I had the Spicy Lamb and Avocado Bowl and it was packed with flavor! The lamb had just the right amount of heat, the avocado added a creamy touch, and all the toppings came together really well. The rice, greens, corn, and other mix-ins made it super filling and fresh. The warm pita on the side was a nice bonus too. The only downside--and why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5--is that I found an avocado produce sticker still stuck to a piece in my bowl. Definitely not something you want to find mid-bite. Mistakes happen, but it's something they should catch during prep. Other than that, great experience and I'd definitely come back! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Waited in line for 30 minutes, with only 4-5 ahead of me. The first employee made my bowl and then it sat there for 28 minutes. They were busy making online orders. Seemed extremely chaotic and none of the employees were friendly. They acted like they hate their job and they probably do. The food bar was messy and the drink bar looked horrible. They were out of Greek olives and all of the drizzle sauces except Greek vinaigrette. I love Cava, but tonight was horrible. read more

Adult sized puddle of urine on the floor in the corner. Two employees walked past it. (Yellow and smelled strongly, no mistaking it.) I didn't see it until I left. The utensil holders in the dining room had dirty liquid in the bottom. I had to ask at the counter for a fork that wasn't wet. The drink machine/area was absolutely filthy. I have came to this Cava several times and it is usually great. The employees are always nice and accommodating which has brought me back to this location each time. One thing for certain though is that they are always out of something such as pita chips, onions, dressing etc. I have never been able to come this location and they have everything at hand. Today I ordered a Greens + Grain Bowl and my rice was rock hard as though it hadn't been cooked at all and the chicken in my bowl was composed of pure fat. It was a huge let down because my total was around $13 and when I called to explain my situation their mailbox was full and I couldn't leave a message. I ended up wasting my time and money and unfortunately this situation was the straw that broke the camels back on top of this location never having a full menu and has forced me to not want to eat at this establishment anymore. read more

They are very slow in store with service and the digital drive thru line is even slower. I come to cava frequently since it's right next to my local gym. I always get the same bowl that has honey harissa chicken, and it's always so good. The price point is comparable to similar restaurants so it does do some damage to the wallet. But overall for a quick meal it's amazing. Service is good since they helped me out each time I came in. Flavor of the food is very nice. In fact, this place has a ton of potential, but it appears the careless staff is running it into the ground. The pitas we got were sloppily made, we ordered the spicy avocado pita, but they left out the avocado. By the time my girlfriend got halfway through hers, there was only a chunk or chicken or two left, mostly just sauce. The picture of this item on the menu looked delicious, there was a nice amount of fresh lettuce and well rolled.... what we got was nothing like that. Barely a few shreds of lettuce, it was mostly just sauce and disappointment with a few pickles and tomatoes. So much potential.... The restaurant was filthy. Floors were dirty, most tables were dirty, the area where you get get your drinks was just... sticky. The soda machine was out of CO2. You could just tell that the staff didn't care, nor did they want to be there. They treated all of the customers, including us, almost like we were a nuisance. Not friendly or polite at all. It's just a shame really because this food has the potential to be absolutely fantastic. I am disappointed every single time I order from here. They don't answer the phone, seems to be disconnected. Seems they purposely don't read tickets, as the entirety of my main dish was completely missing. Like completely missing, and I paid extra for it! Hopefully I will be refunded by UberEats, but my goodness... upwards of $20 for a meal only for it to consistently be incorrect is just upsetting. read more

Food is great and most of the crew. But the GM IS DISRESPECTFUL and treats the staff like there pheasants. I feel as long as they have the GM they have at the ATHENS location the business will not flourish. And the turnover rate is ridiculous. When I was employed there we could never keep any employees because the GM doesn't know how to treat people. You can't expect your staff to want to work if you never want to be present. I was a great Mg for the company and loved my job but the DM started making her job everybody else's job and I'm not standing for it so because of that . I was told that i pointed out which was not accurate because I always showed up for work. But because I refused to do other people's jobs she made up points on me that I know we're not mine to have an excuse to terminate me instead of holding the people accountable for what they weren't doing. I don't care what job a person works at or for how long . People don't like change especially when they are so used to running a business for so long , they don't like to be told that change needs to happen. And my old Gm is the type of person that doesn't like to be wrong. Even though most of the time she is. Anyways the experience was everything and I learned a lot along the way but I pray for the people that still have to work under her. Because there is no way that you can work for her and come to work happy every day. Her energy and presence always sends a darkness in the room. Most of the crew is afraid to speak up in fear of being taken of the schedule or being terminated for speaking up because that is what your up against. But I'm not one to back down when I'm being wronged or when anyone else is being wronged. I hated to watch people get talked to like they didn't matter. But this is what you can expect if you are employed with CAVA ,ATHENS. GREAT BUSINESS BUT WRONG MANAGEMENT. Also your not supposed to disturb customers while they're with their friends and family just to do a review for you because your ratings are low. But this is what the GM does. I have witnessed it first hand. But in reality if the customers knew why the ratings were low I'm positive they wouldn't do a good review. This has been an ongoing going issue with this location tho long before I was even employed with the company. Several people have complained about the way they are being treated and talked to but it's up to the COMPANY to make change. They staff is what makes a business flourish and successful,but if you can't keep staff then maybe that's something they should be looking in to. read more

