So upset and disappointed I'm practically in tears. My brand new $88 shorts that have never been worn are now ruined. For $25, I asked that the bottom cuffs be hemmed up and the waist taken in since they were a bit too big. Not only were the cuffs not even ironed to create a straight hem, they were tacked in only two spots so that they hang down. To make it worse, the lining wasn't even altered so it billows and creates an unflattering silhouette. The hemming on the waistband is crude and there's even a tear in the inside lining now. I called Jenny to let her know how disappointed I am and she didn't even know what I was talking about re: the lining. I mean come on! All she did was fold them up inside the cuff, put two small tacks and that's it. I could've done that myself! Workmanship is very disappointing. She did offer to try and fix it, but based on her work I'm scared she'll make it worse. She may be ok for quick, down and dirty alterations, but spend a little more and look elsewhere for any nicer garments. I went with the great yelp reviews and close location to me, and got burned. Lesson learned, next time I will be patient and stick with Linda Fujioka's Alterations (she was closed when I needed this done). Her work is flawless. read more

Hidden gem! Don't let the outside appearance of the shop fool you. This is the best alteration place in Honolulu. I was recommended here by a friend. My fiancé first got his tuxedo pants altered here- it was affordable, efficient, and FAST. I was so impressed that I brought in my Rita Vinieris wedding gown. She quickly put in pins and fitted my dress to perfection. She also helped me convert pieces of my grandmother's veil to something I could wear at my own wedding. All at a fraction of the price of other shops. Jenny is sweet, kind, knowledgeable, and talented. She even offered to open her shop on the weekend if I needed a rush order. Very nice alternation. I have been going to Jenny's for a while. I got my dress altered, jean shortening, and recently, I asked her to make me custom sofa pillow cases from one of the bed quilts that I never used. She did what I asked, and she is very nice and kind. She doesn't charge too much, and the work usually takes one week, sometimes quicker if I request. read more

I have been coming to Jenny for years as I am only 5 feet tall and everything needs to be altered. I have MANY jeans which needs to be altered and I am very fussy because I must have the original hems intact. Sometimes its hard because of embroidery etc....but she does a fantastic job every time for a reasonable price. I recommend to anyone who needs clothes altered! This place is Amazing! Okay, the mannequins are a little freaky when you first walk in lol, --only because they're not real people. However, the rest of the place is Amazing! It's a long hallway down to the "Jenny's" little sewing Station, and the walls are covered in a display of neat clothes. It has a cultural feel that is a little intimidating at first! So just walk all the way down the hall and make yourself comfortable! It's a little smelly, though it could have been one of the customers I was sitting next to, perhaps it could some warm incense or warmly scented perfumes! There was literally no wait, I didn't have much time and didn't even need to mention this, the seamstress "Jenny" quickly fit two buttons on my shirt and even ironed it for me! It's a Hawaiian print collared shirt that is headed to California and I am so excited and grateful! She took such care to fasten the buttons neatly and swiftly on it and I was charged only $8 for this short 20 minute visit. Walked in to see if they could sew three patches onto my service dog's vest. It was done right then and only took maybe 10 minutes, even though two had to be hand-sewn. Very reasonable price too. Would definitely use this shop again! read more

Talented and well-intentioned, Jenny does her best to give the customer what they are looking for at a fair price. I've had shirts taken in for $15, Shirts hemmed for $10, and pants made for $100. I live in Waikiki and was so happy to find a place nearby for basic alterations. I brought in a curtain to have a hem fixed and was shocked when she told me it would cost $50. It was a five minute job that needed a basic strait stitch. I "bargained" her down to $32 and had them two days later. Aside from the outrageous prices, Jenny was incredible unfriendly and did not seem to care whether she had my business or not. Maybe she is so successful she can turn people away? Long story short, I will never go back which is a shame as I would have been happy to bring all of my clothes and alteration work to her... very disappointing prices and service. read more

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT come here for alterations. I dropped off my blazer to be altered a week before my event, Jenny said I could pick it up the day of. Needless to say, I go to pick it up and she's not there! I had to call her cell to beg her to come back. She left early for the day (noon) and didn't come back until 6:30 pm. My event started at 5:30. Not only did she leave early w/o notification, when she came back SHE DIDN'T EVEN START ON MY BLAZER. I was furious. I just took my blazer w/o any alterations done. I will NOT be going back to Jenny. Her customer service was horrible and she didn't seem to care. read more

I have never been to her location before. I do not know her or her family. She was kind, considerate & professional. I called at 4:30. She closes at 5:00. Because I live in Waikiki I can get to her store easily. I waited about 5 minutes for an emergency repair. Workmanship was good. She did much more than I expected. Pricing was reasonable. I would recommend her to anyone that needs simple repairs. I saw wedding dresses and some other very interesting clothing available. Go there. Support her business. She has been there for 14 years! Jenny is awesome! I called her in the morning (11:00a) and she told me to come in to her shop to see what she could do and get a quote. Luckily I work across the street and was able to get my gown to her by 11:10a. She was very nice and welcoming as soon as I walked in to her store. She took my measurements and quoted me on the spot. Honesty, that was the part I was worried about since I was trying to get my gown done that same day. For the type of gown it was I was very surprised by the price. It was very great and reasonable!! She told me to come back at 2:00p to pick it up. It was great and fit the way I wanted it to. read more
