Along the densely wooded highway along Howell Township, you will find this small pizzeria. Website: 7/10 Its bare-minimal design brings you to the home page, where you will find the specials. I could not figure out what the prices were on the menu items. The color scheme had the basic Italian flag colors that stood out on the beige-and-brown background. Brand: 5/10 The backstory behind Lino's Pizza is that it is a family-owned establishment in operation for more than 35 years according to the website. Though, while the website does use an Italian chef as a mascot, he does not have a name. The logo outside was fading and the floral wallpaper crinkled with age. With that being said, I did appreciate the Italian aesthetics of the pizzeria in terms of the interior architecture with the entrance leading directly to a line before the counter. Concerning related merchandise, I immediately noticed that Lino's Pizza had their own soda brand distributed by Island Girls Beverage available in a handful of flavors. Ambiance: 7/10 The basic eating area sufficed with plenty of tables with multiple chairs each, with plenty of space separating two rows of tables. The television was a bit too intrusive. Service: 10/10 The staff was amicable and maintained good rapport with us. Wait Time: 10/10 I did not have to worry about waiting for our meals, since they delivered a free basket of bread and butter to our table before our meals came. We did not experience any interruptions. Food: 8/10 I ordered the Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap with Lino's Pizza brand of Tealicious soda and with complementary bread and butter. While it is meant to have a cold wrap, I did find a thin strand of hair inside, which automatically fails the preparedness. The Tealicious soda was fresh from the refrigerator. For a wrap with messy ingredients like bleu cheese and hot sauce, the wrap managed to retain its form until the very last bites. The wrap had the pleasant, earthy smell of buffalo chicken. The bleu cheese gave the Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap a warm texture, while the hot sauce definitely delivered heat that managed to have a tanginess without it overwhelming me. The tomatoes, lettuce, and onions also complemented the overall dish. The chicken bits and the wrap itself were a bit unassuming. The Tealicious soda, which is carbonated black tea, definitely had a unique taste despite the underwhelming carbonation. The Buffalo Style Chicken Wrap and the Tealicious soda did leave satisfying aftertastes. I will say that I never had a buffalo chicken wrap, and it was not a terrible experience. Worth The Money?: 7/10 I hoped going to Lino's Pizza would help alleviate my despair, hopelessness, and mid-back pain. I will say that while we came in the moment shortly after opening, we found plenty of options to sit and not a lot of ruckus all around. It only alleviated me just a little since I did not feel any immediate flare-ups. The strongest pathos to the brand is its status as a family-owned business spanning many decades. Indeed, every family in the country is a manufactory within itself, as Thomas Jefferson wrote to John Adams. However, if it were to continue to operate, it would need to evolve with time. The establishment would benefit with updating many aspects, such as the menus, the interior, the exterior, and the mascot. I did like how they relied on a soda distributor for their soda brand. I express curiosity as to whether they sell them in packs, and about the sources of the ingredients for their menu items. Sourcing from the abundant local farms throughout Monmouth County would definitely apply the local multiplier effect to Lino's Pizza and Howell Township community. Can I say the overall price was worth two Yelp dollar signs out of three? Probably not. Rating: 4/5 Stars Despite the underwhelming status of Lino's Pizza, I still have hope in a family-owned establishment like this. Recommend To... Anyone who lives nearby that highway where Lino's Pizza situates if they are looking for catering which the establishment offers. Wanted to get some good food in the area so I turned to yelp and that's when I found linos pizza. I made a takeout order and got a large cheese pizza for me (12$) and a large bbq chicken pizza for my brother (21$). The service was nice and friendly. The form of payment they take is CASH ONLY. The large cheee pizza was solid but I definitely wish I had got some toppings because I know it would've been way better but for a plain cheese pizza it was very good. I had 1 slice of the bbq chicken pizza and they definitely made sure to give you a good amount of toppings. I'm not super crazy about bbq chicken pizza so it wasn't all that to me but it was still pretty good. All in all, linos pizza is a very good pizza spot that deserves more attention. We haven't gotten any of the specials yet, but it would make feeding a family affordable. We are trying all their different pizzas one at a time. It has the name family on its sign, but let me say its nothing like a Family RUN pizzeria like the two closest places to this pizzeria (Nonno's or Lino's, they have the owners behind the counter with hands on involvement0. From the unwelcoming person answering the phone to (the same person) and