I really liked Luigi's in the past but I think there's new owners and it shows. My calzone was ham & cheese. It was extremely burnt at the bottom, ricotta was flavorless as was the sauce. The ham was shoved in the middle only so when I cut it in half the ham was right there on the edges and no where else in it. Hubs and I came here for lunch one day. We wanted go to a place that we haven't been to before and stumbled upon here. We got the garlic knot sandwich and this was surprisingly good. Hubs the chicken was a little overdone, but I thought it was pretty good. It's chicken breast. Next, we got the eggplant slice pizza and Hubs liked this a lot. It was nice and crispy on the bottom and he loved the eggplant. He's considering trying a fresh eggplant pie. next time. We got 6 Stromboli knots to bring home for daughter and she liked it a lot. I forgot to take a picture of the knots. Service was ok. They're located in a strip mall across from Target and have plenty of parking. Will return when in the area. read more

How is it that I absolutely love the buffalo chicken pizza here and have not written an review, like what is wrong with me? Anyway- Hubby loves the sandwiches here, especially if he can get it with broccoli rabe, I always order the buffalo chicken pie with extra sauce and crust well done, so darn good! I order to-go, since I grab it on my way home from work- they take the guesswork out of "what's for dinner" - because lets be honest here, no one tells you about the 5 million dinners you will have to figure out, once you are an adult and no longer living under the parentals roof- if you get my drift!!! We found this establishment a few months ago. Over the course of just 6 months, the pizza went downhill but they had they had their website where you can accrue points for free items. I moved back to Monmouth county last yr and hadn't found a good pizzeria. We found Luigi's but only for their Sicilian. Their regular pizza wasn't the same. I've been trying to order through the app bc it let me accumulate points towards free items. Tonight, we did Sicilian(bc the regular isn't as good), I finally "cashed in" my rewards points towards a small appetizer. I get my. receipt online and there was a $3 charge for using their online service? My "free" appetizer was $4 ? I called them back to ask what the $3 charge was for an "online platform". I was given horrific customer service, I got hung up on 3 times, nobody would give me their names, and told me if I was dissatisfied, I shouldn't order from there. All I was asking was about this "online platform" charge? I got hung up on several times. their seasoning or something went down awhile ago but I loved that, I thought, I was getting something for free maybe. Anyway....very very uncalled for and nasty people. Also, we requested a refund. It was within 5min after we ordered it. We haven't received a pending refund yet. My teens love Luigi's pizza! If staff is "rude" or "miserable " I'm guessing it's probably you. Every single employee and driver is always kind and courteous. Never had an issue with service in the restaurant. Once ( in 6 yrs) had a delivery to the wrong address...and they corrected by sending out a new order. Nothing but love. We were looking forward to pizza for family night, what a disappointment. Crust was hard and rubbery. Our little toddler who loves pizza and was excited, spit it out and refused to eat it. Called to let them know with the expectation of at least an apology and received disbelief despite being an established customer. Certainly not going back there again. Before I expanded my pizza knowledge to other areas of the tri state area I MIGHT have thought this was decent pizza. I was born and raised in the area and this pizza is not very good. First off, the plain slice was very oily and the cheese falls off the slice. There really isnt much flavor to it. For some reason people think ny style pizza needs to be greasy. The best ones have very little grease. Crust is nothing to write home about either. We also got the square slice. It was sort of like a grandma slice. My husband and I order from this place all the time. The young lady that answers the phone is so professional. The driver is super kind and fast. The food is absolutely delicious. Everything looked really good and the place smelled amazing. I ordered my pizza and was about to pay. They informed me that there will be a 3% surcharge because I was using my debit card. 3%! Are you kidding me? I canceled my order and was about to leave. The manager asked why and when I expressed my displeasure with paying to use my debit card, because who carriers cash? A new fave! I have yet to try the pizza...yea maybe a little sacrilegious, being an Italian pizza lover...BUT it looks good! The paninis are AMAZING, fresh and just HUGE (def enough for lunch the next day!)---def worth the money! I have to say for a pizzeria they have a great salad selection! Their salads are SO GOOD, the Caesar is one of the best around, they got that right. The Baby Greens salad with Gorgonzola is such a treat to see on a pizzeria menu, they give you such a large portion, which I think is nice because then I have a meal the next day! They don't skimp on the ingredient, a good ratio of lettuce and other fixings, so you are not left with more lettuce in the end. The Chef salad looked good, again a big salad, and though I didn't eat it, I was given a total thumbs up at dinner tonight. They have a great white balsamic dressing too, again something you don't often see, and it was yum! Also, their calzone is yummy, again BIG, and their spinach roll, same deal. Their side of meatballs are really good, the sauce is tasty! Overall, it seems like everything is a hit! I cannot wait to try more! Moving forward the wings which I ordered last week and were amazing this time not so much. They were not well done as requested/ordered and were fatty. Disgusting.
