I was staying in the Hyatt Place and wanted a quick and healthy bite to eat for lunch since it was raining out. I actually attended UGA but I had never heard of this place before - perhaps because the prices aren't super college student-friendly, but I thought it was a nice local restaurant. They have several different kinds of chicken salad prepared, and I got the grape chicken salad in a sandwich. I don't think the bread is freshly-made but it was really good toasted. I selected a side of noodles which were also really tasty, which you can add peanuts to if you'd like but I opted not to. I also heard them talking about all sorts of desserts that they had made fresh that day. The entrance is really small so it might be easy to miss. They have tons of seating available so I'm sure you'd be fine if you brought a large group. They do also have internet but you have to ask them for the password. Note that I don't think this would be a good place to eat right now if you're trying to be cautious about COVID - no one's wearing masks and the food is out in the open. read more

Since I've been here twice I'll leave a well deserved review. Wow, amazing, phenomenal, impressive, the list goes on. My first visit here I came in on a Tuesday (last week), when they were doing a soft opening. I was immediately greeted by Cassidy, who was working the front counter. She was extremely friendly, polite, and made a new transplant like me feel welcomed. I had called ahead because I was craving soup to help fight a cold/flu/allergy flare up (whatever it was) I was having. After going to their old location (yelp has since corrected the address) and calling to discover they moved DT, I made my way over. I was given a sample of the spicy chicken mushroom soup to try, and I knew it was a winner. Although it said spicy, I personally didn't find it to be, but then again I have Creole blood through my veins and put hot sauce on everything. I also got a shrimp orzo pasta that was divine. It had dill, lemony flavors and was super refreshing. I only wish I had gotten more! Just when I thought I was done, my sweet tooth kicked in and I asked what the cute sticks of bread were. They were the rosemary lime shortbread. These were absolutely phenomenal and to die for. I was a little salty I had to share with my guy. Best part they are made in house by their baker Jennifer. The first visit alone made me eager to return. Second visit was nothing short of awesome as well. I didn't have too much time so again, I got my food to go. My guy was with me so he ordered food in addition to mines. He got the salad, can't remember which one and added a scoop of their chicken salad on top. Pretty sure he loved it, because not a morsel remained. Again Cassidy took care of me and showed that she is nothing but an asset to the company. I ended up getting the shrimp salad sandwich. I was a little hesitant at first, because I know A LOT of places that do not devein their shrimp (just gross). After being assured from another employee that they were, I was sold. I was beyond ecstatic that I chose it, because it was bomb! I will definitely be coming back for another! Just when I thought I was done ordering, Cassidy recommended the chocolate cobbler, because I had to try it. Now I am not a chocolate fan, and let me tell you that this was flawless. It was moist, sweet, delicious, and once again made me super salty to share it with my guy (but on a catch 22, when something is that good you kind of have to share). After paying, we got to meet and greet the owner, Lindsey herself. She was professional, warm, and made me want to come back to keep supporting her. I honestly don't know how I'll save any money, when all I want to do is say "here just take my paycheck"! IT'S THAT GOOD. The price is reasonable, it's farm to fork/table, and a foodie from the Bay Area, CA can appreciate every second of this experience, including the atmosphere and service. I will forever be a supporter. (Did I mention majority of their ingredients come from their farm?!- just another reason this is my go to lunch spot). read more

Lindsey's is the greatest eatery in Athens. If you have not eaten at this restaurant yet it you should change that immediately. It is home cooked food but better, it's Lindsey's home cooked food. This is a cute little market located in the heart of downtown. I didn't notice it was even next to 1000 faces! I came by around two and it was empty because it closes around three. There were so many options and you have the choice to either eat in or take out. They have sandwiches, salads, and more! It also looked like they had some baked goods as well. I ordered the strawberry and goat cheese chevre salad. They also allow you to choose your dressing, which I appreciate because I don't like to have my salad drenched with dressing. This dreamy Athens hideaway is nestled right in between two coffee shops. When you walk in you'll be greeted with natural light and sweet interior decor. at just the right time, near dangerous hunger levels, we were met by delicious chicken salad at an affordable price, and the best $1 chocolate chip cookie a couple of folks like us could ever ask for. This is such a quaint lunch cafe on the edge of downtown Athens. They have some classic and unique sandwiches, and the best lemon bar I've ever had!! I love stopping in for a quick bite or to stay and do homework. Pimentoless cheese sandwich is my fav! read more

These are some of the best home cooked meals in town. My favorite dish is the hot pressed pimento-less cheese sandwich but you can't go wrong with anything. The staff make you feel welcome and comfortable as if you were dining in your own home. The food is as fresh and tasty as can be. The best part about Lindsey's, THEY CATER.