The first impression was bad from the moment we walked through the door. We were not welcomed our food preparer wore a Papa John's hoodie with the hood over her head. The entire staff was unwelcoming as though we were an inconvenience making the atmosphere uncomfortable. The food was good until a member of my party bit into a foreign object. The object is a piece of rubber tubing. Contacted corporate as I did not feel comfortable discussing with the disgruntled employees. I asked for a full refund to be mailed to me in a form of a check as I paid cash and have no interest in returning to my local restaurant. Corporate's response was for me to set up an account and they would give me a credit for the meal disregarding what I sent in the email; or go into the restaurant and show them the email once again disregarding my concerns. The food? Good. The staff? Slower than molasses. Which than makes the food worse because it's quite not worth the wait. This is my first time at a Cava ever. And I heard such high reviews about this place from multiple people. And the thing is I've been in the restaurant and service industry practically my whole life so I have the patience and understanding when things take time or something so sideways. HOWEVER, when I walked into Cava, the line was was pretty long and I thought it was because of how popular and great their food is. After watching the workers, and experiencing how slow the line moved, I realized it was because of the pace of the workers. Once again, slower than molasses. I watched as each person's order take probably 10 or more minutes to assemble. I waited OVER AN HOUR to be at the front of the line. Only to have to wait ten more minutes before the worker said a word to me and my friend. And it was a meek "I'll be with you in a minute". How about ten? Once my order was started, it probably took another ten minutes before the second half of my order was assembled. I watched so many people leave the line because of the wait. There was a group of about 8 people at the front of the line and the person who was working that side of the line just disappeared with once again another meek "I'll be with you in a minute". And the last thing, no one apologized about the wait. I really hate leaving negative reviews. But I just hope someone from Cava sees these reviews and act upon them and improve. read more

She was condescending and impatient with our order even though there were no customers behind us. To Ava: if you cannot be nice to your customers you shouldn't work in a hospitality business. I tried Cava for the first time and was not disappointed. I didn't get a chance to take a picture but my Build-A-Bowl was so colorful. I had a Grain bowl with saffron basmati rice, tzatziki, hummus, red pepper hummus, lamb meatballs, cucumber & tomatoes, pickled onion, feta, pita chips and a yogurt and dill sauce. Both my requested side of pita & tahini dressing were not with my order I enjoy what Cava is trying to bring here with this modern customizable Mediterranean vibe; it's great being able to put exactly what I want in my order & I adore Mediterranean food. However, they just miss the mark for me and felt a tad disappointed with my meal. Not because it was "bad," but because it was just okay and I expected more food, felt I payed too much and was missing items. I got a greens + grains bowl with 1/2 falafel and 1/2 roasted white sweet potatoes, brown rice, most of the vegan toppings, hummus, harissa, zhug, & herb tahini dressing and a strawberry citrus drink. Only two pieces of falafel and just a sad serving of each topping and again no ice in my drink so it was tasty but I added ice when I got home and it was too late for me to go back to ask for my pita since I didn't check it before I left (I shouldn't have to as this isn't Taco Bell ranks here, this is upper-middle). Given my first experience, if I get a similar craving again, I'd straight up prefer to just get TB's cantina power bowl vegan style, heat up some Trader Joe's or Target brand frozen falafel (which you reliably get tahini sauce included) and throw it on for about half the price and probably a bigger serving, no issue on sacrificing on some of the freshness because it's not worth the premium price at Cava. Unfortunately won't be coming back for the mainstays and only for another fresh drink and to try out their pita and another side. Just meh, ya'll. read more

Been wanting to try this place ever since I heard of it! I totally loved the idea of fast and customizable Mediterranean food. It's basically like the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. You can either build your own bowl or build your own pita.. there's also options for 5 already "made" bowls. I chose the pita and it was super delicious. The smears and vinaigrette's were super flavorful and they have a wide variety of toppings and different things to fill your pita/bowl with. The falafel balls were actually super tender, warm and had whole chickpeas in them. One thing I didn't enjoy was the vegetables. The roasted vegetables they offer are a mix of Brussels sprouts, cauliflower and carrots. I had actual raw baby carrots in my mix and they did not taste good at all. Other than that this place was a total hit, just a tad bit more on the expensive side for the portions you get. Super fresh ingredients and good vibes! read more

I love cava food but I always pay extra money for the full side pita and they always forget to include it in my bag and there's no way to call and fix this since their phone number goes straight to voicemail and they won't even let you speak to an employee! There is also no way on the app to report that they messed up your order. At this point they are just robbing you of your money! read more
