and try something else. I'll update my review then.

We came here on the off dining hours the Saturday before last weekend. The restaurant is on a strip mall but a bit hidden when you come in the main entrance . We came at 3:30pm and it was quiet . I ordered the squid calamari as appetizer and it was crunchy and flavorful. My husband ordered the spicy pork bulgogi and I ordered the regular beef bulgogi. They were good. Service was fast . I just had to fix my Korean food cravings .

Absolutely love the food here, always hits the spot when I want something hot and comforting with a lot of flavor. Service is always prompt, friendly and attentive whenever I come in ( at least once a week or every other week). It tends to be pretty empty when I come in but I still like the quiet and chill vibes in here. Sometimes whatever they're playing on the tv can be a tad bit loud but I personally don't mind it too much and kinda feels like eating at home while watching tv. Overall love this place and recommend it if you want chill vibes and good eats!

THE BULGOKI IS MINDBLOWING! Wow! I wasn't sure what to expect coming here for the first time with my love. My partner previously ate here and recommended we both go for lunch. We arrived on a Tuesday rather early around 11:30am and we were the first patrons to be seated and serviced. **FOOD** I ordered the Beef Bulkogi for $11.95 with cold sides. I had steamed sticky white rice, zucchini, and spicy kimchi. The Beef Bulkogi was marinated so well and very flavorful. It was my favorite for sure. I didn't quite care for the cold sides honestly. I never tried kimchi before and despite enjoying the texture and flavor I'm not sure I would order again if it's cold. Babe ordered the Soon Doo Boo for $11.95 also with sides. The sides were rice, sprouts, kimchi, and zucchini. Her food was beautifully plated and came out piping hot. She couldn't eat it all fast because it was so hot. Steam was coming from the bowl the entire time even down to putting the leftovers in the to-go container. She thoroughly enjoyed her meal also. **DRINKS** For drinks we ordered some alcoholic cocktails. Despite the menu saying frozen drinks are available they actually are not as we were advised they don't have a blender or the capacity to make frozen/blended drinks at that time. That was ok because I was in the mood for "on the rocks" margarita. I'm so happy I tried this because baby, it was soooo good! The flavor and alcohol was excellent! They definitely don't skimp on the alcohol in this drink! Babe had a Mango Magma Margarita which was advertised on the board when you first arrive. This drink was amazing too. Its sweet but hits subtly after with spice and a kick! Highly recommend both drinks! **PRICE** The price was very fair and reasonable. We ordered lunch portions but I was full prior to finishing everything on my plate. Babe took her food to go and was able to enjoy leftovers. I can only imagine what the dinner portions look like. **CLEANLINESS** The restaurant was very clean and we sat at a booth that presented no issues. There was fly or fruit fly flying around during our meal but it wasn't too annoying. I'm not sure how the restrooms were as we did not need to use them. However another patron used them and appeared pleased, with no complaints. Ohhh also, I love how on the outside of the restaurant looking in the windows are blacked out so you can't see inside but when you get inside they are bright, open and you can see out. Very cool feature. **SERVICE** First impressions are very important to me and let's just say the service was spot on! My initial impression was a great one. The host and server who took care of us was Ke'airra! She was absolutely phenomenal. She was very welcoming, friendly, attentive and helpful. She knew the menu well and was able to recommend some lunch options. I loved her honesty about whether she enjoyed a dish because to be honest at most places people lie and tell you they love everything and they actually don't! Ke'airra got our drink and food orders perfect. She didn't write anything down either. Her memory seems wonderful. She had such a beautiful, vibrant personality and really makes for a great first impression on this place!! I will definitely return and hope she is our server/host again! HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT!

I have to admit I was expecting to be in a meh mood trying Kogi while in San Antonio but was pleasantly surprised. I already have my favorite Korean dishes in mind when I try a place and go to them to gauge everything. My brother and his wife ordered the Dukk (tteok) soup, and Bi Bim Bap. I haven't had Ja Jang Myeon in a long time so that's what I got after seeing it on the menu. We started with the Dukk Bok Gee (tteok bokki), a longtime favorite food. Kogi's Dukk Bok Gee was good, the texture of the rice cake was nice and chewy, the gochujang sauce nice and spicy. There weren't any fish cake, but plenty of onions in the dish, and maybe 10 pieces of tteok for almost $9! The price for the dish is very high if you've priced rice cake at your local Asian grocer. Thumbs down for quantity. The banchan was good, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, bean sprouts and tofu kimchi. The banchan came with my brothers Dukk soup, which was confusing as in most Korean restaurant's banchan isn't limited to what entree you're eating. My Ja Jang Myeon was good, even if it didn't take all day to make. It didn't taste pre-packaged to me and had a good flavor all the way around. The noodles were nice and chewy, one of the biggest draws for Ja Jang Myeon fans. There was a mixture of cabbage, zucchini and bites of pork, in the dark soy bean paste sauce. I wasn't disappointed with my dish and was happy to see the yellow pickled radish come out with my dish, no raw onions though which for purists would be a must. Our server was holding everything down on his own when we stopped in on a Sunday evening around 7, he was friendly and attentive without being overly absent or hovering. The space is in a pretty quiet strip mall type building, modern without much decor. According to a sign they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. Overall, the food was good for an Asian/Korean Fusion place, I wouldn't be a regular but can say I've tried Kogi.

I took my daughter as we love all sorts of Asian cuisine and spicy food. The bibimbap was fantastic, caliente and perfectly picante. Fresh ingredients in a gorgeous stone bowl. Beer was icy cold, which is rare in most restaurants. Service was fast and accommodating. Atmosphere pleasant. Recommended!

