Ladies and gentleman, don't walk, RUN, to Mr. Frosty's! Even after all these years being their…read morecustomers, these guys are still one of Connecticut's best ice cream joints period! Don't mind the long lines, crowds of people, or the 500,000 vehicles eating, sleeping, and roaming these roads of East Norwalk. Trust me, this place is worth all the traffic! I've been coming here almost every summer since I found this place back in 2015. There's usually several people already in line by the time I arrive, but it's never a long wait. It gives me just enough time to decide what ice cream I want to try, what toppings I want, and how I want to pay for my ice cream. I've always been more of a sundae guy because that means I have a far less chance of my ice cream spilling, and so that's basically always what I get here. Today's sundae was a large Chocaholic with peanuts, cheesecake bites, whipped cream, hot fudge, and cherries. Yeah people, I am a chocolate lover. Don't like it? Deal with it! And as always, my ice cream was top-notch delicious! What truly makes these experiences magical is the location. Yes, I know it's not directly next to the water, but this leads into one of my favorite Connecticut summer pass times ever! To optimize my experience, I would carry my ice cream over to the Overton's dock, sit on a bench that's right at the end of the dock, face the water, and enjoy away on a nice summer day. I love to feel the sea breeze caress my skin as I look over the harbor, ice cream in hand. I love to imagine myself riding on a boat, or maybe sit at the edge of a pier, feet dangling just mere inches over the water as I enjoy my summer treat. It's always a soothing sensation, and I only need to walk a very short distance to make it happen. Mr. Frosty's, I love you so!

Honestly, I've been coming to the Norwalk Stew Leonard's for over 20 years now, and it never gets…read moreold. Pro tip for anyone trying to avoid the absolute chaos of the main lot: pull in using the George Ave entrance and park over there. It's a total game-changer for getting in and out fast. Most people know this place because it was on Ripley's Believe it or Not! back in the day for being the world's largest dairy store, but it's honestly just an institution. Right when you walk in, you see that huge stone tablet with their customer service rules--basically saying the customer is always right, and if they're wrong, re-read rule number one. Supposedly the founder, Stew Sr., put it up after arguing with a lady over some sour eggnog decades ago until his wife checked him. It definitely stuck, because in two decades of shopping here, I have literally never had a bad customer experience. The staff is always so solid. They have everything--a great bakery (the Apple Cider Donuts are legendary), a massive seafood section with fresh lobster rolls daily, a killer meat department where I usually grab lamb steaks, and a seasonal garden center and "Little Farm" with goats and ducks that the kids love. They even have a food truck outside now. But if I'm being completely real? Half the time I roll up here, I am solely there for one thing: the hot bar. They have the absolute best wings around, specifically the Spicy Italian ones. I will literally drive over just to grab a container of those wings for lunch. A few quick heads-up things: download their app before you go because the loyalty program rewards actually add up pretty quick, and definitely remember to bring your own bags. Oh, and grab a soft serve on your way out. Essential Norwalk experience.

I feel a little guilty coming here, but I 'm cheating on Mr. Frosty's tonight by coming to try Milk…read moreN Cookies out. So I was a little hesitant to come here for a while, but right from even before this opened for business I had been thinking of trying Milk N Cookies. The name alone is alluring and kind of sultry. Milk N Cookies sounds like the kind of place where you would come home to some homemade baked goods after a day of playing outside as a child. Also, when they advertised that their ice cream would be infused with cereal, that only added to the intrigue. I finally bit the bullet tonight because this would give me something quick before I attend a workshop later. So the interior of the place doesn't really look like much, but it does feel much bigger inside than when you looking in from the outside. The location also kind of works against it because it is right next to where all the fine dining of South Norwalk is located, and I have already seen one store like this close down that was located around the corner. In fact, that ice cream shop was attended by a Netflix cast one time I went. Knowing that past, this makes me worried for this place's future as well as I never really see much in the way of customers inside. If it's quality you are worried about however, then rest assured that you have nothing to worry about. This is actually a really good place to get ice cream if you prefer to stay away from the harbor or need to really catch that train at the nearby South Norwalk station. They have many different kinds of cookies you can choose from, and there are plenty of cereals you can have mixed into your ice cream. You can have this in a cup, a milkshake, and I forget the third option you can have the cereal mixed in. I wanted to try both a cookie and their ice cream, so I picked the Cookie Monster for my cookie (C is for cookie after all) and a cup of chocolate ice cream infused with Reese's Puffs, topped with Teddy Grahams and a chocolate drizzle. Let me tell you that this idea is genius! A cereal-infused ice cream is not what would come to mind for a dessert, but it is quite innovative and works like a charm! The cookie you're given is served pretty warm, and you definitely get a classic cookie taste in the center of the Cookie Monster cookie. Tip: Scoop a bit of ice cream onto your cookie and eat away! That warm, comforting feeling when you bite into your treat that way is next level! Thank me later! I do prefer eating ice cream out by the water, but I still think this is a cute little place, and I will gladly come back!

Wouldn't have been such a problem except for Floor is overwhelming disgusting. Behind the counter and where the ice cream is made soft is really dirty. But here's what takes the cake. It was 11:15pm and we were sitting chatting with other customers when the guy that works there goes to the door and said he's coming back and walks out and locks us in the shop! He literally left us there with the door locked from the outside!!! Luckily we found a back door and left from there, but that was insane!