the counter when you pick up. No sense of welcoming, no sense of thank you for giving them your business. The food was terrible, (granted i may be a pizza snob since i grew up on Staten Island with great pizzerias. The pizza has way too much topping, just overloaded. The Calamari is dry and tasteless. This local pizzeria in Howell has been here for years. We ordered some Italian food to go and called it in. 20 minutes was the response. My brother and I arrived at that time and probably had to wait an additional 45 minutes because the orders must of gotten screwed up. I'm sure it can happen. I remember eating here before and the food was quite tasty. That was not the case with my chicken marsala. And the mushrooms felt like it came out of a can. Not too tasty. Sorry, but this is a place that I would not go to a second time. This pizza is a SAD example of what pizza should be; from the toppings, all the way down to the crust. Red Moon is less than a couple of miles south and any where you can find pizza north could not be as sad as Lino's. I am sorry to sound cruel and the only thing I have had there was the pizza. Wanted to switch up my normal pizza spot so I tried Lino's. I see it every time I drive on Route 9 so I remembered it. It has a small discreet location but I like supporting those places. The place is clean and I like how they have plastic blocking the employees from customers. That means everyone isn't breathing on the pizza which is a good thing. I went with the large plain pizza and penne vodka. The pizza is a touch doughy but the flavor was good. I liked the freshness of the tomato sauce. The pizza also wasn't salty which means they don't use the cheap cheese. The penne vodka was delicious too. It had just the right amount of sauce and I think they add bacon to it for extra flavor. Lino's is amazing and my family and I have been going here for more than 30 years. Whenever I am in Howell we have to get their wonderful pizza. I have not found any place that compares. It is a very simple clean place and always has been. The family that runs this place is kind and their service is top tier. They remember us from when we are children and ask about our family. When we were younger and went here for lunch, if one of the kids in our group did not have enough money for a slice, Lino(yes really the name of the guy running the place) would just tell us not to worry about it and pay him next time. Linos has been here over 30 years at this same location. We've been here plenty of times in the last 25 years that we've been in the area. This is not a fancy place. I've dined in several times but prefer to order take out as it's so close to home. Lately I'm enjoying thin crust pizza. It seems to be popular all over. This pizza is the old traditional kind I suppose. It is on the thick and doughy side. This doughy pizza is very good and even heats up well the next day. So happy I found this place. I've been looking for a great local pizza joint and I have definitely found my spot. Restaurant is family owned, only accepts cash, and everything is fresh and seems to be made to order. The pizza is definitely the star. Pizza is very tasty, nothing fancy, and cooked perfectly. It's definitely not froo froo pizza which made me happy. Good toppings and great cheese. Sandwiches and meals such as the Parmigiana was also amazing. This is a local place I have admittedly neglected for many years. Upon returning recently for a pizza, I rediscovered it. The proprietors are delightful, & I was happy to have NOT called ahead so we could chat while I waited. I noted how clean the kitchen looked considering this is not a new building & Lino's has been here for at least the 24 years I have. The dining area was equally clean. Prices are very reasonable & the pizza is decent (although not thin crust). Mon thru wed you can get a large pie for $8.99, can't beat that!!! Stopped in to get a couple pies to go and feed my family and friends at the Manasquan Reservoir. The sam now as it was 20-25 years ago whe I used to ride my bike there from my parents house after school. Great crust. Good cheese, maybe a little too much. Very tasty sauce. This is oily pizza but the good kind of oily... maybe it was the pepperoni. All things considered, a solid everyday pie. Wish they were in my neighborhood. The Perfect Jersey Pizza! back in May my husband was in a horrible accident and I had spent the previous 18 hours in the hospital, driving home starving I exited 195 on to Rt 9 and Lino's was still open. Thank goodness. Having been brought up on Lino's this is my defacto of good pizza. It is far from the best that I have ever had. However, for the price, portion, and overall service, I do not think there is a better pizza place in Howell. The interior could use some remodeling, however, we only ever took it to go so that did not really matter too much. This is not thin pizza, it is definitely on the thicker side. The sauce is good, it is not on the sour side like I find most pizza places. The cheese always tastes fresh and "Joe" aka Lino still knows me even after moving away for 7 years and my rare visits. Overall, maybe I am just a fan because it was what I was brought up on, however, my taste buds don't lie when it comes to the sauce, cheese and dough.