    Korean burger

Unfortunately, the most mid food ever. The staff were the sweetest though, the service was great. Granted, we were the only people in there on a Friday night - but I thought I would try the Korean burger that was listed and was disappointed. I tried my best to finish it, but couldn't stand it anymore. The fries were fresh, my bun was cold and basically breaking apart, the bulgogi inside tasted like it was from the frozen section at a HEB and the fried egg tasted like it was made beforehand and not fresh- I WOULD NOT recommend the burger at all. I think it shouldn't be in the menu to be honest.

My husband used to come here often because it was a place that was usually quiet with few customers. We came here on a Sunday evening for dinner, and it got busy quite quickly! Pros - Prices are quite cheap compared to most Korean restaurants in the area - We were served right away - Ample and spacious seating - Easy parking - Food came to us in a timely manner and the food portions were reasonable Cons - When seated, there were crumbs on the chair and scraps of food on the floor. The waiter had to sweep it up after we sat down... - My husband ordered tea, and our waiter served it in this tiny teacup with no teapot. Naturally, he finished it in 3 gulps and asked for more tea. It wasn't until we were halfway through our meal that our waiter brought him a full teapot - The kimchi chi gae tasted a little off. They kinda cheated and put in greens instead of kimchi in the soup which gave it an awkward taste - The galbi does NOT come on a sizzling plate like most Korean restaurants - You can only choose 3 bon chan plates to go with your entree If you're craving real authentic Korean food, this is NOT the place to go. I'd say that the food lacks quality, but it can satisfy your Korean craving if you're looking for a quick and cheap meal.

The first thing We recieved was the bulgogi (Korean beef short ribs) and it came with rice and all these amazing side dishes The flavor of the beef was super tender, delicious, and the best seasoned beef in all of San Antonio We also got the hangover beef stew soup and every single bit was filled with perfectly cooked vegetables with tender bits of beef and with the most flavorful broth, not too spicy but with a little kick. Delicious and it also came with a side of rice. I give the bulgogi a 9/10 And the hangover soup 10/10 Super delicious

There were 7 different banchan options, and some were great while others were just okay. The fish cake and kimchi cucumbers were good, but others like the kimchi and the bean sprouts could have used more flavor. As an entree, I ordered the spicy tofu soup, but I wish it was a little spicier! The soup also had a stronger seafood/fish taste compared to other tofu soups I've had, which I didn't expect. The service was just okay, not rude but also not excessively nice. I liked how cozy the inside felt with the dim lighting!

Chas Market & Kitchen had been long on my list and since it was minutes away, seemed like the most logical choice. I have constantly heard people sing its praises. I will say I'm not versed in Korean fare. I had previously went to another Korean Restaurant and had a terrible experience. It is somewhere on the outskirts of the Eastside, alongside the highway. From the exterior it feels like a neighborhood convenient store. Once inside the room opens up with ample seating and tables. I noticed the tables that are specifically for their "All You Can Eat" menu but that's for another review. Along the walls are fridges with drinks and little knick knacks. It reminded me of a bodega. After we found a seat a server came and left menus. The menu is really extensive. I decided on their beef bulgogi, again a redo after the previous restaurant fiasco. A hip soundtrack is playing overhead, which I believe gives the place a modern vibe. Before I go on I must include that the server was excellent. I say this as he was very attentive but still able to work the rest of the room. Whenever I go to a new place sometimes I feel an anxiety. My fear is being disappointed and having wasted my time. But my impression is that it is an ultra laid back place. You can leave your Armani suit and Louboutin shoes at home. When the food came to the table it was served on a plate steaming similar to a fajita plancha. The server brought over accompanying small dishes that are meant to be added to the bulgogi. The small dishes contained: kimichi, spicy cucumbers, radish etc. Combining any or all with the dishes heightened the flavors. I think this was the most unique tasting thing I've had this year. In addition if you want a drink you have to choose one from their wall of fridges. I think this might dissuade some patrons but again, the overall experience is like that of a bodega. If you are looking for great Korean food with excellent service by all means go to Chas Market & Kitchen. So far this year this has been the restaurant with the most unique flavors. It is perfect for a date night, friends or with family. And I have to, have to absolutely do their "All You Can Eat" where you cook all items. I'm buying if someone else is doing the cooking.

Skip K-Pot and eat here. YOU WON'T REGRET IT!…read more For starters, the inside of the restaurant is cozy. Very clean, spacious, and you can hear your thoughts. The staff is attentive and our drink orders were taken as soon as we sat. The waitress was patient with us and explained how the all you can eat works. We were used to K-Pot where you just order and order, whereas here you have a limit to what and how much you can order. You are limited to so many items at a time, and we found ourselves actually enjoying that. We were not overwhelmed with too much food and no space. You don't have to get up from your table at all, everything is brought to you. All of the sides they bring you to go with the all you can eat are so thought out and flavorful. The noodles, the cucumbers and the squash, everything. And everything is prepared fresh. All of our sides and soup came out hot and steaming. Not like heat lamp hot, like fresh out of the pan hot. We got the ttekboki, fried dumplings, and vegetable tempura. They were all delicious! Now the quality of the meats here is MILES beyond the chain KBbQ places. All of the cuts were a decent thickness, and were portioned quite well. They were very flavorful. We ordered thinly sliced steak, spicy bulgogi, bbq chicken, and pork belly. All were delicious. We were a table of 3 adults and 2 kids and did not even get a refill on the meats. They also have a smoke vent to help with the grill. We really appreciated that. And we never had to change our grill, because things did not burn. Often at other places they are walking around having to change grills 4-5 times. Overall, this has become our favorite Korean Restaurant. We already have plans to return and bring friends and family. Give this place a try. The food speaks for itself, but the service and people are also awesome. 25 years in business, and it shows!
