Was graciously asked to be a bridesmaid, but would need to order my dress online. Scary thing about ordering a dress is getting the right size and measurements, so I was told to get myself measured by a pro. Immediately whipped out my yelp app to guide me, then lo and behold Linh's stood out with it's glowing reviews. Decently priced with friendly service? I'm there! I was able to conveniently make my appointment online, choosing the type of service I wanted. It said measurement for that type is free but...stay tuned.
It's kind of located in a weird place; its in a building that's located on the corner of keeamoku and kinau. When you're turning right at the stop light, it's that building right there. It's also such a small building, you're likely to miss it (like I did) so keep your eyes sharp! They don't have any parking, and didn't want to risk parking in the lot by the gas station, so I drove around the block and parked across the street from the park for metered parking.
Arrived promptly for my 4pm appointment, but saw that Linh was still working on a customer (it's a super small shop with the pawn shop, so I was surprised to see her working out in the open). My friend and I sat down while the man helped another customer before us. It was kind of awkward, so we sat and waited for my name to be called. The man finally got around to asking if I had an appointment and told me to wait for Linh. 15 minutes later, she came out and asked what kind of measurement I needed. Told her that I was looking for get measured for a bridesmaid dress since I needed to order one, she immediately grabbed a piece of paper with guidelines for measuring for a dress and went over them with me, which was nice. She would warn me or let me know what or where she would be measuring.
When it came time to pay, she told me that for that type of measurement it was $25. 0.0 Alrighty...thought I read that it was free but she did do some work to measure. But $25? 0.0 Paid and she handed me bottles of water (one for me and the other for my friend).
Overall:
The Good:
-I liked that she had a sheet of where and what to measure, and that she went over things to explain what and where she would be measuring. I didn't feel uncomfortable with her, which was nice.
The Bleh:
-Parking is gawd awful.
-Service: I read about how friendly their service was, but I didn't feel very welcomed? No smiles, no hello, no nothing really.
-Price: $25 seemed a little steep for a measurement. I've read about others having problems with prices. Maybe she should give people a heads up before proceeding?
Before coming here, I had been thinking about bringing my jeans here to get hemmed (short people problems) but I think I'll just look elsewhere. read more
