These ladies are the best! I had been here several times a few years ago and remember having a great experience, so I went to try again yesterday with a nail art idea. Ling is incredibly talented at nail design, and gave me a flawless acrylic full set. This was the first time I had gotten my nails done in years, the first time I have ever gotten acrylics, and my first time getting a nail design. CONS: I got my nails done on Wednesday and by Saturday both of my pinkie nail came off. I had gotten these done for my baby shower and they were ruined for it. The previous Yelp reviews looked promising so I decided to give them a try. It IS a small establishment but don't let that fool you. The staff is very friendly and efficient. I had Justin doing my nails and I must say I've never had that level of care for my nails. I also like that you don't have to stick your hands in a bowl of acetone to remove the color. Instead, they wrap your nails with cotton balls soaked with acetone and wrap that with aluminum foil. Justin was very pleasant to talk to and didn't rush the job. I have not gotten my nails done in almost two years and I think this might be the best ever. I showed Ling a design I found on the internet that I wanted her to recreate in gel on my natural nails and she was happy to do so and they are BEAUTIFUL. The best part was the price which was only $37 for a hand painted gel design which took about an hour. Of course I tipped well because of her time and prediction. I know where I will be continuing to get my nails done! Covid note: I also want to say how impressed I was with the Covid precautions being taken in the salon. All technicians were wearing masks and had shields at the stations between themselves and the customer. Right when you walk in they ask you to wash your hands well. I was not getting a pedicure but someone else was while I was there and they had disposable plastic coverings for the chairs and bowls for every new person and still disinfected in between. As someone who has felt uncomfortable doing much outside of the house lately, even with a mask, I felt like my health and safety were values there as well as the employees. Good in that I walked right in and got a manicure. Price was very reasonable. All went well until very end when tech sort of globbed too much polish on a couple nails. No way to have that dry without a smudge situation. My tips came out well but I had the worse experience for my "pedicure". I stayed there for almost 5 hours!! They don't use soap or a brush to scrub your feet -- even for basic.. how hygienic is that. They just use the same water. For a scrub they charge 5$ additional... the scrub wasn't even anything special. I liked the nail tech who jumped in to help. My first experience at Ling Nails was quite wonderful. The owner went out of the way to make sure that I got everything I wanted just how I wanted it. The next time I went someone different did my nails and I was extremely unhappy with them, the owner wanted me to stay and have them redone thar same night, however, with two children along with me it would be impossible- so I said next time and thank you! I went through about 2 weeks and then I went in to see her but her staff was told not to do not to do my nails and I was told she was in China, although she was on the phone with one of her employees on speaker with me. No one in the salon would do my nails because Ling said to wait for her, and I did. When I went in they told me she would be gone for a week on vacation in China and to wait a week- this did not make me very happy but I did indeed wait another week. Mind you a whole other week makes 3 weeks and now 3 and a half weeks and I call as I was supposed to have an appointment on a Monday that is today and I am told by Ling herself she is so busy she cannot see me until Saturday. 1 minute I am so important she can only do my nails and it is going to be complementary and then the next I feel like she's just excuse the phrase jerking me around... So I'm starting to think this has to do with the money and I offered to pay for my services, I continued. At this point I am getting the runaround on the phone for a woman who I have been waiting for more than 10 days to do my nails which look really bad but you know I'm not that vain so when I called and I was treated poorly on the phone I even asked... I am not an important client then... and she actually said no "not until Saturday" that's an actual quote people. Ok so I was contacted by James after the business saw my initial review and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised! James messaged me to get clarity on my incident and in the end offered to make things right. What impressed me about having a discussion with James is his effort to understand things from both sides. I truly feel like my patronage is appreciated here and like my experience matters not just from the perspective of profit for the business but as a customer. It's been frustrating trying to find consistency and appreciation since I've relocated to Jacksonville. However, I can't overlook or minimize the level of customer service and professionalism I experienced with James and the Ling staff with my issue. In the overall scheme of things it was only $10, which I was credited, yet the principal and trust were my issues. I can say my issue is resolved, my trust has been restored, and because the work is good and the atmosphere is amazing I'll be back. Sometimes things don't always go as planned. I requested both a manicure and pedicure. The atmosphere there was astounding even though I was late for my appointment because I witnessed an accident and was detained by the Police Dept.The chair and the table I sat at were both clean and comfortable. My nail tech is named Sanchi, who did not rush me through. She took her time and made sure everything was done spectacularly well. This was my first time there and looked at Yelp rating which was high and decided to try them. I tried it. Sanchi, did not tickle me too much, so I definitely will be a lifer. I am now looking at my feet and hands, which have never felt and looked so good.I also had fun and laughter with all the employees. In four weeks. I will return for another wonderful experience.I felt, so comfortable and relaxed while Sanchi was massaging my feet and legs, I almost fell asleep. I highly endorse Ling Nails. read more

She pays great attention to detail and does everything she can to make sure her client is comfortable. I will say the owner came off pretty rude when communicating to my service provider. She literally stopped her in the middle of what she was doing to show her the "correct way" on my nails. It made me really uncomfortable and was super rude. It was also really strange considering my service provider was doing an amazing job and the outcome was honestly the best I've had here in Jacksonville and I've gone to dozens of salons in my lifetime. The good: no wait on a Friday during lunch time, friendly staff, tons of polish colors, fixed a flaw I found after having left and coming back. The tech didn't destroy my cuticles/nail beds. The blended color they did for me is nice. The bad: the most uncomfortable chairs I've been in, the remote buttons were all broken. The mani table had no padding to rest your elbows on. The tech I had spoke no English. Zero. I wasn't asked which "type" of pedi/mani I wanted outside of what type of polish. Currently my left big toe is swollen on the side where the tech dug something out between the nail and bed. The services I got for mani and pedi were minimal at best. No extra callus removal. I paid $75 before tip for bare bones services. I've been here in the past and it was a much better experience, I won't be returning in the future. read more

Keep in mind, this is a VERY small nail salon! So if you don't have an appointment you might be waiting about 45- an hour or more just to do a Walk In. I did a walk in and I was greeted and told oh I don't think we have time we are fully booked so I asked how long would the wait be for the next available nail tech and she said about an hour so I decided to wait. Luckily I waited about 45 minutes and the took me in. I might be saying her name wrong but Alma ( Albanian nail tech) was very polite and careful and took her time to make sure my nails looked great.
