Got Brooklyn Square pizza to go and I was thoroughly impressed with my experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pizza shop is clean and you can tell it's the real deal as soon as you walk in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The employees were super friendly and the service was great. The square slices I got were super flavorful and had the perfect amount of fluffy dough to crispy crust. I'm happy to report that Brooklyn square pizza has perfected the ratio!

Awesome square pizza here! Great crust and flavorful sauce. Just the right amount of cheese. They make fantastic round pizzas as well, but go with the square. You won't regret it!

Always good service and the quality of the squares is second to none. The owner is a real gentleman. Milo gives a 5 paw rating

Won't put the video together for a few days still probably, but finally had the opportunity to check out Brooklyn Square today in Jackson. We got a half upside down square and a half "Gravesend" which was fresh mozz, peeled tomato sauce, grana padano, and fresh basil. Both were incredible, and this is coming from someone who spent his youth eating square slices IN Brooklyn. The crust was light and airy with a unique taste, great fresh tasting sauce on both, and high quality cheese. The owner was a super friendly guy and this is priced around what I'd expect. Portnoy gave them an 8.9 and he's not even into this style of pizza (not that I always agree with him anyway haha). Brooklyn Square absolutely - Didn't Suck! Doesn't get much better than Brooklyn Square Pizza in Jackson, NJ. 1st Timers tonight, we ordered an Upside Down Square pie, a chicken parm dinner, and a stuffed shells dinner. HUGE portions. The pizza was one of the Best I've had anywhere, it was that awesome. Crisp undercarriage, but light & airy on the inside. And the sauce...that sauce was phenomenal. Had an ever so slight kick to it also. Nice tang. My wife's chicken parm dinner was outstanding, she loved it. Service was stellar, Donna was very attentive & personable. Don't think I can't heap any more praise on Brooklyn Square, but they certainly deserve it. Can't wait for a return visit !

A coworker alerted me to this place, so I met a friend here recently to see if his claims were true. My friend was watching her carbs so it was up to me to figure out what pie to order, I knew that the upside down was the signature here, so I asked for that with garlic and shrooms on half......but was coerced by the owner to skip the garlic. Heresy! But I went along with it, he was very passionate about the product and wanted me to try it as he intended. We noshed on very good fried calamari while waiting for the massive pie to bake. We'd get that again. Her chicken panini arrived first and it looked and tasted great, no photo. The pie took several minutes to cool down, this specimen starts with fresh mozzarella on the crust, copious sauce is added and a layer of pecorino Romano tops it off. The sauce is a touch sweet but not too sweet, just enough to reduce acidity. The crust while being as thick as a Sicilian is a little bit airier, but perfectly crispy on bottom and sides. The pecorino adds a sharp contrast to sauce and creamy mozzarella. Very well done. This pie fed me for the next few days and I even had to freeze the last slice! I enjoyed it reheated just as much as the first serving. When I return I'll try the thinner square pie and hopefully I'll be allowed the garlic. The owner and entire staff are very friendly. If I lived nearby I'd be getting slices here a few times a week. We plan on returning.

Too salty, very soggy and always undercooked upside down pizza. It sits in your stomach like a ball of raw dough. Hard pass

We started with the meatballs, hubby had the calzone, which to me is really a two meal dish and 1/2 half goes home... I'll get back to that. I like the white clam sauce with linguine it's delicious, it's another large portion and 1/2 went home with us.... because they have zeppoles YES!!! Now they are light, airy and have tons of powdered sugar on them and I am ok with that- if you need a sauce they come with chocolate sauce on the side- my husband likes them this way--- but I prefer raspberry sauce myself, I'm not Italian and I have been told by my hubby's family and Italians it's powdered sugar only and if you need sauce, would chocolate or Nutella be allowed! ! end of discussion lol- .......but here I am sitting on my couch eating "our" zeppoles with powdered sugar and raspberry sauce, typing on my keyboard with powdered sugar fingers!! and he's legit cringing !! Sat at bar and ordered meatball app - not bad - then ordered margharita pie - in this day and age, when pizza has become a gourmet situation and thr world has become obsessed, I would think that anyone selling it should be on their game. it came out and the mozzerella was sour - I had guy taste it and he agreed. after i figured let me be safe and order regular and specificall said a few times, light cheese and extra sauce. pie comes out alot of cheese and little sauce and quite honestly the regular mozzerella also tasted a bit sour. I was willing to live with it. my issue aside from bad food is when bill came, I expected guy to either comp the pizza or offer coffee or something.... not only did he not do it but he kept charge for margarita when i had a regular which is cheaper. save your time and money and go to one I listed above - you will not only be happy, but you will now have 2 go-to places that are on point 100% of the time

We had 2 salads on the table: one Insalata Della Casa and one Caesar salad. Both were cold and very fresh. The Italian bread was served hot and the outside was very crisp. They served us Fried Zucchini Sticks, fried Calamari as appetizers. The fried zucchini was hot and delicious. The calamari was fine just right and nut chewy. For main dishes we had Olivia's Rigatoni Vodka, Eggplant Rollatini, Chicken Marsala and sautéed green beans with oven potatoes. Dessert was small cannoli's and biscotti's with hot, strong coffee. There was enough food for everyone and we even took food home. They've been in business for about a year and the owner John is delightful and very accommodating. John' staff did a wonderful job and made sure we had everything we needed and more. Had a wonderful experience at L'Olivias and would go back with my husband for dinner. Good job everyone!

However, my friends and I were elated to see they had a great offer going on: 2 for $45. Each person gets a soup or salad, an appetizer to share, and an entree. This was as of February 2025 - unsure if this deal is still being offered. The Cesar salad was not my favorite, I didn't like the dressing and thought it was almost on the sweeter side? My friend and I ordered the meatballs to share. The meatballs were tender and absolutely delicious. The sauce was excellent. One of my favorites of the night. Since we were a group of four, a pair of us each did the 2 for $45 and we decided to share the entrees as a way to sample everything. We got two orders of the chicken parm, the gemelli bolognese, and the vodka rigatoni. My favorite of the three was by far the bolognese. The undertones of the tomato were greatly present and the meat was tender and hearty. The chicken parm was fine, nothing to write home about. The sauce for the vodka rigatoni tasted like more time was needed for the vodka to evaporate while being cooked. For a Thursday night, the room was well filled in their small and cozy, yet simple dining room. We had very attentive service all night long and our water glasses were always full. This is a nice restaurant and I hope to come back and try more offerings, especially the pizza.
